Contacted 5 contractors for opinions on mold growth on garage wall. Zack was the first to respond and the only one who correctly diagnosed the problem. The others either didn't know or just wanted me to throw money at it. I was for sure there was a window leak causing it and Zack pointed out condensation due to ducts running up inside the walls. He is smart and honest - I've found my mold remediation guy I will refer to my clients.

Zach and his crew responded promptly to my request. He came out to clean up an area of visible water damage/mold that had resulted in the unfinished side of my basement. He took the time to answer my questions regarding spore containment, moisture management, etc. When talking about future options for other mold found in my basement he took into account my health and financial situation to let me choose an ideal solution for my mold problem. Zach from Mold Mentor was awesome. He replied to my request for an inspection almost immediately, and was able to work me into his schedule within a couple of days. His communication was excellent, and he arrived exactly when he said he would. Our home had several concerning areas in the basement floor joists and rim joist where water intrusion had caused some severe rot and dark discoloration. Zach performed a thorough and professional inspection of the entire basement. He was actually able to make DIY reccomendations for me to remedy everything on my own. Zach was very informative, and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. He certainly put my mind at ease, and it was refreshing to deal with someone with such integrity. I emailed him on Saturday and then I texted him on Sunday and he called me on Sunday. So he responded very quickly, very professional, the pricing was reasonable and hes flexible. He's willing to answer your question on a level you can understand, he take his time when he talks you and explain things to you. The Mold Mentor crew did a great job that exceeded my expectations. Kurt had the lead on this project & listened to my concerns & was very patient with me asking him something everytime he came back in the house. He also tried to anticipate things I would want to be saved & did a great job with that. The rest of the crew (Wilson & Tyler) did a great job handling my belongings with care & respect. Zach found another issue that the insurance inspector missed & took care of it for me. They all turned a stressful experience into a much better one. I would definitely hire them again or recommend to a friend.

We were initially concerned about mold on our basement walls. Zach assured us that mold was not a problem. He clearly explained everything. At a later date, he cleaned out and sealed up our crawl space. Zach is personable, knowledgeable, and honest. Highly recommended.

Zack called me right back after I left a voice mail for an estimate. We were selling our house and the home inspection uncovered some minor mold. Within five days, Zack was able to schedule the appointment to professionally remove and disinfect the area in our attic. Zach was great I had issue with mold in basement he came out in the next few days to check out my basement. He was on time very professional and polite and really easy to talk to he took the time out to explain everything and go over several different options to make it more affordable for me. Zach came out right away. He did not push unnecessary mold testing or even his services, but we did ask him to come clean off the mold and seal the area to prevent reoccurrence. Much more affordable than anticipated and he was very professional and honest.

My neighbor (with the same floor plan) alerted me to some water intrusion issues/mold they discovered around their front windows. He highly recommended Zach as a first step to see if we had similar issues. We had a great experience as well. Zach used a combination of a moisture meter and infrared camera to identify the possible water damage. Within minutes he was out the bedroom window on the roof showing me exactly where the water was entering via poorly angled flashing. He is very knowledgeable, takes the time to explain what he is looking for, and is a fantastic all around home inspector. My four year old was following us around too and he was super patient and awesome, letting him help hold the flashlight and showing him his hand print on the wall with the infrared camera. In less than 30 minutes he identified things that weren't even in our home inspection report from when we purchased the home. I had called about these specific windows, but in a quick scan of the rest of our house he was able to quickly identify another moisture issue behind a hidden, poorly done repair in our basement, uncovering a rotting section of subfloor someone tried to cover up with spray foam insulation. He was very open and honest and able to recommend a contractor to help us deal with getting these issues fixed. Based on the limited amount of moisture he picked up on his meter, he let me know of the availability of getting some air quality samples taken, but didn't think they were very necessary and wasn't pushy about selling me something I didn't really need. I would highly recommend Zach for any home inspection needs.

Went well. He observed the problem, did lots of checking and ran a mold test. He Made some recommendations. He was quite knowledgeable.

