Muth & Company Roofing

We had a great experience with Muth & Company Roofing for our roof replacement project. Our sales contact was Kelly, He was excellent to work with all the way through the process. Regarding the demo, the crew took great care to protect my house and property while removing the old roof. They made sure all old materials went into the dumpster as soon they were removed from the house. I was impressed with the install crew too: Right tool for the right job by using a crane to lift the new materials onto my roof VS running them all up manually. They were very efficient and worked in pairs as they put on the new roof. Job was completed in one long day which impressed me as i thought for sure it would take more than a day to complete. The GAF Timberline UHDZ shingle with the extra shadow line is a huge improvement from my old shingle. Really makes my house pop. We love the improved curb appeal of our house with the new roof. The crew made sure to clean up before the project was completed and Brian our project manager even did touch up painting for me. Hard to tell they were even here! Overall, clearly a 5 star performance!

What they did in order to do what they had to do is that they removed the heat cap but they did not put it back correctly which made a ventilation problem. Two of them came out with legal document and they were insisting that I should sign the document. I said I wouldn't sign any legal document that was going to cause me to release all potential claims I could ever had with them for the next 50 years.

The roof replacement went very well. We have a ranch with a large steep roof. After getting 4 bids we decided on Muth because they had the most complete quote, detailing all the GAF products they were going to use to get our Gold Pledge lifetime warranty. Because of the size and complexity of our roof it took around 5 days to complete. The fact that we had dry weather was a plus. From Chris, who was our salesman, to the guys who replaced the roof (hot days) they were all very professional. Clean up afterwards was also very good. This is a family owned and operated business and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a quality roof replacement. They are not the cheapest out there but they provide high quality results. As the saying goes “you get what you pay for”.

Very well. Muth made a no-contact inspection, promptly emailed an estimate, scheduled the work promptly. The crew was great; they took pictures so we could see what they found under the old roof, finished in a day, cleaned up and offered an easy on line payment option.

Although I had previously but materials from Muth for our roof to ensure that we had shingles which matched, the company indicated that they needed 50% down. When I questioned this since there were no new material purchases needed, they indicated it was company policy. I continued to question this and Chris indicated he would talk to the owner and get back to me which he never did. We have been a customer of theirs since 2015 when they put a new roof on our old house. In that instance, we were very happy with all aspects of their service, materials, etc. Given our past experience, I ultimately called them back to initiate the work and provided a deposit so we could get the repair done quickly. Mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, they called and indicated they had an opening first thing in the morning defined as 8-9. I agreed to this. Wednesday morning no one showed up within the time window provided and no one called. I called them a few minutes after 9:00 and was told their production department was on another line and she would have them call me back. They called back promptly and indicated that the roofer had arrived later than usual that day due to traffic and he would be out by 10:00am. The roofer arrived by 9:50am and proceeded to do the work. For what little work was done and the short amount of time (22 minutes) the roofer was here, their price of over $300 seem quite excessive as this equates to nearly $900 an hour. Additionally, the "company deposit policy" is out of sync with any other service provider we use. When material purchases are involved, it is understandable that the company would want a sizable deposit but when no materials or limited materials are purchased, most companies require no deposit. This was the situation in this case. Given there poor customer service (Chris), the out of norm down payment requirement, and the high price of the repairs, we can no longer recommend Muth & Company without qualifications on the recommendation. Their quality does appear to be very high.

