They were wonderful. They did a great job of working between me and the business next door. They did a fabulous job. It only took them two hours and were able to get the work done before the business opened.

We contacted Russell in late June to trim two large trees on our home & remove (4) trees in the yard. When we met w/ TJ he seemed very knowledgeable about trees & their craft. We had contacted three companies & chose to move forward w/ Russell. They were the highest quote but chose them anyway due to their reputation & expertise. We did not have them remove the (4) trees because they were three times as much as other companies. I figured the tree is just coming down so why not use the cheapest company. However, the locust & sugar maple trees are very important to us & due to how large & the age of the tree I wanted someone who knew what they were doing. We were up front w/ them that we need the work completed within 2-3 weeks because of a new addition we were doing & TJ said that could happen. I felt they made a promise they could not keep to get the job. We had an decent amount of rain throughout the summer which backed up all trades schedules. I know this because I am a painting contractor & I know what is like to deal w/ the weather elements. I was very frustrated because they never contacted us once with any updates & I left 3-4 voicemails/emails about just wanting an update. I can be understanding about weather but not very understanding when we do not get a call w/ schedule update. They replied twice saying the work would be performed within two weeks after six weeks had passed. Five to six weeks passed again & still no call. They finally contacted me after (11) weeks to schedule the job. Unfortunately, once they called a huge limb broke off the tree causing serious damage. I was upset because I felt this could have been prevented w/ the maintenance we had scheduled. I understand that this could of still happened even w/ the tree pruning but I am pretty sure it could have been prevented. We are sick to our stomachs because not only did a large branch broke off we are now forced to remove the tree. They attempted to understand our sitution but all in all they did not say much because there was not much to say. They quoted me $2,600.00 to remove the tree & said he would remove the stump for free because of the headaches this caused. I passed on using them at all for the removal & hired a company for $1,100.00 to remove the tree & stump. This was a very frustrating experience & it could have been better handled through communication which we never received. If you need a tree removal make sure you contact several companies because their costs were crazy experience compared to the other companies. They did a nice job trimming my locust tree but left our landscape & roof scattered w/ tree debris. I did not even ask them to take care of it. I decided I was done w/ them & just wanted to take care of my bill & move forward.

Professional, polite, careful. Have used Joe several times and have also had him plan trees in my yard. Love this guy! He is my "tree guy".

They were great, quick work and very efficient. Very professional, knowledgeable and the time estimate was right on! I refer him to my friends.

They did a great job pruning the tree and getting it back into shape. Looks so much cleaner around the bottom and no longer is dropping seeds/leaves onto our front porch. They only worked for about 20 minutes but did a good job. They cleaned up everything and asked me multiple times if I was satisfied or if there was anything else I needed done to it. Price was a little more than I hoped ($95 for 1 tree) but hey, they did a great job. I've already recommended them to friends for tree work.

We are a home owners association, and as such were requested to have the trees removed by the City of Gahanna, due to possibly falling over onto a roadway. We contacted Russell Tree Experts and receive their estimate to do the work. They contacted us 3 days before the work was to be done, as they said they would. They showed up on time, with very large equipment, (including a crane), and performed the work as they said they would, in the time frame they said it would be completed. They were very professional in all aspects of their work, as well as their associates were very friendly. They cleaned up all the debris and hauled it all away, just as they said they would. I would give them an A+ in every detail and highly recommend them for anyone needing tree removal or tree services.

I really liked that they brought their crane and they were able to remove all the trees without taking their trucks under my property so that was a huge deal and so they ended up without ruining any of the grass or the mulch bed, so the crane was big deal. The only thing that I would say bad about them is that they didn't come when they originally said that they would and it turned out when I called to find out why they weren't coming, they said that they had gotten a contract with the city and that they had to put two crews in this contract and it took them two weeks to do that job and so it put them two week behind on everybody else. So I just thought it was kind of odd that they would do that and they didn't call first to let me know or anything. As far as the quality of their work, it was really good and the price was much lower than any of other estimates that I had 3 companies came and gave me, so the price was really a good deal. They didn't notify and come out when they said they would.

The crew was hired by our neighbor to remove the overgrown honeysuckle & various other hedge type growth near our fenceline. We approached the crew, requesting them to be careful of the fence. We watched as they cut down 30ft tall growth, dropping branches carefully, steering clear of the fence. They worked effortlessly to clear out the overgrowth. Once completed, we asked if they could take down several mulberry trees that were a nuisance & also trim some dead branches high up in the crabapple tree. They quoted us a reasonable price that included hauling away the debris. They did a fantastic job, worked quickly and completed the cutting & cleaning up in no time.

We had 8 large elm trees that were not in good shape and we wanted to see what our options were. Russell's representative discussed several options and came up with a very creative one. Since we liked the trees as a border, he recommended that we cut them to about 8' stumps and allow the ivy to grow over them as an arbor. He also had the best estimate out of the three that we received. The others just recommended that the trees be removed. While the actual work was delayed a month, when it was completed we were very happy with the results. The workers were professional, friendly and very careful to protect our yard and deck. The clean up was excellent.

