Muth & Company Roofing

We first hired a housing inspector to look over the attic and advise us about what to do about insulation. Then we had Muth come in to see what they would do and for how much. Then we had the housing inspector look over their proposal and he said it was exactly as it should be done and the price was reasonable. Muth came out and added baffles where we had none and blew in additional insulation to raise the insulation factor considerably. They even checked the venting from the bathrooms below and we knew from what the housing inspector had told us that they did that correctly as well. Then we got three estimates for replacing our roof. Muth was the only one that pointed our a ventilation problem the housing inspector had also mentioned. Once the ventilation was addressed, it would give longer life to the shingles over that part of the house. We had at least three meetings with Muth before signing a contract. We drove by houses they had done in the shingle we were interested in. They checked out with Angie's List and with the BBB as well. Ours was a large job requiring replacing a about 70 linear feet of boards, tearing out two old flat metal parts of the roof and replacing with rubber, changing the roof venting system and adding an electric exhaust vent in the roof over the part that had no ventilation. The job took 5-1/2 days because of the rainy weather. All was well covered when they left for the day. They cleaned up after themselves, including several passes with rolling magnets to pick up any stray nails in the yard near the house...we have dogs so that was appreciated. The four roofers were quiet and worked well together. There were no blaring radios or any other non-work related noise. We would recommend them to anyone interested either in insulation or roofing.

The workers arrived on time. They did the inspection. Done in 1 hour. Very professional. They spotted some misc repairs that may need to be done. They left me an estiamte for the repairs. I can decide at a later date on which repairs to have done.

I was not told in advance of the installation date,there were 2 men they went to work immediately and continued working until they completed the job. However, there were two small holes in the downspout near the gutter and I had to call the company back to fill them. This was perfectly done. The gutters color matched the house perfectly.

They were great. The quote was accurate. The repair was fantastic. They were great and communicating with me about completing the job.

The Big Deal seemed like a scam to us. And it was a giant inconvenience because they were 3.5 hours late.

Called for an estimate to have a new roof installed. Spoke with a female who said someone would call me back to setup a appointment. Never heard back from them. They get a "C" for responsiveness in answering the phone. My wife thinks I should give them an "F" but I'm giving them credit for answering the phone.

I had 4 or 5 roofing coapines gve me an estaiet,. most competeive. more comprehenise shoing me the pahses that i would be going though. They verte dteh roof and soffirts. They replaced shinegles. They went around chimeny flashing. They added a hat vent at the etop. venbted exhaust fans out to the roof.

They were professional, timely, hard workers. They did a great job. They had to remove shingles and put holes in the deck to install vents and they work perfectly. They replaced some shingles and the finished job looks beautiful. 8/18/11 - UPDATE - THE SINGLES USED FOR THE ROOF VENTS WERE INFERIOR TO THE ORIGINAL ROOF AND FAILED @ ONE SPOT. WHEN I CONTACTED MUTH ABOUT THE PROBLEM, THEY WANTED $300 TO FIX THE THREE SHINGLE AREA AS THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. WHEN I HAD REPAIR DONE BY SOMEONE ELSE I WAS TOLD THAT THE ORIGINAL SHINGLES THAT MOTH USED FOR VENTS WERE PRONE TO FAILURE - AND NOT THE SAME QUALITY I HAD ON THE ORIGINAL ROOF. ALSO, THE NAILS MUTH USED TO SECURE THE VENTS WERE TOO SHORT (AND I'M TOLD, THE REST OF THE MUTH WORK WILL MOST LIKELY FAIL EARLY). I WILL NEVER USE MUTH AGAIN - AND NOW WORRY ABOUT THE GUTTER WORK THEY DID.

They were a few minutes late but called to let me know (it was not an issue), very professional and communicated their inspection to me. The person that dealt with me was very professional and answered all of my questions. Excellent transaction from start to finish. They will be out at a later date to install the Heat stack and fix that area so I will follow up when that happens.

They did a good, no nonsense job. We have a 14 yr old weathered roof so it was hard to match the shingles but they got close enough - and the repair site was not remarkably visible to viewers (was in a valley in the back of the house) anyway. Before his estimate, the supervisor John went up on the roof and inspected it and showed me the weak spots; he advised that 50% of the shingles were not installed well originally (which was not a shock to me), but they would repair the obvious problem site for now and keep an eye on the rest of the roof in the future (and save us from an immediate replacement of the entire roof). The other estimators we contacted did not go on the roof but viewed it from the gutters. Also, Muth's estimate was $100 less than the other estimates.

