Muth & Company Roofing

The owner came to the house and sat down with us and told us what types of roofing were the best and what would be a good choice. We were concerned about color, and he gave us a couple addresses of houses with different colors of roofs. We were really happy with the color, they were here the amount of days they said they would be. They did a great job and I haven't had any problems. I think they are the number one roofer in the area. They are above and beyond the other companies.

I called and they said they would call me back and they never did so I had to call them and they said they would come on a Saturday and they never showed up. I had used them once before and I liked the service I received before but this time around I was pretty disappointed.

Overall it was outstanding they did a great job one of the best contractors that I have ever worked with. They were very informative and upfront and how long it would take and went over the cost and it was exactly accurate.

They were good communicators and they kept to the schedule. They cleaned up after and were very careful. Everything went very well.

They were prompt and very professional. Customer updates and providing information was excellent. Cleanup was superb & complete. The workers were considerate of my young children and all our in & out of house. Finished in a day & half. Good follow up after.

They were very professional they were very friendly. They did what they said they were going to do and more, and they did not charge anymore money. They are very prompt on the phone call.

The sales experience was very good and informative. There was no high pressure. Out of all the companies we looked into they were the most engaging. Their price was close to other's. They were very quick and it looks like the job was done very well. I have no complaints and I am glad I chose them.

They were honest and told me they could not do the job and they referred me to another company. They were on time and very professional.

They were good with what I asked them to do. Two months later my skylight window has leaked. I don't know if that is their fault or not. Other than that they did good work. I would recommend them and use them again.

The representative came out, inspected the roof and returned with a detailed estimate/contract, details about the company, warranties, manufacturer's information, etc. Their estimate was best value of the three (different vendors) I requested. I was given a web site to browse that had various colors and styles that could be combined with different home types. I was also given a list of addresses of maybe 10 other houses in my zip code where Muth had installed the same style and color roof that I was considering. Once the work started, the workers were punctual, hard working. The work was interrupted by a hard rain midway through the second day, but the workers covered exposed perimeters and everything was fine when they resumed work in two days. Supervisors inspected the work as it was proceeding. I was concerned about damage (from occasionally falling debris) to plants around the house, but everything recovered. The workers gathered (with magnets) nails and stray roofing material around the house before they left after a long third day on the job. They had another inspector come by early the next week to review the work before they requested final payment. One of the vents had not been painted and the inspector painted it before he left.

This was the first time I have used this company. I am very pleased. They gave me a quote and it was on budget. They came back and fixed something with out me even knowing there was a problem. They were on time and cleaned up after. They were a lot lower price wise than a couple other companies that I had called. They were not trying to sell me additional services. I was given the company owners cell phone number as well, which was good to have.

The woman in charge one worker didn't come in on time, but she made sure he came out on time, and he came to work and did a very good job.

They told us we had to redo the whole roof. They sent out their best man to give us the estimate, my husband was impressed with this gentleman and the price. Then a salesman from this company came out and gave us a different price, we went ahead and gave them the down deposit. We then got a third different price and my husband said that we were not going to proceed with the work, so we canceled the work and put stop payment on the check. We will not use this company.

Muth did a great job, from cover-to-cover. The sales agent was very informative and patient with our questions, was there when we called, and quick to respond to our needs. When the job got close, we heard from their crew manager, who discussed a few details with us including the start date. The crew was professional and courteous - the whole job was finished in 3 days. One night they left one section unfinished (it got too dark), but they covered everything up with a protective-sheet. The foreman hit two home runs for us, first by agreeing to help clean the glass on one of our skylights, and second by going out of his way to use our paint (matched our house trim) to paint the flashing pieces that laid up against our stucco - had to be done by hand with a brush (instead of sprayed), and looked a lot better than the generic shingle-color-matching spray paint would have. Cleanup each day was good, but I did find a few nails around the place after the fact, but only a few - nothing serious. I would easily recommend Muth and Co to anyone looking for a new roof or repairs. I like their company a lot - I like their people, the product they provide, and the quality of their workmanship. We originally received quotes from 3 different roofers - Muth and Co was in the middle of those three.

They did a wonderful job. They didn't make a mess at all and they even checked the grass with magnets in search of nails they may have dropped. I would highly recommend them to anybody. They answered any little question that we had and they were able to direct us in our concerns.

A salesman came to help us choose the shingles and give us an estimate. Three weeks later they came to put the roof on. They hauled the old shingles away and did a great job of cleaning up. The crew was friendly, punctual and courteous. I am happy with their work.

