He stops by to see what is needed - then sends an estimate via email. Once we agree the jobs have been completed within a week or two.
Description of Work: We have had John do various projects around the house that we cannot handle ourselves. He has changed light fixtures and fixed rotting wood in our window frames - to name a couple. Very happy with his work and will be sure to call him when we have other things that come up.

Honeydo was excellent. This gentleman was early to start it off which was refreshing since most of contractors have run anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour late. With the several issues from the door almost not fitting to other minor setbacks, I was kept informed of the progress. Although the job lasted for about 6 hours he got through it and we are very pleased with the end result. We would definitely call him again if we needed a handyman.

He was wonderful, polite, professional, and I can?t say enough good things about it. I was very lucky. John Bronner to the rescue!
Description of Work: He came to give me an estimate to do on some work at my house. He had an appointment the same day at 5 when my window got busted. He cleaned up all the glass and boarded up my window so no one else could break in. He cut down the wood perfectly to match my window and secured it really well. He took out at the frame and the screen and told me exactly where to take it the next day. He then came back the next day and put it back in for me. The second night is when he came back to check out my house and the other things I needed done after he had fixed my window.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. After getting estimates from a few other repair services and even scheduling one and then getting blown off because the job wasn't big enough for them we were lucky enough to get in touch with Honey To Do. This wasn't a major repair but it was outside of what we could accomplish with professional results on our own. Our entire experience from the initial visit for an estimate through to the completed repair was great. He did exactly what we needed him to, and he did it exactly when and how he said he would. Now that we have found someone reliable and helpful with something small we know exactly who to go to if we ever need help with a larger project. He was even great working around our great dane and two cats.

WOW! John did an excellent job and it was very reasonably priced! We bought the piece of siding at Lowes and he installed it. He had to cut it to fit and actually climbed an extension ladder and cut it perfectly while on the ladder. Even though the siding was not a perfect match, he did such a good job of piecing it together and securing it to the house, you can only see the difference if you look very closely. We were impressed with his abilities!
Description of Work: We had a piece of siding on the end of our house that was lost due to high winds. It was a tough place to replace as it was at the very top of the peak of the roof on our two story house. We also were under a time crunch to get it done prior to a home appraisal and could not find siding that matched perfectly but John was able to help us quickly and also gave us some ideas as to where to find a close match for the siding.

Could not have gone better. John spent two days getting everything done. I have an older house so nothing is easy. I thought I needed a new house fan but John said it was just the belt and after replacing it, it runs like new - saving about $500+. He does wonderful work - a rare find for a handyman.
Description of Work: John installed a new light/fan in my bathroom (there was none to begin with), installed a water line to my refrigerator, repaired the plumbing under kitchen sink, replaced belt on whole house fan, replaced 3 light fixtures.

Terrific. I liked that he didn't look to make jobs bigger (or more expensive) than they needed to be. Was very reasonable and fair about that. Easy to communicate with. Definitely will be using him again.
Description of Work: General repairs -reconnected sump pump drain lines and down spout lines ( 2 ) right and left side of house rear, re-attached gutter with gutter screws on second story on rear of house, fixed porch GFCI, replace 1 shingle on rear of house, fixed leak in upstairs hall due to bad seal around the vent pipe replaced stack boot, re-nailed 2 kitchen boards, re-nailed transition strip at mud room, cut flooring at the face of the bath cabinet it was to tight to the cabinet and scraped the front when stepped on causing the squeak, remove dent as much as possible from 1 board in bath.

The original estimate was $175. I believe the work took him much longer than he anticipated and he ended up charging me $332, which is almost double what I was quoted. I would not use him again for this reason. He did, however, do a good job on the windowsill.
Description of Work: He replaced a kitchen window sill on the side of the house that had rotted (first floor), and replaced weather stripping on 4 windows on the first floor.

Response from Honey to Do Ltd
The price change was due to the customer changing the scope of the work. The quote the customer received clearly stated the cost for the repair to the sill separate from the additional cost for the weather strip replacement which was priced per foot and based on the number of windows she identified and wanted to have done. The customer was only charged for the work she requested and the job was completed in the time frame I had figured. She added and authorized replacement of an additional 1x6 x42 inch cedar trim board that was rotted, along with approximately 66 linear feet of weather strip required to do her windows.( available in 6 ' lengths only) The written quote she received had 2 line items clearly priced individually and it clearly states that any request for additional work will be an additional cost.. Her total cost was inclusive of all the items she asked to have done. All costs were explained and covered with her prior to requesting payment.

John has been working on our projects for the last two years. He worked with us to plan the storage areas and worked with us to select new cabinet door styles and stain. He gave us plenty of notice when he would be doing the work and even added in projects as necessary. All the work is very professional looking and the price for all the work and materials was reasonable.

Went very well. I gave a "B" grade on price because I don't have anything to compare it to, never having had built-in shelves installed before. The price seemed reasonable to me and I feel I got my money's worth. I gave a "N/A" to punctuality because I specifically told John I was in no rush so he could take his time. I probably talked with him for the first time about this job in July; the job was completed in the last week of August. He was only in my house for one day however, as he built the shelves off-site and only came over when he was ready to do the install. The shelves are in our basement/kid's playroom, so I didn't want anything fancy. John made them of white composite board, two door cupboard below about three feet high, with four adjustable-height bookshelves above up to within 8 inches of the ceiling. Access holes were cut to two electrical outlets. A great job, as always. I will definitely hire John again.

They are terrific and the company was recommended to me by the guy at Home Depot. He seemed to be fairly independent, he took the old stuff away, and he did a great job. It took some special maneuvering but he did it with no problem. He ended up doing some other little things while he was here like helping me hook up my DVD player. He was congenial, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. He answered my questions and wasn?t a bit patronizing which is a quality that I look for in service providers. When I showed him the toilet at my parent?s house he told me that it was the same one that he would have picked out so that made me feel good. Instead of going into a long song and dance and racking up the cost, he tells me what the problem is and how to fix it. He was looking out for me so that I didn?t have to spend more money than necessary. I highly recommend him.

John was able to determine that the leak in the 2nd floor bathroom was coming from the drain in the bathtub. He did his magic and replaced the drain and other parts and fixed that problem. The downstairs shower was leaking from someplace and he was able to determine where the water was getting through. He removed and recaulked the areas affected. I'm having trouble with water pressure and he was able to give me a referral to someone who can look into that for me as well. I appreciate that John doesn't attempt to do jobs that he is not as experienced with and that he give quality referrals. John is my go-to handyman.
