It was a very good experience. I am very happy with them. They were here for a couple of hours. I was very pleased overall. They were willing to do anything. When the guy got there he asked what I needed him to do so I told him this, this, this and this and then went straight to it.

Both my experiences with them have been positive. I thought their rate per hour was more than I wanted to choke down. They are very polite, very professional, very good, I just didn't want to pay $200 an hour for a carpenter. They're good people.

Better than outstanding. Don, my hanyman, was an outstanding craftsman. His accuracy in both carpentry, painting and electric was superb. The overall job went very well.

I've had them to the house a couple of times. They were way to high. I had used them before and that was why I went back to them but I think the guy that came out was in way over his head.

Keith performed the work and was great. Very professional, on time, (even called to ask if could come earlier). The process was so simple to get scheduled. I received immediate call back from initial inquiry and they even scheduled on the day after Thanksgiving. I will definitely use them again and will ask for Keith.

A horrible experience from the beginning. I contacted Handyman Matters after their A reviews and Super Service award, expecting top quality/professionalism. The handyman, Dave, called the night before to discuss the job as per company policy. I told him the projects, and said I had the mailbox and post, and he'd need a bag of concrete. Also said I had curtain valance rods. He said he hoped the hole he had to dig wasn't very deep because he was almost 50 and not in good shape. Wow. He arrived on time the next morning, but didn't have the concrete! He did the two valances first, and the screen door closure. No problems, although these are pretty simple jobs. Then everything went wrong. The drywall repair was horrible. I should've taken photos. Amateurish doesn't begin to describe the work. He also was outside a lot taking a smoke break. The damage on the back of the closet to be repaired was still very visible. This was only about the size of a quarter. I had to leave on an errand and he was outside and told him I was going to lock up the house. He said this was OK, as he was going to Home Depot to get the concrete and would dig the hole and install the mailbox. It was 12:05 when I left on errand. I returned @ 12:55 and Dave was gone, nothing was done, the hole wasn't even dug! He returned @ 1:15 with the concrete. When I asked what took so long he said it was a long check out line. No answer for why hole was dug. He spent the next 3 hrs.digging the hole and putting together the mailbox. He filled the hole with concrete and said it had to dry overnight and let the stake that the post sets on sticking up. I covered it so no one could get injured falling on it. He said he'd be back the next day after a morning job. He returned at noon the next day and spent about two hours finishing the install, a total of FIVE HOURS on the mailbox. When he finished, the mailbox wobbled back and forth substantially. He said he didn't know why. The drywall was absolutely awful. I called to complain, and the owner, Paul Hammer did come out and look at the job. He said it should've been an all day job because it needed to be mudded and skimmed several times. He agreed it was a communication problem. He did offer to have his supervisor Don come out and do this "correctly" at no charge. I made arrangements AGAIN with him the next week first thing Mon-Wed to come out, which he did, and spent a couple of hours each morning mudding/skimming/sanding. It did look significantly better, but his sanding was a Shop Vac with a sander attachment and it blew drywall dust all over the furniture. Don also looked at the mailbox and agreed it had too much wobble. He asked why wasn't the post set in the concrete instead of the metal stake. I had no idea, it came with the mailbox, and I'm not a handyman. A legitimate question, however. He said to call him if I hadn't heard from him in a "couple of weeks", which I suspected meant I wasn't going to hear from him. I didn't here from him after a couple of weeks and called and left a message. He called back the next day and said he thought the mailbox was installed properly, which shocked me considering that he agreed the mailbox shouldn't have so much wobbling back and forth. I think they were just done with me and wanted me to go away. I can't believe that this company has such stellar ratings. I've just had the room painted, and the many flaws in the drywall are now evident. The painter said "the drywall guy wasn't very good." I discussed with Paul and Don that II wanted it to be ready to paint. The invoice he left me even says the job is "to be paint ready". I now feel I might have to tear out the front of the closet and have completely new drywall installed.

It was excellent. They were very very very good. The price was right. The supervisor came with the workmen and oversaw the work. Then came back upon completion and approved it. I would refer friends and family without hesitation. The price was fair. They were perfect.

