We have a huge silver maple and birch, somehwat smaller but mature Cleveland Pear, all three badly in need of a trim to get out of power lines, away from rooflines, and overall appearance. The Russell Tree guys did an awesome job of thinning, natural looking result, not a "topping" type of cut. Beautiful. We are having them back in spring for fertilizing all trees. Also -- due to my error, we overpaid by $30.00. The office folks caught it same day and called, emailed, to take care of it. Quality work in the field and in the office. Highly recommended.

A medium-sized red maple in my back yard was poorly planted, and was slowly dying. After several years of pruning and treatments, this was the year to cut it down, and I chose Russell Tree Experts to do the job. They responded to my request quickly, and called me a week before the scheduled date to give me time to prepare. Two men arrived around 9am on the scheduled day, spoke to me about the work, and promptly and safely cut the tree down. They cleaned up afterwards, and were completely kind considering that I was melancholy about what had to happen. The tree was not huge, and scheduling it in the winter saved me money. I would work with this company again.

They were terrific. It was an excellent experience. They were great.

Very well. The tree was in the middle of wires and was a tricky job. They did a wonderful job. When they were done, cleaned up. Then the stump grinding crew showed up and finished the job even as it started to rain.Then the next day, they even stopped by and cleaned up some more because of the rain. Very professional and pleasant-everyone I came in contact with.

I am thrilled with the services provided by Russell Tree Experts. I have a huge tree in my back yard that has been dropping huge limbs with every storm, causing significant property damage. I expected to spend at least $500.00 to have done what I wanted to get done but the charge was significantly less than that. They did a fabulous job both with my tree and with handling my difficult neighbor, who was harassing them because he was worried they would drop something on his house, which of course they didn't. They were extremely careful, and did such a nice job of cleaning up after that a friend noted that the area looked cleaner than it ever had. Rarely have I ever been this happy with a job!

Overall, the service was very good. During the estimate I met Joe and he was very professional as well as informed about the emerald ash borer. There was some difficulty of this removal/treatment.

Joe and his crew arrived right on time, walked with me to each tree that needed pruning, answered my questions with expertise and detail. The trees that were pruned included a large birch overhanging an ornamental crabapple, two medium-sized serviceberries, an overgrown weeping cherry and an ornamental hydrangea. The work was completed in about an hour, all evidence of cut branches and leaves were removed and the crew was very polite. I requested additional business cards to share with friends and will call Russell Tree Experts in the future as I know I can count on expert advice and quality work.

My yard has a large number of trees and the leafy coverage was so thick that no grass would grow. I asked Joe to come and see if he could trim some of the trees to provide more sun to the yard without killing the trees. He looked around the yard and made a number of suggestions (including removing some damaged smaller trees and some ash trees) and gave me an estimate. I accepted quickly and as soon as the weather allowed, his team came removed the smaller trees and trimmed the larger ones. Their work was amazing--despite taking out a large amount of material after a ton of rain, the only sign they had been in the yard besides the missing limbs were some drag marks. I do more damage just trimming bushes. Today my trees seem to be doing well and my grass is growing!

They did a very good job and were very reasonable priced compared to some of the others I had come out to do estimates. I would not hesitate to use them again.

They left a stump behind, that I had to have my landscaper clean up. I had asked them to not park their service trucks in my neighbors yards or driveway. They went above me and asked the neighbor if it was okay on one side of my home, and then on the other side they parked there without asking permission from the neighbor. They did not listen to anything I said. I would never hire them again. They were not professional.

I cannot say enough about Russell Tree Experts. I called hoping someone could save my large birch tree...many of the branches had been broken by a large wind storm. They were able to send over Chad, a certified arborist. Chad is a gentleman who knew all about my type of birch and what could be done. He was able to remove all of the damaged brances and still keep an attractive shape to the tree. He even pointed out limbs leaning on the house could be a problem, so he also removed those limbs. There was a perfect cleanup after the work was finished. Chad was fast, efficient and a gentleman. Since I have many trees, I feel so fortunate to find such a qualified young man to help me with any problems that might arrive in the future. After he packed up to go, I found overhanging limbs on another tree. He kindly unpacked and removed those branches without an extra charge. Thank you Russell Tree Experts.

