Muth & Company Roofing

Muth and Company submitted a detailed bid package including a copy of their Contractor License and a Certificate of Liability Insurance. Another company bid lower, but failed to submit the documents listed above. Kelly Wengerd went over the process that would be followed with me, and I felt more comfortable in dealing with this company. The roofing work was completed in a day and a half. I was present the entire time, and am satisfied that the work was performed according to the bid. The crew was Latino and conducted themselves in a workmanlike manner with no significant issues. Cleanup was done in the manner required by the contract. The roof is attractive and adds to the value of our home. Upon completion of the project, Kelly inspected the job and spent time discussing the process with me. Upon receipt of my final payment Kelly presented a paid in full receipt, a wavier of lien, and the warranty information for the roof.

Very happy with the professionalism of the worker, the timeliness, and the fact that I was not oversold.

They returned my call fairly quickly and came to give an estimate. I was told I had to meet with the salesperson to get the estimate. When we had difficulty scheduling, due to my work schedule, I was told they could mail it to me. This process took about 1 1/2 weeks longer than the other companies who gave me estimates. I'm not sure why they made it so difficult.

SUPERB JOB. THE CREW, WILL, AND DAVID ARE ALL VERY HARD WORKERS AND DIDN'T WASTE ANYTIME. EVERYONE WAS VERY PLEASANT AND COURTEOUS, AND THE WORK WAS DONE IN 2 1/2 DAYS. THEY WORKED UNTIL DARK.

Their bid was in the ballpark with other bids.

Chad Muth figured out the ventilation problems in the attic. He came out to our house several times to help us figure out the type of roofing we needed. He is not a ''salesman'' who just wants the business. He wants to do the correct thing for the customer. He was also came out several times while his crew was working to check on the job him self. Honest business man.

I was pleased with their professionalism. The estimate was very competitive. But, I decided to use a different material than what they were offering.

When I called to make an appointment for an estimate I was told that someone would come out to take a look, gather information and put together a proposal and I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday at this time to go over the proposal. On the next Monday morning two men came out gathered their info and left. Friday came and went with no call or show from Muth. The following week I received a call that they realized they had missed the appointment and wanted to know if I would like to reschedule. He was very nice and said they made a mistake. I declined, they dropped the ball.

Revise the previous report: price should be a b, not an d or f that I think I may have used.

Very informative, efficient estimate. Appears to offer competitive and excellent service, but we went with a less expensive estimate. Of my 3 estimates, this was my second choice. Estimate was for $1200.00.

Over all experience was good. They showed up on time on the day they were to provide me the estimate. They gave me 2 options on how to repair the roof, 1 option guaranteed their work, 1 option did not. I chose the guaranteed option. They also offered to take pics of the existing roof so that I could see (as I didn't climb onto the roof with them) what needed to be repaired. During the repair, they called me for any unexpected issues that came up (aka the gutters and wood replacement) so that I could know what they needed to and the cost. The repair work was performed in a timely basis and all materials were cleaned up. After the repair, they called to make sure I was OK with the work before they charged me for the work. Now, that's service!

They were on time, very good to work with. Price was a bargain. It fixed a long time leak.

It took them a while to contact me regarding the reroof, but it was the busy season, and in the end they did a great job.

Lori started with a roof inspection. Within a week the crew were out working on the roof and gutters. Lori and the crew explained what was done and why they did it. All my questions were answered. They cleaned up very well. Their work seems to be good but I will be able to tell better when it rains. The crew worked full days and even after 5:00 one day. There was one discussion about the patches on the rubber roof but overall their work was complete and good. The company did give us compensation for the patches on the rubber roof. The work on the rubber roof was excellent but it was patched in a couple of places and we felt that it shouldn't have any patches. All the other work was done to our satisfaction.

EXCELLENT CREW, PUT IN LONG DAYS, THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS, THOROUGH IN ANSWERING QUESTIONS. CLEAN UP WAS TOP-NOTCH. SALESMAN GAVE A VERY THOROUGH EXPLANATION OF SERVICE.

Wouldn't give an estimate, and said if they came out to look they would charge at least $250. We went with another company who gave a free estimate and performed the work for less.

KELLY CAME OVER AND GAVE ME A VERY REASONABLE ESTIMATE. HE WAS POLITE AND EVEN ASKED ABOUT MY MOTHERS HEALTH.

We had gotten several estimates and they came in high at first but came down. That influenced our desire to hire them. It was still expensive, but the toppers are very nice and good for 10 years. The installers were efficient and polite. They cleaned up well, particularly the deck. Left some sharp screws in my driveway (maybe 8) that I had to pick up myself to avoid flat tires. Overall, a good experience.

From the person who answers the phone/schedules appointments, to the actual people who did the repairs, everyone was very professional and polite. Lori was especially good at explaining what the problem was and what could be done to correct it. Actually, we have had Muth & Co. come back to do an additional job ($1025.00). When we need an entire roof, we will call Muth & Company!

I really wasn't sure how to handle this company at first. When I called for an estimate, I was told that the representative would come out, take measurements and we need not be present for it. All other companies we checked with wanted us there, so that we could tell them of any problems we were aware of. A few days later, they called to set up an appointment to provide us with the estimate. When the rep came to the house, he had no idea that I also wanted an estimate for the soffit, facia, and gutters. I specifically told the woman on the phone I needed the whole kit & Kaboodle. So this irritated me a bit. He said he had enough info (measurements) to provide the estimate for the gutters, etc... But he really had no idea if some of the existing soffit and facia wood needed replaced. (it was dark when he came). I just don't feel the right hand knew what the left was doing. However, the rep had very good follow up skills after the estimate.

This company really lacked in customer service. They missed the times for our appointments each time it was scheduled. One sales rep. even followed me into my house the minute I got home from picking up my child. He was prepared to give a quote, but not for the items we had requested. Also, they brought a sample board of shingles and NEVER picked it up again, even after I called to let them know we didn't need it. The salesman did not seem concerned that my attic was properly vented, and did not offer appropriate products.

The gutter and wood fascia were installed as outlined in the agreement. The company rep. inidcated that the wood fascia would be delivered to me so that I could paint it before it was installed. That did not happen. The installers neglected to trim the metal flashing back to the edge of the roof before they left so I had to call the company to request they return to trim the flashing. After the flashing was trimmed, water leaked over the edge of the gutter so I had to call back again to request they return and fix that problem. The installers returned, and rigged up some additional flashing at the edge of the gutter to prevent the leaking. So far, the gutter is no longer leaking. There were 6 large gutter nails from the removal of the old gutter left lying in the driveway after the installation.

CAME OUT QUICKLY FOR QUOTE. TRIED VERY HARD TO FIND MATCHING SHINGLES, BUT IT TURNED OUT OUR MAKE AND COLOR WAS OUT OF PRODUCTION. WORKED WITH US TO SELECT GOOD COLORS. ONLY NEGATIVE IS THAT THE REPAIR CREW CAME OUT UNANNOUNCED, WENT UP ON ROOF WITHOUT LETTING US KNOW THEY WERE THERE AND LEFT WITHOUT TALKING WITH ANYONE. I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE BEEN THERE HAD I KNOWN THEY WERE COMING.

THEY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS, DID A GREAT JOB IN PUTTING ON THE ROOF AND FINISHED THE TOUCH-UP WORK I THOUGHT NECESSARY. GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH!