Muth was great to work with. They worked with our mold remediation specialist and repaired the fascia where water had been getting in, and they sealed the boots on the roof. They used a gutter-extruding machine to create our 6-inch gutters on site. The covers carry a 10-year manufacturer's warranty plus there's a warranty from Muth. They also replaced the pieces at the bottom of the downspouts, and didn't charge me for it. Today, we had a torrential downpour. I went outside, put my ear to the downspouts and heard water rushing down each one (before, only one downspout worked). I also looked at all the gutters, and no water was pouring over the tops (unlike before). The gutters look terrific and work perfectly. The company was very good to work with. Estimator, repair and installation staff, billing and the owner went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the job. The repair person came while I was at work and left a detailed note. installers were punctual, polite, neat and explained everything. It was nice having them around. Afterwards, I received calls from both the estimator and the owner to make sure I was happy with the job. The woman who handles the billing accidentally put all the charges on my credit card during one billing cycle instead of two, as I had requested. When she realized the error, she called to apologize. Afterwords, we got a nice surprise. She sent us a charming letter, again apologizing for the error, and gift cards to a local steakhouse to make it up to us. This company aims to please!

Most thorough and informative initial presentation, exceptional; close monitoring of work in progress; and crew cleaned up so meticulously. I would not have known they were here at all. I'm very happy with their work.

This was the second trip that Muth came to do the job. It was not completed correctly the first time and, instead of calling them to explain my problem, I wrote a very negative report on Angie's List - much to my regret. As soon as I called and they realized I was not a satisfied customer, they made every effort to get the job corrected to my satisfaction. Instead of making excuses (which I loathe) they made an apology and got to work. I felt as if I was their only customer! Two guys, John and Ryan, came out and just did a magnificent job of fixing the problem and making sure I was happy with the results. I must say that I really felt bad about the report that I wrote and wished I had called first because Muth responded in a quick and professional manner. I strongly recommend Muth for any roofing and gutter problems because if they make a mistake (and who doesn't) they are determined to correct the problem without excuses. It's obvious that customer satisfaction is a high priority for them.

Work done when promised, knowledgeable sales person, excellent quality and good clean up after work.

Easy to set up estimate & meet to select materials & sign contract; reps. very cooperative & flexible. As a single woman, recently widowed, I never felt taken advantage of or manipulated. I was never afraid I was being taken advantage of or scammed. I contracted in the fall & work was to begin in spring. (Please keep in mind that my house was built during the 1930's). Due to uncontrollable weather events, job was delayed & delayed. Weather kept events from happening as described, adding difficulties: warning at least one day in advance of materials delivery & work starting, arrival of waste container for roof removal, visits to inspect work, cleanup, completion, etc. When roof removal started, price increased $3,000 because 3 sets of old shingles and one set of shakes found beneath top roof & no decking was installed as base (not predicted) & they needed to purchase more materials to establish decking on which to install new roof. Also, heavy cast iron bathroom vent was not previously anchored correctly so when crew dropped it during roofing process, a hole was punched in floor of attic, breaking through lathe in bathroom ceiling, dumping plaster into bathtub, on floor, etc. These problems caused much aggravation, extra day of work for roof crew, 4 trips by another subcontractor to fix bathroom ceiling (at no charge), escalating cost, etc. I can understand that these were not the result of shabby work or carelessness by company but still created anxiety & additional cost. As explained to me they were unavoidable but they will be my lasting memory. Crew that installed roof was immaculately clean (yard & patio looked better than before they came); next crew which came to install soffits left debris everywhere. I made 4 calls about cleanup, which manager (not crew) came to do. I am contracting to get new garage roof which will hopefully go smoother. My main issue that I feel they could correct is internal communication. With so many people/crews working together, it is hard to get everyone on the same page, schedule. Estimates/inspections/attention promised by one person didn't happen because the "other guy" who was supposed to complete the order didn't get the word or respond correctly. I requested that my garage roof estimate be prepared during conclusion of roof; it is 3 weeks later & it just happened yesterday & materials have to be ordered. We used Muth in the past for smaller jobs (gutters, downspouts, etc.) and I would use them again but the roof could have definitely gone better. It is important to know however that they were very generous in adjusting costs to compensate & the quality of the materials & warranty are excellent.

This job was done to address wind damage to my roof. The first step in the process is for someone to come out and look at your roof and take measurements & evaluate the job. I dealt with Kelly Wengerd, their roof consultant. They will then prepare an estimate and sit down with you and explain exactly what your roof needs and more importantly, why. You will get an education in roofing systems and how they work. Kelly was in direct contact with my insurance company throughout the process as well. This proved to be a great asset to have on your side. The insurance company's estimate fell short of Muth's estimate and after talking to Kelly and hearing why it was higher, the insurance company agreed to pay the amount of Muth's estimate. Everything went as planned and the roof looks great. You will always be able to get someone on the phone and your calls will be promptly returned. They also did a really good job cleaning up too. If you have any roofing needs, look no further.

The roof consultant, Kelly Wengerd, was knowledgeable. The roofers came on time and worked until the roof was completed enough to prevent rain from entering (although it didn't rain). They returned the next day to complete the job and clean up. Their clean up procedure was excellent. All in all a good job.

The man that came out was extremely knowledgeable. He contacted my insurance company to work out the details with the estimator. Everything worked out really well.

The presentation was very good. They know their product. They started when promised, and completed the job in 2 days. Home is approx 200 sq feet.