Two layers of old shingles removed and replaced by Muth & Company. I hadn't decided on which company would get the contract, but after investigation, I decided on Muth Roofing because of the good reviews. I have nothing but good things to say about the company. I would recommend them without hesitation. From Chad, Kelly and the ladies in the office to the crew that installed the roof. All were really great to work with and did excellent job. As a retired business owner, I know working with construction crews and their different personalities can be challenging. The work crew that installed my roof were friendly and professional in every sense of the word. A very nice bunch of installers that worked extremely well together and knew what had to be done. The clean up after install was meticulous with no damage to landscaping, nothing left for me to do but admire my new roof. It is obvious that Chad continues to recruit and train good people! There was even an inspection after the job to check clean up and see if I might have any additional concerns. The following day, Chad followed up by explaining the GAF warranty and submitting the paperwork required by GAF Company rebate program "roofs for troops" promised to veterans. Later I worked directly with Kelly, I could not be happier with the service he provided. Kelly gave me continuous, informative, and helpful advice over the phone about the "roof for troops rebate". He follow up to make sure I received the GAF rebate. Thank you Kelly! I can honestly say Chad and his team are top notch in every regard. We used Muth & Company to replace our roof and gutters this fall and they were amazing from the start. AJ was very informative and communicative. He explained the entire process to us very thoroughly. They had all of their paperwork in order and their estimate was very fair. Additionally, Lisa and the office staff very were easy to schedule with and kept us updated on everything. On the day of, the site manager, Jordan, and his crew were also extremely professional and communicative as well. Overall, every person we interacted with at Muth & Company was highly professional, communicative and diligent. I would highly recommend using their services!

I used Muth Roofing to replace my roof and gutters a couple of years ago. Their estimate was on par with the others that we received. I appreciated that they included proof of insurance, workers compensation coverage and license in their estimation packet. The work was done on time and I have not had any issues with the roof. I was so pleased with their work that when it was time for my elderly parents to replace their roof that I used Muth Roofing for them too. The experience I had replacing my parents was the same I experience on my own. The price was reasonable, the work done on time and with attention to detail. I appreciate the time that Kelly spent with me explaining the options, how the work was going to progress and stopping by during and after the work.

Kelly Wengerd came out to our home on 10/11/19. Kelly was efficient, thorough and professional! Besides resembling one of my best friends in junior high school, he is a nice guy. I would recommend him/Muth and Co.

We noticed that our master bedroom and bathroom were a little chilly last winter since their walls face the attic above our garage. Since they did a nice job on our roof, I hired Muth to install 2x40' of R60 blow-in insulation against the warm walls in the garage. The job went smoothly, and I would hire them again.

There have been a number of small problems, many of which have been fixed. But starting in July 2019, the roof has been giving off a terrible tar smell noticeable in my house, on my front porch, and on my rear deck. I filed a warranty claim with GAF and have also communicated several times with Muth & Company's Sales Manager, Kelly Wengerd, who was assigned to investigate my claim, and with owner Chad Muth. Mr. Muth wrote to me that they were doing everything possible to resolve the problem. In fact, for weeks GAF and Muth have been going back and forth trying to lay off liability on each other and/or trying to prove my witnesses and me to be lying. I made a settlement proposal to Muth that they implement a much better ventilation system in my attic than what they installed last year. It was ignored. Chad Muth and Kelly Wengerd have suggested nothing at all as a remedy for this problem. BTW, I am a 69-year old cancer patient with asthma and lung damage from radiation and am being forced to live with toxic chemicals from the roof. UPDATE: I gave Muth/GAF access to my home twice before Chad Muth wrote his response below. It is false that I refused any ventilation changes. I agreed to whatever Muth recommended, like changing the exhaust vents on two sections of roof and all the bathroom vents. It is also false that I insisted my old power vent be reinstalled. I knew it was burnt out. Muth suggested they replace it with another power vent and selected one with inadequate capacity. Now Muth wants to charge me to install passive vents that are incompatible with a power vent, and won't tell me where the new vents would go unless I give in to his inspection demands. Muth also refuses to correct the gutter issues his company caused unless I give in to his demands. We are at a stalmate.

Selected Muth even though higher priced ~20%. Proposal was thorough and sales guy responsive. Crew that installed roof was top notch. New room looks beautiful. So far worth the extra money.