So far it has been good. They have good customer service. They have good communication.

They were very professional from start to finish. Sent the quote by email, called prior to arrival and showed up when they said they would. The crews were very courteous and professional, worked quickly and cleaned up afterwards. We are so amazed by their pruning job on the mature sugar maple. So that's what a properly pruned tree looks like: dappled shade, light gets in to the lower branches. The tree just looks happy and healthy now.

They were fast and efficient! Clean up was very good!

One tree, Norway Spruce, has some odd white markings on it and I wanted feedback on another tree in the front yard. T.J. came out and reviewed both trees and then sent me an email on his visit. I appreciate the laid back manner and non-panic estimation of the problem. The woman who answered the phone when I called twice was professional, friendly, and very helpful.

They did a huge job across the street from us, and they did such a great job that we decided to hire them. They were excellent, on time, and very friendly. There was not one thing to clean up after they were done. They did an awesome job and had great equipment. They were actually priced lower than two of the top tree service companies in the Columbus area.

This arborist came highly recommended to me. We spoke and I was pleased with his knowledge. We made an appointment, which he did not show up for. I called to find out if we could re-schedule and I never got a return call at all. If they did not have time for me, I would have moved on.....as it is, I delayed for 3 weeks of spring prime time waiting to be seen. I find this highly unprofessional.

Every point of contact I had with Russell Tree Experts was prompt, friendly and professional. A certified arborist came out and provided a free, detailed quote which include an organic root fertilization treatment. This kind of work is not cheap, but considering the size and location of the trees in relation to the house, play structure and other landscaping I found their price very reasonable. More expensive then the "door knocker's" but significantly cheaper then other quotes I received by other certified arborists. They scheduled the work in the timeframe promised. Most importantly, they did a FANTASTIC job! The crew was knowledgeable, professional and energetic. No damage to the landscaping below and left leaving no trace. The trees look great! I would highly recommend Russell Tree Experts.

We purchased this property late 2012 and we are new to the area. We contacted Joe Russell and he came to our place to look at the trees and gave us a quote to remove the trees and remaining stumps. He gave us suggestions for keeping the remainder of the trees on our property healthy. Joe was very helpful and very professional in his assessment. We receive the quote on the date that he had promised and set a target date for the removal. He sent a three man crew and they professionally removed the trees and all of the debris. They did an excellent job of cleaning up all of the limb and bark debris and left the yard in excellent condition. Two of the trees were close to an outbuilding and the neighbors fence and they very precisely took the trees down with no damage to anything.

Great job! They strategically dropped the larger limbs of the tree into the flower bed so that when the trunk fell, it would land on the the limbs and not the plantings. The tree in the front was less bothersome, but they still blocked the street for safety when they brought it down. Both trees were about 57 years old. Cleaned up after themselves nicely.

I emailed for an estimate and promptly received a competitive written estimate. Two large trees were expertly removed. All limbs and trunk sections were safely and carefully lowered to the ground avoiding all obstacles - fences, shrubs, garden beds, etc. All debris was removed and the work area left clear. The company called the next day to ensure I was satisfied with the work done. Recommended.

A huge old hickory tree in our back yard was badly damaged by two different "storm of the century" storms in four years. The tree lost two very large limbs, the bark was stripped, and it was tipping towards my neighbor's house. It was in a difficult location, on the edge of a ravine, surrounded by trees protected by the HOA. I talked with seven different tree service companies over the years (as the tree continued to lean) and their estimates ranged from "we won't touch that" to over $6,000 to take the tree down and remove the wood. A neighbor recommended Russell Tree Experts and I made the call. Jose Fernandez arrived promptly, took a long serious look at the tree, and we discussed options. His professionalism, Russell Tree's reputation, and a competitive price convinced me these were the right guys to deal with our tree. We scheduled the removal for winter. They called four days before we were scheduled, and arrived promptly on the day we scheduled. The guys laid down a heavy-duty surface to protect our yard from the bobcat they used to haul the wood to the truck. They worked carefully and efficiently, planning how to drop the remaining limbs of the tree without damaging the surrounding trees. The old tree is gone, everything was cleaned up, the grass looks great instead of being churned to a mud pit. They did a GREAT job for us.

When I initially went looking for a tree removal company, I narrowed it down to three companies based on reviews from Angie's List. I had all of the companies come out and they gave me estimates for our project. Russell Tree Experts came in as the cheapest by several hundred dollars. We originally were going to have the work done in December, but I wanted to make sure the ground was frozen. They were very responsive to my request and changed the date accordingly to late January (to avoid lawn damage from the Bobcat). They showed up on time and worked efficiently. They cleaned up very nicely and all members of the team seemed to act very professionally. Jose, the team leader who originally gave me my estimate, was easy to deal with, easy to get a hold of and showed up with the tree service to assist in cutting down the trees. Overall, I was very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them.
