Description of Work: Ed is a nice guy, but apparently the company doesn't need my business. It took about 3-4 weeks and half a dozen calls to get him to come out and look over the driveway re-grade and re-gravel project. Then he said he needed another person to come out and look things over for the 2nd part of the project which would require major excavation work. Second guy never showed. Ed never called back with estimates. I had to call another 3-4 times, and I think I got a verbal estimate. I made a point to wait on this guy and set up a date to begin because his company has a good rep, but he never called back but once out of about a dozen times. I'm sorry things didn't work out because Ed seemed to know what he was talking about.

Description of Work: Well the price was right if I was to receive the 10 tons of gravel needed for the driveway. Few weeks went by and had to call to see when they were going to put down the stone. They had a new truck that shot out the stone in the driveway but there is no way it's anywhere close to 10 tons. Phoned and phoned and phoned to get them to come out to see the stanbding water in the driveway after the job was done. Ed had his son come by to tell me we needed to rake the stone around to fill in the low areas. SURE !! So again phoned and phoned and one day there came the truck with Ed and Friends 10 minutes later with out a word left and little better. Now as with the weather the driveway is back to standing water and now I need more stone. Not sure if the placement of the machine throwing it around or the quailty of the stone is the issue but have had this done number of times . It usually last 2-3 years not 4 months.

+ -1 moreDave was very good to deal with. The product they delivered was a bit substandard, as it had many clay balls, which we here in central Ohio do not need more of! However, it was still useable. The grade below does not reflect their work, but their product.

+ -1 moreI called RKE when the famous ''slinger'' company was unable to get its truck into my driveway from the alley. A smaller truck with that company would've required 4 trips (at $350 per trip) to get as much soil as we did with RKE. Ed Deim was great to work with. He came out and measured to see how much we would need. He recommended a skid loader, i.e. a Bobcat to unload soil in the alley and haul it into the yard. This worked great, as it was also able to compact the soil in many areas. He also split the load to save money. Half topsoil, which was of good quality, half grower's blend. It's perfect. I am so glad that we used this company. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: He brought in 38 yds of topsoil and soil plus.

+ -1 moreI thought he was punctual and accommodating. He worked with me on the price. I was supposed to get a certain kind of gravel and it was mixed from the place he got the gravel (it wasn't his fault). He worked out a deal with them and got a $100 discount because of the mistake. He passed the discount on to me. He was quick to resolve the mistake made by the supplier and gave options on how to deal with it. The job was very well done.
Description of Work: Graded, delivered and spread gravel.

Description of Work: Purchased approximately 20 tons of stone (57's). Had the stone drop spread on a 250' drive.

+ -1 moreEd quoted the job & arrived during the work to assist & make sure the job was done right. They did exactly what I wanted, & were pleasant & efficient. They cleaned up the site after completing the work.
Description of Work: RKE removed a layer of gravel from a side drive; added a top layer of gravel to refurbish the drive. They delivered the new gravel & removed the old using a Bobcat & large truck.

Description of Work: I CALLED AND SPOKE TO THE OWNER ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. HE PROMISED TO COME OUT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON SOME TOPSOIL I WANTED DELIVERED. THE FIRST TIME HE DIDN'T SHOW UP, I CALLED THE COMPANY, AND THEY STATED THE OWNER HAD "LEFT ON AN EMERGENCY". THE SECOND TIME HE DIDN'T SHOW UP, HE SAID HE WAS BUSY IN THE OFFICE, AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO LEAVE "UNTIL AFTER DARK" THE THIRD TIME HE DIDN'T SHOW FOR THE APPOINTMENT, I GAVE UP ON THE COMPANY.

+ -1 moreI CALLED ABOUT 11AM TO ASK FOR AN ESTIMATE HOW MUCH NEEDED AND ESTIMATED COST. DAVE ASKED WHEN DID I WANT THE DELIVERY. THEN HE SAID THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO DELIVER THE SAME DAY. IN ABOUT 3 HOURS THEY CALLED AND OFFERED TO DELIVER THE SOIL. THE DRIVER GOT HERE ABOUT 3 HOURS LATER. ORIGINALLY I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO DUMP THE SOIL ON THE DRIVE WAY, WHICH WAS FINE FOR ME. THE DRIVER, BRIAN, SAID HE COULD SEND IT INTO THE BACKYARD. NOT EXACTLY EVEN WHERE I NEEDED IT, BUT AT LEAST IN THE BACK YARD. THEN HE DELIVERED THE SOIL EXACTLY WHERE I NEEDED IT. NOT TOTALLY LEVEL, BUT EXACTLY WHERE I NEEDED IT. I WOULDN'T HAVE TO MOVE 11 SQ YDS OF DIRT VIA WHEELBARROW. I WAS THRILLED. HE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB.