This was a simple project which ended up requiring several visits for completion. Final product was good. Contractor supplied initial estimate then work was scheduled separately for actual repairs. Contractor was friendly and always on-time. We had to setup each visit through the their main office, not with the contractor directly, which resulted in additional coordination on our part and meant it was hard to know when the project would ultimately be completed. Due to his schedule, work could not be started for a couple weeks after initial estimate. Also, overall project was drawn out over a period of several days due to his limited schedule availability and our desire to have work done at the beginning or near the end of each business day. Work involved removal and replacement of a small section of floorboard, drywall, wood trim and insulation in the interior corner of a bedroom. Wall was finished with joint compound, sanded and primed. (We agreed to handle the painting.) While it didn't appear as though the contractor had considered all the details in preparing the estimate (e.g., tacking the existing carpet to the new floorboard with new tack strip), he offered to take care of this at no cost to us. Given the length of time for the project, we declined since this would have resulted in scheduling another future visit. Initial price seemed a little high for the small size of the project, but given the number of trips required, overall cost was probably reasonable.

Although the project took longer than expected due to additional effort to remove previous flooring, the team at Handyman Matters was excellent. Their quality of work and attention to detail was extraordinary and every craftsman that entered our home was kind, punctual and hardworking. The job often required long days and occasional evenings and they made every effort to keep the project moving forward even when running into unexpected delays. We're very pleased with the outcome and look forward to working with Handyman Matters of Northeast Columbus again.

I was very impressed with them from start to finish. Paul was professional and thorough. He was very transparent about costs, and kept me updated on every dime spent. He had no trouble giving me detailed invoices as we went along. Most of the work was done by two workmen of his, and they were both very professional and efficient. They called the night before they came to make sure we were all on the same page. They were always on time and worked non-stop while they were here. Paul coordinated my cabinet, counter-top and tile purchase through a local dealer and even attended the meeting when the cabinet sales person came out to measure things. I have nothing but good things to say about Handman Matters in Westerville. I've already got them scheduled to do some other things for me. I would highly recommend them for any job you have! The labor cost for my job was a little over $5000, but that included the installation of a toilet and the repair of another toilet as well. (I paid for all the materials separately to the suppliers.)

I received my estimate within two days of out meeting which consisted of rebuilding the existing deck with new cedar decking, railings & balusters as well as new handrails, steps and a cedar lattice skirt. My deck was started on a week later on a Tuesday - whereby they tore down the old deck, built the new deck, took care of the debris removal and it was all done with 2 1/2 days. They didn't just do a good job - they did an Excellent Job and I would highly recommend them - plus - they also sent me an e-mail at the end of each day to let me know Issac would be arriving each day.

The work was done well although if I had waited for the contractor from the place I bought the storm door from, I would have paid $97. He may not have installed this particular type of storm door many times and he had to look at the instructions quite a bit. He took 2 hours and 45 minutes. He had good communication skills. I think what he did, he did well.

I contacted Handyman Matters about replacing some trim on my house and they sent James Tinsley out to review with me what had to be done, he took pictures and I received an estimate the next day and James started the following week and was done with all of the trim within 3 days. The Trim work was all primed and is now waiting for the painters - who are scheduled to begin in late May. An excellent job was done as James updated me on his status at the end of each day. I highly recommend this company as they also replaced a deck for me 18 months ago - which was also done with skill an expertise.

Took some time to analyze what needed to be done besides replace the rotted wood trim and verify that the cedar post was sound and the anchor of it to the concrete sidewalk was still good. Once analyzed, the replacement trim was procured, installed and painted. Good job!

The handyman was punctual, professional, and called ahead to let us know he was on the way. The service was completed quickly and for below budget. My only concern was that the handyman showed up in an unmarked vehicle. However, this is being addressed by the company after raising the concern to them. All in all, 10/10 for service and professionalism.

Guy comes out to give estimate for a bathroom remodel. He really didn't take any measurements and didn't even leave me a business card. He said he would have a estimate for me within a few days. It now has been a few weeks and I don't expect him to send anything at this point. Businesses shouldn't advertise free estimates if they are going to be sending out people to waste other's time. I had many other jobs lined up that I would have loved to have this company do. Unfortunately, I'm taking my business somewhere else.

The job was done with little effort by the Handy Man Helper Isaac. Isaac had worked in my home over a year ago and I requested him back because of great service then installing a new toilet. And as I expected Isaacs talent showed as I expected. Within less than an hour the new toilet was out of the box and in the bathroom on our new Oak floor. As my other times working with Handy Man Matters-NorthEast, Paul the owner has surrounded himself with a great work force that is capable of doing almost anything. I have used them on almost all their mechanical skills and all were superb. As was Issacs job with me over the last day or two. I highly recommend giving a call to Paul Hammer and give him your issue,. I'm certain you will be happy with the quality of the work and the more than competitive price.
