Deck Masters

They came out and we wanted the job done before the memorial tournament and it was done in plenty of time. I was very pleased. They were very nice and respectful.

I had Deckmasters come to my home and install a new patio. The quality of the work was fantastic, and the workers were very friendly and helpful. Looking at the patio now, it looks very sturdy, and I am very satisfied with my experience. I would definitely use Deckmasters again.

I had Deckmasters come and install a walkway in my yard running to my deck. The workers from Deckmasters were very skilled and professional, and they were very helpful in answering all of my questions. The quality of the work was great, and I would definitely go back to them.

I had Deckmasters come and work on my deck. They did some repair and made a few modifications. The work was of excellent quality, and they were very flexible in modifying the plans to suit what I wanted. Looking at my deck now, it looks very sturdy and I am very satisfied. The team worked very well together and they were very helpful with any questions I had.

Once I received and accepted the design and estimate given I was scheduled in 2-3 weeks, being given a date by which the deck would be finished no later than. I received a call almost 3 weeks to the day and construction began. With my estimate I was told the deck would take 3 days, which it did. Everyone from the Owner to the work crew were a pleasure to work with and they answered all questions to my satisfaction. I ended up with a beautiful quality contracted TimberTech/Cedar deck which I will have many years of pleasure on. My only complaint is I did take a day off for work to be here for demolition and did not receive a call until that day saying the job was being pushed off until the next day because the job before me ran longer than anticipated. I was schedule for a Monday, I feel I could have been given a phone call over the weekend so I didn't end up having to take 2 days from my job.

Mike and his crew did a wonderful job. They completely tore out our old Clintonville front porch and rebuilt a new one. Our house looks completely different and wonderful. The quality of work is high and they completed the project on time and on budget.

Ripping tile, flooring, and drywall out can be a messy job. They worked very hard to keep the dust to a minimum and continually cleaned to keep it from tracking out of the bathroom (they took off their shoes as they came in the front door and carried them up for working, then carried them down when they left). They were always punctual and I have never met a nicer crew. Complete gentlemen! It is obvious they like working together, and like the work they do. You can tell they take great pride in "getting it right." We are thrilled with the end results. The shower is beautiful and the Pergo flooring is ideal for a bath area (I'm so happy they suggested this when we were discussing the project). They had many ideas to share as we worked through the design. Their experience in such projects is invaluable to a homeowner.

They spent a day tearing out the old structures, then entered into a rain interupted week of replacing the structures. They went to great lengths to insure that everything was as it should be. A couple of times I observed them finding a small detail that did not quite fit the way it should, one that I probably would not have noticed, and they redid the instalation of that board. Through conversation I discovered a total knowledge of local zoning and building requirements which I would never had known. Overall, I found them friendly, professioinal, efficient and meticulous.

They did a great job from the initial consultation to the finished product. Mike Freish met with us and came up with a fantastic design. We wanted something that was not a plain old rectangle, and we ended up with an "L" shaped deck with a sunken octagon eating area and a built in bar! They are busy, and there was a 6 week wait for construction which was explained up front. The construction itself was smooth and went exactly as Mike explained 6 weeks earlier. Day one, dig holes and pour concrete, day two, build most of the deck, day three, finish everything up. They handled everything, including permits and inspections. Always cleaned up after themselves - highly recommended.

Would not have selected tek product had I known that the lateral boards would warp and require wooden replacements, which will need bi-annual painting.

I called Deck Masters at the end of June 2007. I asked if someone would come to our home to look at our screened-in porch. Our porch is sinking in one corner and we needed an estimate on what the repair would entail and cost. Mike came to our home on July 5, 2007. He was very thorough in his examination of our porch problem and wrote down a few notes for me. He said he would get back to me with a more detailed estimate. I have not heard from him since that initial visit which was 5 weeks ago.

Unbelievable in quality and professionalism. Quality products, Quality craftsmanship, every request was listened to and acted upon, clean site everyday, Great bunch of men. Price is awesome compared to the quality. I would definitely hire them for other projects. (I am already thinking about kitchen and bath remodeling).

We joined Angie's List prior to the project. The Home and Garden show was the next weekend so we went to the show and signed up at three of the builders, each of which provided an estimate. I am a bit environmental about wood so we did some research into wood versus the composite products. The environmental consensus was that the composite products, though made from recyclable materials, were not themselves recyclable, so we wanted to go with an Ipe (Brazilian walnut) floor. Of all the estimators, DeckMasters was the most accomodating. Mike's attitude was, "Tell us what you want and we will try to do that." He said it would be six weeks out and take two weeks. He was on the money and the porch is perfect, except for the beer stain I put on the Ipe floor :-). They cleaned up their work every day. The communication channel was good. We asked them to install an existing screen door and they did without hassle. They also had the lowest price. I would recommend them to anyone.

