Amazing! These guys are great! From start to finish I can say I am very pleased with the service of the company and the quality of work they provided. I would highly recommend these guys to my friends and family for any future services :)

The crew came around 8:30 and staged their equipment which included a huge boom crane and hopper truck to take away the debris. They coned off their work zone in the street and discussed and planned out the job. They removed the tree in about half a dozen sections, lifting each over the house and setting down on the street. The sections were cut down enough to fit into the hopper. By 11:00 am the job was done and the crew was gone. The only thing left was the stump (which was ground out a few days later) and the "cookie" or 3 inch slice of the 4 foot diameter trunk my wife requested and they gladly obliged. This company did a similar job for me about 5 years ago removing 2 large diseased ash trees and I had the same experience. These folks know what they are doing and also came in with the best bid. They followed up with us to make sure we were happy with the job. If I had to have any negative feeling it would only be that it took about 6 weeks to get scheduled, but i know it is a busy time and my job wasn't an emergency.

This was my 2nd experience with Russell Tree Services. Initially, they did tree work at my home and then I hired them again to remove two large spruces (fungal disease) at my mom's house. I really appreciated TJ taking the time to teach me about each of the trees on my property and also about the basics of tree structure. He was very responsive via email, and the office left messages for me throughout the process to keep me in the loop about when the crew was coming. The big job was with our two silver maples in front, but they also did courtesy trimming of our birch trees and a couple of other trees, which was greatly appreciated! When there was a small hiccup with the 2nd job at my mom's house, I was surprised at how quickly TJ and the customer service folks responded to my inquiry. My mom was very impressed with the professionalism of the crew and also that they did the courtesy trimming of the other trees for her so that she won't have to worry about it! Overall, if you are looking for a company that has professional, knowledgeable, and friendly arborists/crews and great customer service, I would highly recommend Russell Tree Experts!

We had three 60y.o. maple trees removed. Two from a difficult to reach area. It involved power lines.It was not a job that just anyone could do. We talked to RUSSELL and two other companies. One declined the job. TJ Nagel from RUSSELL impressed us with his knowledge and willingness to spend time discussing the job and possibilities for replacement trees. His experience was very key and educational! The job was NOT CHEAP- Just over $3,000. The two difficult trees were over a thousand each. We hated to remove these old trees. TJ and the crew made it easier. It was like watching acrobats! Afterward they cleaned up and ground the stumps. SUGGESTION: Trees are essential, but, be careful what you plant! Think about how difficult (for yourself and the environment)and expensive it will be to work on or remove later!

Overall, I would say they were A's. I didn't have any problem with them at all. They came out and did their job and whatnot. I would give them all A's. They were in there quick and got the job done so I was pleased with them.

Things went pretty well. The crew was on time arriving right around 9am. By shortly after 11am they were leaving my residence. Clean up was good. The decks could have been cleaned off a little better but I used my blower and took care of it. There was a minor issue during the pruning but that issue was resolved and taken care very promptly and to my satisfaction. The crew was friendly and professional and respective of the property and all the landscaping in the backyard. I would definitely consider using this company again and I would recommend this company to friends and family.

Work was done professionally, expedently and well. TJ Nagel quoted the job and was onsite during work. We had several companies quote the work and TJ's professionalism tipped the scales for us.

I wanted to write a rave review for Russell Tree Experts because of the generous policy of the owner (Joe) to come out and advise, for free, on various tree issues. He has done this on several occasions for me. Joe is honest and knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. It is so helpful to have someone take the time to explain things, so that you either know what to do, or can hire his experts to do it. The office staff is also very nice.

They were very responsive and met with us to determine our needs and provided us with a comprehensive estimate. We asked the trees to be dropped but not cut up and removed - this is something we decided to do ourselves. They came as scheduled and with plenty of notice. As promised they dropped the trees and did not block our driveway. Unfortunately, they dropped many of the trees in a water filled ditch. We then had to try to dig out these large trees from the ditch. They could have just as easily dropped the trees into the yard. It was so much work to get the trees out of the creek and we were fortunate that it did not rain before we did so. The blocked ditch could have flooded our yard. We called to discuss this issue with Joe and he did not return our phone call.

TJ Nagel provided advice as to removal options for two trees that were dying. The work was performed in a timely and professional manner. TJ also offered advice on replacement trees that we should consider for our front yard. We are planning to plant two trees in the late summer or early fall.

They did a pretty good job for us. They are very professional and very clean with everything. It was a pretty good price. I had no complaints with them. The quality was good when I came back it was clean and it was easy to work with. It was very timely and they were here shortly after the estimate and I asked them to get it done as quickly as possible so they were very responsive. I was not here when they actually did the work but nothing stood out that was bad so they were very professional as well.

