Had musty midlew/moldy smell eminating from bathroom shower due to some previous water penetrating compromised grout seam. No visible mold/mildew, so wanted to get expert opinion if there could be an issue behind the tile with the backer board. Zach responded to my call the same day and came out two days later per scheduled time. Zach did a thorough eval of the shower, bathroom area, checked for leaks in the drain pipe & checked other possible sources of mold in related parts of the house. Nothing abnormal was found, so Zach recommended taking inside/outside air samples to test for abnormal mold spore presence. Samples were sent to a lab for testing & results were received the next day. Results were normal, so this eliminated the issue of mold/mildew growth for the most part, without having to tear out parts of the shower to see what was back there.

When he first scoped the project, he met at a time that was convenient for us because we had to juggle schedules. He spent time to explain the mold remediation process. I called Mold Mentor about a persistent shower mold problem I’d been ignoring for a year, after two failed re-caulking efforts by my handyman (the caulk quickly got moldy again). I was expecting to hire Mold Mentor, but was impressed and surprised when Zach took time to talk to me on the phone and encouraged me to buy a certain caulk. He could have made it a whole project and I would have trusted him and paid for his work, not knowing whether it wasn’t necessary. Instead, he educated me and saved me money. It’s been a few weeks and the caulk in the shower is still bright white! Hopefully it lasts. He was knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. Hopefully I won’t ever have a mold problem that requires a professional, but if I do, I know who to call.

After receiving very scary news from a prominent basement company in Central Ohio, a friend recommended that I get a second opinion from Mold Mentor. Zach came out, inspected my musty old basement free of charge, and gave me his professional opinion. Much to my surprise he told me "your basement does not need any of my services." I was shocked! They did a mold test where they checked the moisture outside of my condo and then inside. Zach told me if the levels were much higher inside then I could have a problem. The results came back good, so no mold. Was very happy to hear. Zach was very easy to deal with and very professional. I had a great experience with Zach! I found him to be honest, trustworthy, and very personable. We had some minor mold in our basement. He gave us a reasonable quote for remediation, but he also said this was something we could handle on our own if we wanted to do it ourselves, which is what we ended up doing. He also recommended a very affordable dehumidifier which we are very pleased with!! I am so grateful for his knowledge and advice. I hope I don't have issues with mold again, but if I do I know who I am going to call!