They did good job and I would use them again.

We spoke to John Stark, the owner of Deck Masters, to give us a quote on our deck and we made an appointment to meet with Bob, his sales associate. After getting scheduled, the crew that works for John Stark was absolutely amazing. The three men that were working on our deck were very professional and we could tell they had a personal interest in making sure the deck looked the best it possibly could. The result of the three landing staircase was absolutely perfect. It met with the lower patio as planned. Our phone call to Deck Masters was a great decision. Our entire experience with Deck Masters from beginning to end was an extremely professional and stress-free event. We are extremely satisfied with our deck and would totally recommend them to anyone.

Extremely well done, courteous and worked well with us. They were flexible with their plans, they had an idea and adjusted it to our ideas.

Craftsmanship was excellent as well as the professionalism of all of the workers. John Stark was great to work with and did all that we asked of him.

OVERALL THE WORK WAS GREAT. I THOUGHT THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THE ONLY BLIP WAS THEIR COMMUNICATION WITH US ABOUT WORK SCHEDULING. THEY TOLD US A TIME AT THE BEGINNING AND WHEN THEY DIDN'T FINISH BY THEN, THEY DIDN'T REALLY TELL US THEY WOULD BE LATE. IT WAS ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT THEY COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING ONCE THEY REALIZED THEY WERE LATE. THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS EXCELLENT THOUGH.

Work on the whole project continued without delay. As usual they were prompt and never left a mess. We should be done soon.

THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE A LEARNING CURVE TO WORK ON A POLE BARN. THEY SPECIALIZE IN DECKS AND WANT TO STICK WITH DECK WORK. IF THEY WEREN'T AS BUSY THEY WOULD CONSIDER TRYING TO DO THE POLE BARN WORK.

DECKMASTERS ALWAYS SHOWED UP ON TIME FOR ESTIMATES, CONSTRUCTION, ETC. THEY STARTED THE PROJECT EARLIER THAN THE ORIGINAL DATE GIVEN AND FINISHED IN UNDER THREE DAYS.

GREAT TO WORK WITH BOB FURLONG,(COMPANY ESTIMATOR), AND JOHN,(THE OWNER), THE JOB TOOK TWO DAYS AND THE WORKERS WERE CONSCIENTIOUS AND CLEANED UP WELL.

THEY WERE AN EXCELLENT AND EDUCATED CREW. THE SALESMAN, BOB WAS A JOY TO WORK WITH AS WELL AS EVERYONE IN THE COMPANY. THE OWNER EVEN GAVE US HIS CELL PHONE NUMBER AND WE WERE ABLE TO TALK TO HIM AS FREQUENTLY AS WE WANTED. IF WE EVER HAD ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS, THEY WERE RIGHT ON TOP OF IT. OUR CEDAR PORCH AND SUNROOM IS JUST BEAUTIFUL AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO NO MAINTENANCE ON THE DECK. THEIR PRICES WERE EXTREMELY REASONABLE AND YET WE STILL RECEIVED EXCEPTIONAL CRAFTMANSHIP. THE COMPANY WORKS FAST..THEY DIDN'T DRAG IT OUT OR TRY TO JUGGLE US WITH OTHER PROJECTS.

HOWEVER, THE OWNER CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT AT THE LAST MINUTE. WHY? BECAUSE,(QUOTE) WE HAVEN'T SOLD A JOB IN YOUR AREA FOR 6-8 YEARS..OUR MINIMUM JOB IS $3,500... WE SPECIALIZE IN NEW BUILDS AND HAVE FOUND THAT YOUR NEEDS MIGHT FIT OUR CRITERIA. HELLO??? WE WERE BUDGETING $8,000 WHICH HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN IF HE'D BOTHER TO COME TO HIS SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. I FOUND HIM TO BE VERY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. WE LIVE IN A NICE AREA AND MONEY WAS NOT AN ISSUE FOR OUR LANDSCAPING NEEDS. FURTHERMORE, OUT OF 5 APPOINTMENTS MADE DECKMASTERS WAS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT MADE A NEIGHBORHOOD JUDGMENT BEFORE COMING (WHITEHALL/COLUMBUS). HOW RUDE!!!