We suspected mold somewhere since it smelled musty in the basement and the smell carried up to the main floor of our house. I'm allergic to it , it makes me cough. I emailed Zach and he responded quickly. We set up a time for him to come and take a look at the situation and asked qustions about remediation. Zach was there right on time. We found Zach to be very knowledgeable and professional. He explained how the crawl space should be treated. At that time we suspected that area was the source of the mold. While Zach was there we also had him check the air quality upstairs and in the basement/crawl space area. Zach called us when the air quality results came in. He emailed us the results which showed we did have mold in the crawl space area. We set up a time for him to come back and fog the house to treat the mold. He came back a few days later to do that. After that my husband worked on the crawl space using Zach's suggestions. We then had Zach come back one more time to fog the house again since removing the crawl space insulation stirred up the mold again. He did a great job! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing help with a mold situation.

Zach and the guys showed up on time, did the work as quoted and expected, and cleaned up after themselves. Their quote was dramatically lower than the other one I received, but they seemed to do a quality job from what I could tell. They fogged the mold in the attic, inspected for any signs of moisture (there weren't any) and replaced the drywall in the garage ceiling with new and hauled away the debris.

I had an area of mold in my garage that really had me worried because everyone I talked to thought the issue was plumbing related. Zach, i.e. Mold Mentor, came out and figured out that it was the result of a small area of damage to my siding under a window. I never even noticed the damage before even though its on the front of my house. Zach told me the best way to fix it myself and didn't charge me anything, not even for a service call! I would use Mold mentor again and will recommend him to my friends!

Zach arrived a couple of minutes early and was very helpful. He checked our basement and gave us a ton of good information.

Zach responded promptly to my inquiry (website). He came over with in the next couple of days (maybe the same day, I can't remember). He was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. He inspected the whole house and based on what he saw (or rather, didn't see), he recommended that I take care of a couple of things ourselves before he charged us to have the mold testing done. I greatly appreciated not being pushed or fear mongered into paying him to do something right then and there. The price he quoted me for, should we want to have the testing done in the future, was very reasonable. When we are ready to have the testing done, we will most definitely be giving Zach a call!

Working with Zach Duffey of Mold Mentor was the best! After hearing horror stories about mold removal and the cost, this was a very positive experience. Zach responded promptly to my phone call, was right on time to provide a quote and also to complete the job. He was very professional, very knowledgeable and surprisingly reasonable. It went extremely well. Zach & Curt worked very hard, and dealt with any issue that arose immediately and safely. Carpet was removed, tack strips removed, some paneling removed, the entire area fogged to kill the mold, and they left their air dryer/cleaner over the weekend to insure that the room smell disappeared and the entire area dried out. They sealed off the entry way to the basement to prevent any contamination in our living area. They hauled away all old carpeting and tack strips/paneling as well as a couple of large items that they moved to the end of the driveway for normal trash pickup. These guys were great! Efficient, professional, and did a great job for us. Highly recommended if you have/suspect any mold in your home. AAA+ I have attached 2 pics of wet floor after carpet was removed to show what happened. Our sump pump backed up and forced water to come up under our home via cracks in the basement floor.

Zach is great to work with. He is open and honest. Although he found no mold and did not push an air test, I wanted one for piece of mind. Would definitely hire again.

Zach was extremely nice to work with. He communicated everything very well and was very thorough. We purchased an old house that likely contained mold due to constant moisture in the basement and a hole at the edge of the roof as a result of a tree branch falling as stated by a neighbor. We had remediation completed in the basement and attic. He and his partner came back to reapply due to an another access to part of the attic that was discovered so he just wanted to make sure that it was taken care of. He also reapplied a few areas of asbestos in basement. Thank you, Zach, for your service and for providing some peace of mind.

Zach, the owner of Mold Mentor, is special. He is not only an expert inspector and estimator but also the one who does the remediation with his partner, Kurt. Zach impressed me with his careful evaluation of my basement. He knows the difference between efflorescence and mold, their causes, the way to treat them as well as the ways to prevent their reoccurrences in the future. After they insulated my basement, they used a HEPA vacuum cleaner to remove mold and efflorescence and then disinfected everything inside. They also installed a low maintenance dehumidifier. As a bonus, Zach noticed some imperfections in the basement wall stabilization and suggested simple remediation for them. Good to have someone who also knows about home inspection. Their work is excellent. It is warrantied for 2 years. In general, there is little pleasure, if any, when contractors work in the house for several days. This was a different experience. Zach and Kurt are very nice, intelligent people. They are professionals who have pride in their work. I recommend them without reservations.