Russell Tree Experts was one of a few companies from whom I requested an estimate for the removal of three apples trees and the pruning of a large silver maple, all in my back yard. Right from the start, the professionalism of Joe Russell was crystal clear. Although he was very busy that week, Joe found the time to get his crew out to my home and have the job completed in a jiffy. The quality of the work was top notch and the crew did everything they promised. What's more, the price was a very pleasant surprise. I have dealt with several tree companies over the years, but none finer than Russell Tree Experts. Joe and his crew will be my go-to guys in the future and I will gladly recommend them to anyone looking for the rare combination of great value, high quality, and consummate professionalism.

They came when they told they would. They were very thorough and efficient. They just seem like a good working group. They cleaned up nicely after work. I would recommend them and they were competitive in their price also.

Joe arranged to meet me within a couple days of my call. He was easy to talk with, taking time to understand my concerns and my trees, was very professional and offered great advice. He seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. He obviously loves trees. He gave me his company's newsletter, which offered tree/yard care tips. He admitted he would likely be higher in cost than some others, reflecting his crew's quality work. The next day or so he emailed me a professional-looking quote that explained all work and terms. I called with a question about one of the costs and he clearly explained. His $700 quote was indeed higher -- nearly double that of smaller companies I contacted. If I had a better yard, more desirable trees and more money, I would want Joe to take care of my trees and yard.

We had chosen them because of the methods they were going to use to take out the trees that were near the house. We figured there would be less damage by the way they chose to remove them. We got a discount for having the work done in the winter and they even shoveled our driveway. When the snow melted, we realized that there were a bunch of branches and saw dust still all over the ground. There were also 3 rather large holes where big parts of the tree had fallen down. So I called the company and they said they would be out to check it. I didn't hear from them for 2 or 3 weeks. I called again and told them I was waiting to call Angie's List until they finished cleaning up. They did come out the next working day and did a great job. As for the holes, they are coming out tomorrow to fill them in. Some aren't too big, but there are a couple that are about 4 or 5 feet long. We are very pleased with the work that Russell's Tree Experts did. One suggestion I have is that when they can't do the clean-up right away due to weather, they write in their appointment book so that they can remember that they still have that clean-up to do.

I would highly recommend this company. They returned my initial call promptly, even though it was a very busy time for them because so many trees had come down during the ice storm. They came the next day and provided me with a very reasonable estimate on the spot. In fact, their price was less than half of what another company had proposed. They came the very next day and had the work done in no time. They picked up all debris and left the yard and our tree looking fantastic. Wonderful experience. I will defifnitely use them in the future.

Owner Joe Russell stopped by and gave us his recommendations. He is very knowledgeable on tree issues, especially Ash trees, which we will have him treat in the Spring. Explained the process for their work, made us feel comfortable with their service from the start. Very competitive pricing and job well done.

We received a glowing recommendation from our neighbor and Joe lived up to that recommendation. We have several mature trees on our half-acre lot that had not been trimmed up by the previous homeowners and had some pretty large dead limbs over the roof and driveway. Joe accomodated our work schedules and came out to do an estimate in the evening. During the estimate, he pointed out that one of our oak trees had a fault in it that could cause the tree to split during a storm. As soon as he pointed it out, we could see what he was talking about and we really appreciated him going above and beyond to potentially save that tree (and our neighbors' cars!) from significant damage. Due to our work schedules, we couldn't be home when they did the work and the only sign they had been here was very neatly stacked piles of wood back by our fire ring. They even chipped and removed a large pile of brush that we had accumulated without us asking and without charging for it. I've always lived in houses on large lots with mature trees, so have learned a lot about tree care over the years and Joe absolutely knows what he is talking about. We were so impressed, we didn't even get other quotes. I am just so thankful our neighbor introduced us to someone who is a certified arborist, so professional, and operating at unbelievably low prices! Joe will be doing all of our tree care for as long as we are in the area.

With some strong wind storms in the winter, we wanted to make sure all our trees were safe and ready for spring. Joe was professional and with our busy schedule, he was able to do an estimate with detailed quote all via email. He made suggestions and provided quotation on these as well for us to make our decision. The quotation was exact to the final cost of the job so there were no surprises. There were some branches that were larger and he made sure to check with us on whether to take it off. Joe and his team are professional and experienced, everything carried out on time and we were pleased with the results.

We chose his company to remove the three trees due to his quick response on the estimation, the cost of the job, his professionalism and the positive reports on Angie's List. Once a date was decided, Joe's crew was on time, his crew was very professional and well trained. I was impressed the caution the crew took of our lawn and our mature hedging along the side of our yard while removing our trees. Joe and his crew impressed us and my neighbors.
