TruGreen Lawn Care - 868

I have a package where they spray my lawn for bugs and spray fertilizer on my trees. They do an excellent job. I spend $61 a month. They are very cordial and have a pleasant customer service. They are service oriented and are willing to please. They are very responsive and it is a good company to do business with. They do not have a time scheduled but just come out and do what they are supposed to. I seldom see them at my house but I have called them to discuss some things and they are very responsive on the phone.

For lawn service, they are fine. I had some trees with diseases, and they said they could treat that. They came over, looked at the trees, and sprayed. They said they could take care of the bushes as well, so we did that. Last year, everything turned out beautifully. All of the trees looked great, and the bushes were healthy. Now, the leaves of the trees are starting to get the same problem. Three of the bushes have lost all of their leaves. I tried to call them to get in touch with them. They would never call me when I was at the house. Since then, I have been trying to get them to talk to me about it because I am very upset. They never came over. It was easy to get a hold of them to start with, but now it's impossible. It's really a mess. I would never call them again. I would recommend being careful about them.

They have been very good. They do the fertilizing and other works. They are punctual and they come out all the time. I will continue to use them in the future.

The lawn is a disaster. It's been declining since we started using Scotts and this year is the last straw. There are several large patches of crab grass, there are weeds all over and it just keeps getting worse. This is it for us; we will never use them again.

Horrible service. I receive fertilizing services and paid to have an extra grub treatment. The tech came out and spent 3 passes on my entire 100 ft wide yard with the spreader as he was running! I timed him - it took 40 seconds to do my entire yard. He missed a section all together in between my house and the neighbor's. Then to make matters worse - he pulled out the hose to do a spot treatment for weeds that he missed the previous treatment, and broke the hose with the weed killer spraying out into my yard. When I approached him with my concerns he said that the spreader had an 8 ft spread, and that yes, my grass was going to die where the weed killer spilled, but it would grow back eventually. Considering 3 passes with a spreader equals 24 ft and my yard is 100 ft wide...what was he saying? I phoned the office which was even a worse experience. The "supervisor" was supposed to come out and take care of my dead grass and look at the grub treatment. He called to say they could take care of the grass and didn't even mention anything about the poor application. When I brought that up again, he acted like I didn't know what he was talking about - and that his service tech would never have done that, when I watched the whole thing. He never offered to retreat or to adjust my bill until I forced him to come back out and retreat. Still waiting for that to happen. Someone warned me against using them and I didn't listen. PLEASE listen to me when I say Don't Use Them.

Scheduled to arrive 2 weeks ago, no call, no show. Contacted to find out why and was told they would be ot in a few more days. It took almost another 7 days to show and I had hired another contractor.

I happened to be home from work and witnessed TruGreen providing one of our scheduled fertilization and weed treatments. The gentleman spent less than 10 minutes treating our lawn. He walked/sprayed most of our small front yard but I was appalled as I watched him walk less than 1/10th of our back yard, pack up, and start on a yard down the street. I had noticed increased weeds in the back yard and now I know why. When I called to complain and requested to talk to a manager, I was told both managers were on vacation and would call me back. I never heard back or spoke to a manager even after multiple attempts. They did offer to retreat my lawn but would not provide a refund. I obviously canceled by service, submitted feedback via online survey, and even then never heard from anyone.

I've been using them for quite a while. If you get weeds, they will retreat at no additional charge. They send me a postcard of when they will be here. My yard looks very good this year. I am happy with the price.

I thought $40 for a postage stamp sized lawn was a bit high. It took one man about 10 min's and he was done. However they were the only vendor of 3 contacted on Angie's List in Dayton that even responded. So I am grateful for their service. Just more $ than I thought it should be given the time it took and the quality of the work. Really it was just a very quick lawn-mower cut........

Final straws: paid for overseeding and thatching.... no seed was laid down..... received a free seeding to compensate, in their defense. Had grub treatment done.... now I am told I have grubs... curious....diseased trees never brought to my attention...personnel on phone rude and indifferent when I called to report problems. Slow on responding to issues between treatments (ie-- weed infestations). Wondering if I drew the short straw, but both of my immediate neighbors experienced problem with West Chester Scotts and quit them as well for similar reasons. It's a shame, as their service and quality when we started using them was excellent-- not sure what has happened...

They come in about 4 times in a season and they use granular lawn care. They do a good job. The person who visits us is very polite and nice. They have made our lawn look very nice.

They always do a good job. We are thinking of switching. The company was sold to another company. They are always trying to sell me something. The lawn always looks good. They send us reminders of the work they will be doing throughout the year. I am happy with what they have done to the grass. I don't like the fact that they keep trying to sell us on things. The sell's pitch will seem like a regular service. You have to figure out that they are selling something you don't need.