I originally contacted Muth & Company because of a slowly draining downspout. The worker pulled out two golf balls and a bird's nest. A few months later, I hired Muth to replace the roof of our 18-year-old house since the roof was estimated to be 80% through its service life and had sustained hail damage the previous year. They also vented the upstairs bathrooms, added baffles in the attic, and installed leaf guard to problem areas of our gutters that were accumulating leaves and bird nests. Elaina was helpful in discussing the various options and clearly explained the work to be done. We selected Timberline HD shingles in charcoal, and our roof looks really sharp. The quality of the materials is apparent, too. I also have peace of mind from the transferable warranty. I liked working with Muth & Co. and would hire them again.

Very professional. The work looks great! This is the third time we have used Muth and each time they have been great to work with. They have done work on our roof and our soffits in the past.

They came out and completed more work for the same cost as fixing the leak. Everything has been dry and looks good!

They cancel the 1st appointment because of rain yet came back in the rain They did check the roof and looked in they attic and hammered in some loose nails on gutters No repairs were made that I was looking for Because of the rain They did give me an astronomical estimate for insulating the attic That I am considering reporting to the Better Business Bureau

Did not use. Price was much higher than two other bidders. Package offered was excellent and well presented.

They were scheduled for a Monday install. I took the day off work, not getting paid, and my dad was there, to be available during the install. They specified the dumpster would be delivered by 7:30 AM. They didn't show up. My dad called at 8:00 AM and was told they were at the shop and that they would be there within the hour. They didn't show up. My dad called again at 9:00 AM. The scheduler then actually called the crew and it was determined the crew went to a Tuesday job site, instead. Had the scheduler actually called the crew when they were first contacted by my dad, they could have been there. They rescheduled for Wednesday, were there, and did a satisfactory roofing job. After the work was completed, my dad communicated our displeasure. Since, I was out a day's wages. We asked for some minor relief, i.e. part of the balance due (which was $300), and we were rebuffed. When presented with the issue of lost wages, the Muth representative only stated that he didn't need to be there and that wasn't a consideration. Their website states "each staff member’s role revolves around making sure you’re happy with our customer service." It appears Chad Muth is only interested in his bottom line and not delivering the stated customer service. Real customer service would have helped offset some of my lost wages, due to lack of thoroughness in the follow-through when Muth was originally contacted.

Requested quote on asphalt roof and gutters with shields. Company required an appointment to present their quote. Quote prepared did NOT include gutters, but did include a full presentation of their "roofing system". Salesdroid did do the quote for gutters in about 10 minutes on the manila folder based on numbers he had memorized and measurements he took. I just didn't like that they didn't listen to me the first time. Went with another company that listened to what I wanted.

I was impressed with Muth and Co from start to finish. We experienced a leak after a heavy rain. Three roofers were called for estimated. Muth was the only one who got back to us with an estimate. Perhaps they felt the job was too small to be worth their time. What impressed me the most was that Muth made a temporary fix to the area when they came to give an estimate. They did it without knowing they would get the job! I knew right then I was hiring them. Heavy rain was on the way again and it was a huge relief. They price was very reasonable. In addition, the job took some creativity. I will only use Muth and Co in the future, and and have been telling others about them.

Great! It took a couple months for them to get me scheduled in, but that wasn't a problem. I was not having a problem with the roof--I just wanted to be winter ready. Their service plan includes inspection of roof including for issues that could cause leaks; minor resealing around chimney, vents, collars; checking for loose or missing shingles and nails pops; checking for interior leaks; and a summary report (with pictures) They were very professional.

Very well. I spoke with Chad Muth before and after the work was done and he is great at explaining what needs done and more importantly why it needs done. My limited interactions with the crew was pleasant and the cleanup was great. Very happy with Muth Roofing and happy recommend calling them if you have roofing needs. I found their prices to be good and I didn’t feel like I was being up-sold as with other estimates. Actually it was the opposite when Muth explained the option that seemed best for me and it was cheaper than what other estimates said I need done.
