+ -1 moreMy roof was damaged due to the recent storm so I contacted Muth & Co. Roofing because I had used their service in the past and knew they were a reputable company that performed quality work. I called for service on 9/15, their rep. was out to give an estimate on 9/22 (well within the time frame I was given when I called) and the repair was made on 9/25. Considering the demand for their service after the storm, I feel their response time for the estimate and performance of the repair was more than timely, and I greatly appreciated the follow-up call from Bruce after the repair was completed.
Description of Work: Nail down cap and replace cap shingles plus replacement of blown off shingles on several areas of roof.

+ 0 moreThey did a great job from beginning to end. The salesman used to work in the field so he spoke from experience. He was always accessible and returned phone calls promptly. There was no pressure during the sales presentation or afterward and things were scheduled very quickly once we decided to use Muth. Everything went exactly as they said it would and was finished on time. The crew was very courteous and friendly and did an excellent job on the new roof. They cleaned the gutters and everything around the house so well you couldn't even tell they had been there. We are VERY pleased and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They removed the old roof and put on a new one, including ridge vents in place of old hat vents.

+ 0 moreI thought they were great. Representative came out and spoke to us about the estimate and their services. Not condescending, no schmarmy sales pitch, just presented their services. The actual work was done very efficiently. The only problem (and this was out of their control) was the horrendous rain storm that tore through Columbus the day that they removed all of the shingles from our roof! We had some minor water damage in one room. When I called them, they came out, inspected the damage, and repainted the room! I was very pleased with the service we received and with the roof.

+ 0 moreThere were a few problems, but they did fix them. One was that a roofer stepped through the roof, and the debris went into my living room and landed on my new camera. They did resolve that issue. But the roof was replaced well. All the attic areas and the garage did have a coat of dust on it after. They did stay in contact and resolved all the problems. The quality of their work was good, they came out on time, and they got the job done in a timely manner.

+ 0 moreWe had some roofers come for an estimate, but did not want to offer an estimate, only wanted to know what our insurance company would pay. Muth and Co. was the only one to offer an estimate. Kelly educated us on the type of roof we needed and he worked with our insurance company so we were able to have a life time roof warranty. In addition, their clean up was superb. We could not have been happier with Kelly and even Janelle in the office. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I found Muth and Co. on AL as one of the highly rated companies who offered a discount to AL members. They did a tear off and replaced our roof. They also installed gutters and down spouts.

+ -1 moreVery easy to work with. We were gone on vacation for a week, and they were more than willing to work around that. I don't like having work done on the house when we're gone. :-) They called on a Monday morning to say they'd be out sometime late in the week, and then they continued to update us throughout the week. It took them about 2 days to finish the job. I was very impressed with the four-man crew; they worked methodically and not too fast as to be sloppy (like I've seen with other roofing contractors). At night on the first day, they cleaned up everything without a nail or staple to be found. At the end of the second day, they again cleaned up the yard completely. The project manager came out to inspect the job a day later and also asked us if everything was done to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: New roof installation with GAF Timberline 30-year dimensional shingles. Complete tear off of old roof. Installation included new flashing as necessary, drip edge, new ridge vents, and hat vents where required. Existing galvanized steel flashing under second floor windows (installed up under the siding) was retained since it was in good condition. They painted the steel flashing, soil stack, and heat stack to match the roof. I received estimates from two additional companies based on Angie's List reports. Those two estimates were nearly identical in price but were less than Muth & Company; they used Owens Corning 30-year dimensional shingles. I believe there's a quality difference between Owens Corning and GAF, particularly with the warranty. The project manager for Muth & Company personally delivered the quote, and took time to go through in detail all of the materials that would be used as well as explain all aspects of the project. He even left shingle samples so we could decide which color to go with. In fairness, one of the other companies personally delivered a quote and took the time to explain the project. Given the excellent GAF product, warranty, and the good impression of their project manager, I decided to use Muth & Company even though they were the most expensive.

+ -1 moreThey had said early on that they would be in the mid to high level price range, and they were, but there were a lot of things they had that separated them from the others. They fulfilled most of the things they stressed that separated them. Overall it was well done. We did get a good job out of them. They had told us that it may be a couple of weeks before they could come out, but they were actually able to come out within a few days and finished the job in one day. The only things that they didn't do was they put the shingles over the peak of the roof, but they apologized for that and said it should be okay because it was a one day job and the weather hadn't changed much. They also said at the beginning that they would cover the deck and air conditioner, but in the end they didn't. They did have a reason, which made sense, but I was still a little disappointed. I still do think that they are the best choice for roofing. Anything they couldn't do they either explained or took care of.
