Description of Work: They came out to give me an inspection. They crawled all over the roof, very thoroughly. They didn't find any evidence of roof damage, which I found very honest. They informed me of the service they offer for winter preparation which includes shingle inspection, clearing gutters, inspecting the roof again. They also looked in the attic.

+ -1 moreI needed to have a variety of gutter repair and replacement work done. I had a couple other previous estimates done but wanted to see if Muth & Co. could beat the price and provide more professional service. Muth & Co. was friendly and punctual: They arrived the very next day on time to investigate what was needed. They took pictures and provided a professional estimate. The only problem -- and it is a big one -- is that they offered an estimated cost that was approximately three times higher than the others. While Muth & Co. may have eventually provided superior service and done good work, I would recommend not to use their services if they continue to charge this much. UPDATE: Having read the company's response I now see that the price was not as high as I thought. I have revised my review as appropriate. That said, it was indeed an error on their part to combine the costs of the estimates and the work request is not sufficiently clear, in my opinion. Their price was still higher than a competitor's estimate, but given the professionalism Muth & Co. has shown, I would be more inclined to use them in the future.

+ -1 moreThe sales rep was very knowledgeable and quick to respond to my phone calls and questions. He provided precise information regarding the roof we would be getting: the materials, the roofing crew, the inspection process, etc. The roof was installed at the time the sales rep said it would be installed, and the crew did not smoke while on the job (I had requested that no cigarettes be smoked on our property). Everything went smoothly. The sales rep's follow-up was within an appropriate amount of time. I liked the fact that Muth Roofing gave us a set price, instead of a price that they intended to change based on how much our insurance company decided to reimburse us.

+ -1 moreEverthing went very smoothly and Muth was very responsive to my questions and concerns. The refund of the inspection deal was the right thing to do.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal to have an attic inspection. Workers arrived promptly and looked at the attic insulation, took a few pictures to show me that I needed additional insulation etc. They provided a quote to blow-in insulation. The quote was for about $1200. After they left I felt like I had just paid for a quote which seemed rather odd to me. I called Muth directly and learned that they do come out at no charge to determine attic insulation needs. I contacted Angie's list and requested a refund of the deal I purchased as I stated I felt like the deal was a way to pay for the company to come out and provide me a quote. Angie's List did provide a refund of the deal I purchased. I did have Muth do the insulation work they provided in the quote. The guys who came were prompt and went about the work very efficiently and when complete they cleaned up and literally left not a flurry of insulation laying around. It was an extremely hot day to be working in the attic yet they worked hard in a very hot, humid attic. They added wood around the opening to my attic so the insulation would not tumble out of the attic opening. I did think that was rather rudimentary solution and not very professionally finished. After the work was completed I requested a representative from Muth to come and inspect as I was uncomfortable with the finishing job and wanted to make sure enough baffles were installed. A man came out and inspected the work and assured me that it was done correctly and the wood added to the sides of the opening to the attic was typical for an unfinished attic. All in all they did provide a great amount of insulation and an appropriate amount of baffles. I do not recall the exact date the work was done however it was done withing the last 12 months.

+ 0 moreMuth & Co Roofing did the inspection, everything was fine, and I'm happy. My roof is a few years old and I have a skylight. I just wanted someone to come out and check that it was still in good shape because we've had a few storms and so forth. It is a 2-story house and we didn't want to go on the roof and look at it. We had them come out and inspect and make sure everything was still sound, and it was. They were thorough and we appreciated the honesty of not trying to create follow-on work. I don't remember there being any problem with their punctuality.

+ -1 moreNoticed early one morning a wet ceiling in the second floor bedroom. Turns out during the two day rain storm, we lost shingles. The guys came out and put some sealant on the roof while the storm continued. The leak was fixed. Then about a week later they came back and fixed that part of the roof. While they were up there, they also found another area that was also in trouble and they fixed that too without adding to my bill. Very happy with these guys and will definitely use again. Hopefully next summer for an entire re-roof.

+ -1 moreThey were incredibly professional and took extreme care to protect our house. The cleanup afterwards was terrific and we did not have to follow up behind them! They took the time to explain all their work and gave us photos showing each improvement. We are extremely pleased with their work. We have no complaints and no tips on things to avoid. Muth did a great job.
Description of Work: Installation of additional insulation in our attic space. This raised the R-19 value up to a R-38. They also placed baffles between the rafters to improve air circulation.They also corrected the bathroom vents which were venting directly into the attic space.They installed flex hoses to the bathroom fans and used flapper vents to directly vent to the outside. They also repaired some damage from a renegade raccoon that had temporarily lived in the attic.

+ -1 moreWe had some leaking in the house and they inspected the roof and found the soilboots were not tight, pulling away from the roof. They gave us a price and we decided to have them do the gutters while they were here. This is the second time I have used them, last time to repair/replace part of the back gutters. I was happy with their work then as well as now. They were able to work with me on a 2 part payment schedule which fit our budget. I find them always courteous and patient with my questions.
Description of Work: They removed shingles around 2 soilboots on the roof, installed ice and water shile, new soilboots and new 3 tab diftwood shingles to match the existing roof. They then cleaned all the gutters and downspouts as needed. The cleaned up and hauled away the debris.

+ 2 moreTotally professional from the estimate visit to the actual work. Rather than replace a damaged roof vent they advised to leave it as it was still weather tight and if replaced would NOT match the other two vents. Since I'd bought the house in 2004 the flashing around the fireplace chimney was directing water down the side of the house rather than around the chimney and towards the gutters. They said they could do that as part of repairing the storm damage to the flashing. I'd long wanted to have the 2nd floor bathroom fan vented outside and Muth gave me a great price as they were already going to be here for the other repairs. I'm 100% satisfied with their work.
Description of Work: FIrst, they replaced the rear 2nd story gutter that was damaged during the June 29 wind storm. They also repaired and modified the flashing around my fireplace chimney, which was also damaged and also needed adjustment to keep water from pouring down the side of the house. Thirdly, they installed a bathroom fan vent through the roof for a fan that previously had vented inside the attic.

The cost was very high, but similar to other quotes we'd received so probably a fair price. We've had zero issues with the performance and function of our new roof and gutters. The quality of the work was excellent.
Description of Work: 2 layers of shingles were torn off. New dimensional shingles, a ridge vent, gutters and leaf guards were installed.

+ -1 morell...Don't have storm damage, but if you do, be sure to call Muth if you are interested in quality and attention to your problems.
Description of Work: Storm damaged roof (shingles on the ground) so neighbor expressed satisfaction with Muth roofing so I gave them a call. Very prompt emergency assistance and great help from Muth representative Sid Huck. Sid helped with the insurance adjuster and the net result is a quality product applied in a timely manner and the job was done in two days. Crew was efficient and careful to clean up after completion. Shingle manfacturer inspected job about 3 weeks later, and everything was excellent. What more could one ask?