All of the staff were very nice and were ready to answer any of my questions. They got right back to me after the inspection and let me know that they would be coming out to do my repairs. I did not have to call them to find out what was going on because they kept me updated about my status. They cleaned up all debris and my roof looks much better.

They did a lovely job. They were professional, friendly, neat and clean. They came when they said they would come and were done quickly. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

In February, we discovered that the roof was leaking badly, damaging ceilings in part of the house and causing high humidity and mold/mildew to form on exterior walls and windows. We selected Muth & Company based on Angie's List reviews and past experience with the company. They responded promptly, provided very good guidance on roofing options, and performed the work quickly and efficiently. They were very professional and were very attentive to the needs of the homeowner.

They seemed very efficient. My roof ended up leaking again after 2 years so I called him and he told he had a deal going with Angie's List. I signed up for Angie's List and found the Big Deal they were running and signed up for it. He said he will repair my roof for $100, he said before it would cost $300, and still honor the service plan for the Big Deal. I feel like he went out of his way for me and I appreciate that. I am going to give me a B for my overall experience for now and will change it after they complete the work.

Their service was prompt, competively priced, and thorough. All looks great.

We had a hole in our roof where a branch had fallen through it during the last ice storm. The hole was about the size of a silver dollar. We called Muth & Co on the day that the hole was discovered, and they were able to come out and inspect the roof and provide us with an estimate within three business days. The roofing company we used in the past wanted to schedule us for an estimate two weeks later even though we had a hole the entire way through our roof. Muth & Co evaluated our patch job and indicated it would hold until they could get out to do the repair. Their scheduler called us to let us know that we were in the work cue, and they were out here to fix the roof within 4 days of inspecting it and giving us an estimate. The crew showed up promply when they said they would and repaired the roof. They worked efficiently and cleaned up all of the debris and materials. We are extremely pleased with our experience and would not hesitate to contact Muth & Co for future services. We will also recommend them to our friends and family.

Muth & Co Roofing did a good job in repairing our roof. When they came out to do the estimate, they were very methodical in trying to diagnose the problem. They were willing to look over several times to make sure that they were not missing anything. We were quite confident that they had done a good job of diagnosing the issue, so we chose them for the work. They were very punctual; in fact came early. If we needed to, we would use them in the future.

The work was covered by insurance, as it was storm damage. They were professional and presentable. I liked the way they worked with my insurance company better than someone else. They made the insurance company come out and inspect the roof. The owner was the first person who came out. I was very pleased with the way they presented all the information. Their quality of work was very good. They covered all the shrubs. They made sue that the roofs which had fell off, were picked up. They were very consciences about the plants around the house. They patched one of the stacks and it ended up looking new. I was very happy with the overall work and the quality of work. I would highly recommend them. I would not be able o say anything about the price, as it was covered by insurance. I think they were slightly more expensive. They were very prompt in getting back if I had a question. They were punctual. They came when they said they would be and got the job done. I would consider using them in future.

Extremely satisfied with end product. Cleaned up all areas with care. Very friendly and timely with work. We are very satisfied.

The job went very well. They were on time. They took care of things as promised. They were extremely meticulous. They didn't leave any debris afterwards. The roof looks great. They did quality work. At the same time, there was no mess afterwards. They were very conscious of the work that they were doing.

It went great. About 11:20, I rec'd a call that the crew was on their way. Two guys showed up and removed a LOT of ice from the gutters on our second story and on the first story gutters, behind the great room. They had explained their charging policy [which had been explained by Holly, as well] $175 for the first hour; $75 per hour, after that. They both worked together the whole time they were here, as even setting up a ladder on our deck, with the ice and snow build up, was treacherous. It is VERY hard to walk on, at this point, after repeated freezing and thawing, within the last week. [we had an ice storm last week and had 1.75" of ice on EVERY horizontal surface, followed by about 9 hours of solid rain] They checked our other gutters, as well. I called the office and Kelly gave me the coupon discount of $25 for being an Angie's list member.

At the beginning you have to wait for the supplies. But I had them doing so much that one crew would go in and then another crew would come in as soon as the first one finished. As they were coming in if there was anything else that needed tweaking, they would just fix it without even charging me.