They've definitely been able to keep the weeds at bay, even dandelions(when other yards aren't treated). I think sometimes they do try to get more money out of you then necessary with add ons with shrub and tree treatment. If I've ever had a problem, they'll come out and fix it for me. We will continue to use them.

Actually, I think that they are more interested in selling additional services instead of actually doing the work. I mean they do good work, but unless you tell them to take you off of the call list they will call all the time offering new services.

From the above description you can tell this did not go well. The backyard is now about 60% overgrown with weeds, meaning where I first had 25% I am now forced to kill the entire yard and start fresh. To add insult to injury, since I never dreamed the company would refertilize after only 4 weeks, I am now forced to pay another $60 for a treatment that 1) was not required and 2) will only hurt my yard further. The front yard, which was perfect when they initiated treatment, now has about 5-7% weed growth. Stay away from this service. And a small thing; they never bothered to place yard signs saying treatment had been performed, so it was dangerous for people walking their dogs near our front yard.

The experience has been fine. They are always very good. I've had them for about five or six years already. They are honest and they always call before they come.

They are excellent. They are here on time and they leave a report explaining what they did. I am very pleased with them and the lawn looks wonderful. I have used them for three years and recommend them.

The lawn looks OK so it has been alright. The company was alright, I don't know if I will use again next year but I'll finish using them for the rest of this year.

After "big" promises by sales rep, he never sent promised info. Recalled, got more promises and switched to office person who could give me more details and set up acct. She promised email with info within 24 hrs and also more details to be mailed similarly. Nothing came for two weeks and then right after mail info, service tech showed up w/o me ever authorizing treatment. Some notes on info sheet that was left were untrue. Repeated calls to the name Mike Partin (shown on all the sheets as the "man" to contact), were NEVER answered by him and about 1/3 of the time by others saying he was NOT the person to talk to. Eventually I managed to cancel and get all charges dropped (via corporate, etc.). But to this day never talked to Mike.

Very poorly. Poor service and confused my account with another. Prepaid, and at year's end they said I had asked for additional service and I did not. Tried to charge me for it. They were to treat my lawn (prepaid) 4 times but failed to treat it but two times not 4. I would never recommend them to anyone else.

We did have one problem with them coming out to do a tree application at one point. In following services we were able to get on the schedule more appropriately. They are now offering more environmentally friendly herbicide which we appreciate the fact that they offer it. We don't have to be here when they do the applications. They'll leave a flag in the yard and a note on the door indicating the work that they did. They also do a good job about closing gates when they are finished (which had been a problem in the past with providers). The approximate cost listed is per year for the level that we want sometimes we might add to this service and pay extra. We will continue to use them.

Price is for the 5 treatments. I think the only drawback is that the technician changes, so you can't set up a relationship with one particular person.

He scheduled an aeration & overseeding which he said was best. I told him I read that it wasn t the proper method. I suggested Scott's Patch Master. He said overseeding would work or they'd fix it for free. They started & only talked because I approached. Technician didn't ask me about boundaries & was 10 ft. into neighbor's yard at one point. After 4 weeks, I phoned to say I wasn't seeing results. The only thing they would do is overseed again. I told them it didn't make sense to do the same thing over & over again if it wasn't working & that I was done with them. Manager said he'd clear me from the system. Several weeks later I got a call that I owed a balance for aeration & overseeding. I told them that I wouldn't pay for something that didn't work. She said they guarantee their work & that they'd come out to perform the [wrong] service again. For less than the price of the service I had bought many bags of Patch Master & that was working 1000 times better than overseeding.

Terrible. After almost 2 years of using them, my lawn is still patchy, weedy, and ugly. Often times they would come out an apply right before (or during) a rain which would just washed off the lawn. After calling to reapply they were slow or never showed. In addition, they "Collect" on bills 15 day's after you receive the bill in the mail. What this means is that you get continual phone calls from some woman in the collection department saying you're overdue and when can they expect payment. For example, I received a bill on 8/25 (with a date on the bill of 8/23), then received a phone call on 9/12 today saying that I was delinquent. This place is much more concerned about collecting your money than servicing your lawn. Steer clear!! P.S. When you do call to complain about your yard, they often blame you, e.g. you cut the grass wrong or don't water enough.

I've been a customer of Scotts on and off over the last eight years. I've canceled service twice before because of poor weed control, but they've always managed to win me back with a discount or 1/2 off a treatment. This year however, is the last year I will be a customer of Scotts. Twice in a row the bill stated that the technician spot-treated for weeds. There is an entire section of my side yard that is inundated with weeds that the technician should have spotted but failed to treat. My treatments are about $80.00-$90.00 each. I'll do it myself and make sure it's done to my satisfaction.
