The Electric Connection

Overall, we had a very good experience with the Electric Connection. They had given us an estimate previously, and the total bill was in line with the estimate. Randy was attentive in listening to our requests and concerns and had the knowledge and experience to address them appropriately. He willingly gave his opinion and electrical code information. He and Marcus were professional in their work.

Pole lamp not working due to possible underground broken wire. I will call this company again to fix problem at a later date.

Called company to see if we could install track light on ceiling. Spent 5 minutes and said it could not be installed with out tearing up ceiling. Charged $94.00 for absolutely no work. I understand they drove to home so i expect to pay for call but $94.00 for absolutely nothing is just wrong, The 64.00 service call is high but charging $30.00 labor is simply ridiculous!!!!!!! ( 5 minutes),the 15 other minutes was spent checking on what they should charge me in his truck. We have many projects going foward but I will avoid this company. The gentleman that showed up was very nice and but i suggest his company should be avoided.

I sent in an online request and received a call back within a day or so. They were backed up, so I had to schedule a little further out, but it wasn't a problem. The electrician arrived on time and looked at my light fixture and determined it needed to be re-wired or replaced. He then looked at my switches and told me that they would also need to be replaced. I responded that I would probably make an appointment to replace all of the switches, but I would like a couple of them fixed that day. He told me that he didn't have any supplies on him and I would have to make another appointment. I then had to pay him $124.00 for his time even though nothing was fixed ($64 trip charge and $60 for his time). I was frustrated that I had to spend $124.00 for someone to tell me that I needed to replace things without actually fixing anything. However, I was working under a time crunch (having a holiday party at my home and needed people to be able to find my home in the dark) so I sent in another email request to schedule service. This was on December 5th, 10 days before I needed the work to be completed. Two days later I hadn't heard anything back so I called to follow-up. The person I spoke with about scheduling apologized for not getting back to me sooner because he had forgotten to call me. I reiterated my email request and explained the work that I needed done, as recommended by their technician. During this call I also reiterated that I needed the work done sometime in the next 7 days, before December 15th. They were unable to accommodate my request as they were booked up again, so I had to call someone else to do the work. During my initial contact, I was very pleased with the company and thought that I had found a new vendor to use for all of my electrical work. However, having to pay them for simply coming to my home and not fixing anything didn't sit well with me. Then when I called to schedule the work, they were unable to accommodate me within the time-frame that I needed and this was really frustrating. I don't feel that this is good business. I hired another contractor to do the work and am unlikely to call The Electric Connection for all of the future work I planned to do on my older home and at my place of business. They definitely missed out on a lot more money.

We are still working on the (long) list for the house we purchased, but so far we've found them to be professional and reasonably priced. They covered the safety concerns of the buyers of our house without being alarmist. I feel comfortable using them and recommending them.

I thought that the price was high. The workers were not very professional and they smelled like cigarettes which seemed to linger around the home.

Installation began on 9/11/12 with two service men working. One had to leave early leaving the senior technician to finish. He ran out of daylight and had to return next day. All work seems to be excellent and system is working fine.

He left me a happy customer. I was checking my outlets to see what was needed to upgrade from polarized outlets to grounded outlets. He installed grounded outlets and a whole-house surge protection that was not anticipated, but it was a very good deal.

Did a good job -- no problems. Will be using them for the 2 year maintenance intervals and for emergency service.

I thought he was very efficient, respectful and courteous and I would use him again.

We had and old strip of lights and wanted to put up two sconces. This required removal of the old fixture and a dual electrical connection through the old existing box; 1 way electrical supply. The gentlemen had to go through the wall and extend another connection to the second light. There was minimum damage to the wall. The connection and fixtures were done in a little less than an hour.

They were excellent. They showed when they said they would. They did the work they said they would do. They honored their original estimate even though there were significant costs they didn't account for.

I called twice to get an estimate and was quoted $160 each time. The 2 technicians, Lee and Assad, arrived promptly as arranged, and were extremely courteous and helpful. They installed the fan even though the work space in the attic was difficult, and did so with good humor. I was very impressed. My only concern was that the charge was $269, not $160 as I was quoted on the phone. I mentioned this to the technicians, but did not make a big deal about this as they had been so helpful. Still, the discrepancy was over $100 and I am curious as to why. I may hire this company again, as the work seems to be of good quality, but I will be clearer and firmer about the cost.