We have used Russell several times - for tree removal, disease assessment, treatments to an Ash tree, and stump grinding. Joe Russell is professional and very knowledgeable and his staff has always done good work. Priced very competitively, especially considering you are getting the opinion of an arborist. Would definitely recommend this great local company!

Crew was prompt, worked diligently and carefully, asked questions when appropriate. We asked that they leave some limbs for firewood--not only did they, but they offered to (and did) cut them to size without extra charge. Cleaned up well. Very professional in all respects, and will definitely hire next time our trees need to be pruned.

TJ Nagle inspected our trees and provided advice on fertilizating and pruning all of our trees and stabilizing the callery pear tree. Also, he pointed out that our ash tree was infested with the Emerald Ash Borer. Although the infestation wasn't an immediate threat, we should take the tree down within the next one to two years. He was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. The tree trimmers did an excellent job and added a dogwood tree that was left off the work order. Overall, Russell Tree is a great company to work with -- from the office staff to the arborists. They are very efficient.

The company is excellent, but I had a small glitch with one of the workers. Otherwise, I really liked them and have already recommended them.

The crew came when scheduled and did a wonderful job in removing both trees and cleaning up afterwards. Very professional and well organized in the entire process. The gentleman who arranged it all was very responsive and quick to get back to me with any questions I had. I would definitely use them again.

Price quoted was $2000 less than two other quotes we got! They were extremely nice, professional. No complaints. They cleaned up afterwards. They may have uprooted some of our neighbor's grass in the process so they told the neighbor they would come back to sprinkle grass seeds in the fall! Overall great experience and price.

Horrible. Waited 5 weeks for tree removal. Showed up late in the day with no phone call. Crew looked at tree and couldn't decide how they wanted to do it so they left to do another job & said they would be back. NEVER came back or even called. This was a signed contract by the way. I had to do all the calling to see what was going on. I took a day off work and used my Sunday to clear the area for them to complete the work. They were going to drop a 4 story tree into the neighbors yard without consulting them. Clearly not a professional group. They did say they could come back and take down the tree but I would not be given any compensation for all the trouble I went thru & lost wages from work. NOT EVEN a 10% Angie's List discount. Would never consider this company again or refer them to anyone. So I had to hire another company and wait another 3 weeks and lose another day of wages thanks to their mess-up.

A new house was being built behind us and the owners had Russell remove a number of trees to prepare the site, but they weren't removing the dead ash trees. We asked Russell if they would contact the owners to see if they would allow Russell to enter their property and remove the ash trees, at our expense. The owners agreed and Russell very promptly removed the trees and took care of cleanup.

The staff was very helpful and responsive. They were also upfront about the length of time needed to schedule the pruning, but were able to begin the disease control right away. They performed the service in the promised time frame, and for the quoted estimate. We were particularly happy with the pruning - the trees look great, and they did a wonderful job with the cleanup afterwards.

Nice job and good people to work with. Per my experience I would recommend them. Contacted them about a tree line at the back of my property that abuts a field. I wanted them to cut down several trees and clear the brush at the line. They just finished the job and I am happy with the service. Although we started the process in March, the weather took a toll on scheduling this to be done. The area I wanted cleaned up was basically a swamp whereas water accumulates there all the time. With all the rain, it was difficult to get this job done. We both agreed to postpone the cutting where they informed me it could be a problem with my yard being it was so wet (and yes, it was very wet). They were concerned it could tear up my lawn in order to get access. We finally got the job done, a bit later than I hoped but it was done. There were several challenges on this job. A dead tree that could come down and take out my shed, water around all the trees, nasty Hawthorne trees with spikes, several factors in the job. I was contacted on the date for the schedule. It worked out fine. My area looks so much nicer now, they cut down the trees I asked for and it was still wet however they got them out. Nice job. It took more weeks to get the stumps ground but they did another nice job (considering the swamp conditions It was still wet there). I'm amazed they did get it all done. All in all what we contracted to do was done and I'm fine with their work. Good people to work with and no surprises.

I communicated my goal of removing over grown trees near the house, removing branches over a neighbors house, and opening up the back yard so grass can grow. With that in mind the Russell Tree estimator (TJ) gave me an estimate for the removal of the trees and additional pricing for some extra work that would open up my back yard. The price was reasonable. I wanted it done a lot sooner than they could schedule to do it (I was wanting work done during a very busy time) and I communicated this. They had a change in their schedule that opened a day and they were able to do it sooner than originally planned. The workers were very professional and cleaned up everything. The grinding of the stumps happened as scheduled a couple of days later. I am very pleased with how everything turned out and will use them again.