THE WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY AND DONE WELL AND THE CHARGES WERE VERY REASONABLE.. THE WORKER WAS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. I WILL DEFINITELY CALL THEM THE NEXT TIME I NEED AN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR.

The gentleman who answered my call was polite and succinct. He gave me an estimate of $125 per room. I was able to schedule an appointment for service for the following day. They gave me a window between noon and 2pm. At 1pm the following day, Marcus, the electrician called and informed me he would most likely arrive closer to 2pm. Upon arrival, Marcus was professional and courteous. He was even good with my timid and yippee yorkiepoo. He readily accepted a 5% discount coupon I had forgotten to mention on the phone the previous day and began work. The job took approximately 2.5 hours. My husband and I were very happy with the work he did. We were charged exactly what I was quoted minus the 5% discount for Angie's List members.

Really good experience. They were able to schedule me the day I called and the electrician was able to identify and fix the problem in an hour.

Installers Lee and Dustin did a great job along with plumber John.They did the entire delivery and installation in 1 day. Gave us a manual and walked us though how the generator worked.We had a test run before they left.It was a really good experience.

Judson spent valuable time going over each request, answering our concerns and gave us a good estimate. We are very pleased with the quality of work performed. The company and all staff were courteous, thorough and responsive to our wants and needs. We felt we had excellent service from start to finish.

calI went to replace a burnt out bulb in one of the three fixtures in the bedroom. The socket turned in the fixture causing a short circuit. A dimmer switch operated the three fixtures and the overload form the short also caused the switch to burn out. One of several out door light fixtures was also not working and needed a new socket. I searched Angies List for an electrical Company that was highly rated and chose the Electric Connection. I also had a friend that used their services and rated them well. I scheduled an appointment and three days from my contact and the technician arrived on time. He replaced the dimmer switch with a regular on/off switch as I had instructed, replaced and rewired the bad fixture, then removed the other fixtures and checked all the wiring connections. I had purchased a package of new bulbs and he installed the new bulbs (6) in the sockets. He recommended that I really need to replace the three fixtures and suggested I do that when the bulbs burn out. Outside the house, he installed a new socket in one of the light cans. He spent two hours completing the work that I mentioned and the bill came to $200 including the parts (switch, and two sockets). My wife was home when the did the work, so everything was completed by the time I got home. I did smell burning wire, or a smell common with hot electrical equipment the next morning when I used the lights in the bedroom. I thought about calling him back, but my wife wanted to wait until after Thanksgiving was over. The smell has gone away, or I have not noticed it any more, so I guess it was from the new part (socket) that was installed.

They were professional from beginning to end. The telephone workers were polite, a work order was scheduled and they arrived precisely when they said they would. The work was completed neatly and quickly. The workers were polite, good communicators and clean. All in all, a really good experience.

Responded promptly; did work to our satisfaction.

We have an old refrigerator in our garage. The outlet for that refrigerator (and two other outlets in the garage) stopped working. We suspected a GFI problem and called The Electric Connection to evaluate/repair the problem. We called The Electric Connection on a Thursday and they scheduled a call for the following Monday. The electrician (Shawn) called when he was on his way and actually arrived earlier than our scheduled time - which was okay. Shawn was very personable, quickly evaluated the problem and carefully explained what he thought the problem was. He replaced the GFI outlet and reset the outlets. Unfortunately, the old refrigerator quickly tripped the GFI again. He concluded that based on the age and behavior of the refrigerator, that the compressor was likely the culprit and tripping the GFI. We were very pleased with The Electric Connection and would call them again for electrical work.

The job turned out excellent. They came out promptly and gave me an estimate and they stood by the estimate. They were easy to deal with and they did what they would do. I was 100% pleased with them.

It went well and the technician was friendly and helpful.

THEY WERE ON TIME, DID EXCELLENT WORK AND THEIR PRICES WERE VERY REASONABLE COMPARED TO OTHER ESTIMATES THAT I GOT BY PHONE. THEY WERE IN AND OUT WITHIN 30-45 MINUTES. I HAD RUN THE ELECTRICAL LINES FROM THE POINT OF SERVICE BACK TO THE BOX, WHICH SIMPLIFIED THEIR WORK. HOWEVER, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT AND WHATEVER ELSE WAS NEEDED. THE SERVICE REP HAD EXTRA SWITCHES FOR THE CIRCUIT BOX AND TURNS OUT I NEEDED ONE, WAS ABOUT $8.00, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. I HAD CHECKED ANGIE'S LIST AND BBB BEFORE DECIDING ON THIS COMPANY.
