The last time they were here I asked the tech about some ants. I like a flea and tick spray for the lawn because of the ants. A couple of years ago I had it done and it took care of the problem. Now this year they were back again. So he was supposed to get back with me and a week passed but I have never heard from him. I called them and they gave me the run around like, "This is going to cost you $100 and some". He said some thing outrageous. They couldn't do it one time. And I said, "Oh I need it just once and it gets rid of them". "No we can't do that", just giving me a run around. That is the only problem I've ever had with them.

The only good thing about Tru-Green are the guys that try to do the actual application. The office staff, billing processes and actual treatment chemicals are terrible. I finally got fed up with double billing and surprise visits for treatment, so I switched to another provider. After only 2 treatments, my lawn is AMAZINGLY better. Trugreen never got it looking this good after TWO years plus of trying. The office procedures are what really were the last straw, though. I paid in full for a year - to get the discount - and continued to not only get bills, but also got a notice from a past due credit agency. TOTALLY FRUSTRATING!

It didn't go well. I didn't ask for the grub control and when they called back, she wouldn't listen to my reasoning as to why I wouldn't pay for the grub control. I did order it last yr. but not this yr. They claim because I ordered last yr., it was still on the order. I don't really care if it was on the list from last yr. I didn't order it this yr. This not the first time I had to stop them from doing something I didn't order. I have since fired them and will go with another company. The woman rep. wouldn't listen to me and continued to talk over me.

I called last fall because our lawn was COVERED with weeds and clovers. They were very quick to respond, even though I called on a Sunday. They explained everything they were going to do and made appropriate suggestions for my lawn. True to their word, this spring my lawn is green and beautiful with NO weeks. The envy of my neighbors! :)

The cost is $79 a month. The cost is a little high. I would recommend them because of the quality of the lawn. There was no issue with the service. I would use them again in the future if I could negotiate on price.

I have been using Scotts Lawnservice for probably 3 or 4 years, maybe more. The quality and understanding of what needs I have concerning the lawn has steadily deteriorated over the years. I was not re-hiring them this year. These are my reasons: 1) I'VE ASKED TO BE PHONED BEFORE EVERY APPLICATION AND IT IS IN THE NOTES OF MY ACCOUNT. I have sensitivity to chemicals and do not want to be gardening right after an application, as well as I have an inground pool and the phosphates can be carried in to the pool water and it sometimes takes a whole season of treating to get the phosphates out of the water. But my yard was treated yesterday 2/26/2014 without a phone call first. I've never had a yard treatment this early in the year. If they would have phoned me I would have explained I DO NOT WANT THEIR SERVICES THIS YEAR. I phoned customer service today to ask why they treated my yard as well as stating my long running complaints about their service. Eventually the customer service agent said they left a voicemail saying they were coming out to treat my yard on 2/26/2014. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE as I do not have voicemail set up on my home or cell phone. 2) They continually bill me on the size of my lawn from the initial estimate (5,000sq ft?), although I have had recent landscaping projects that have removed whole large swatches of my lawn. I have brought this to their attention several times, but they have not re-evaluated the size of my actual "lawn". 3) I've repeatedly ask them to treat the strips of lawn on the outside of my fenced in property, as well as the 2ft strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street.. They never do, hence the abundance of crabgrass and weeds in these areas. That was one of the main reasons I did not intend to re-hire them this year. Also, there are other strips of lawn INSIDE of my fenced in lawn that often go untreated, ie the outside strip of lawn alongside of my driveway and the entrance areas of my yard close to the gates (front & back) although I pay to have these areas treated. 4) I have an invasive ivy/weed that I have repeatedly had to asked to have treated. It was not as invasive until this last year when they forgot to treat it at the proper time which is the beginning of the season. So there is a great amount of "lawn" that is really just this greenish ivy like weed. There are many more complaints. My opinion and experience is they do not employ quality technicians and/or their technicians don't really know how to recognize and analyze lawn issues, they just show up and treat the lawn like any other lawn. I think it would be fair to say that every 4out of 5 applications I have had issues with. I have cancelled my service with this company and would not recommend them at all. I can't say if my next lawn care service provider will be any better, but hopefully I can find someone who actually analyzes my lawn and treats it with the proper product at the proper time.

Scheduling: Was very easy. They had someone begin our contract within a week or so of calling them. Contract terms: It cost anywhere from $50 to $150 every two months or so. We would call and cancel a treatment, but they would do it anyway and charge us anyway despite numerous calls to cancel treatments. Customer Service: Constantly upselling us. One time they enrolled us in a new service we had expressed multiple times we did NOT WANT. Very frustrating. Spent many times on phone canceling new packages they added that we did not need or want. Personnel: I know more about horticulture than the idiots they employ. Such as suggesting pods on a fern are "fungus" and need treatment. DUH. They are seeds. The way ferns reproduce... Results: Our lawn looks exactly the same. None of the spots have cleared up. We still have crabgrass and weeds pop up after a year of service. It's pointless. They may as well sprayed it with water and charged us $100. Oh and then add a "bush" service when we don't HAVE any bushes to maintain... Ugh. It was a nightmare. I stopped paying them and will never re-enroll with them.

I had asked them to aerate my lawn this fall and have had to call 3 times as to why the service had not been performed. Initially, the explanation they gave me was that they sent the request to the Northern Kentucky technician instead of a Cincinnati technician. They stated they would make amends by sending out a technician in the next few days to perform the service and they would call me in advance. It is now a week later and the aeration service has still not been done. I called them today to cancel the service and cancel their entire service for our home and told them I would find another service provider. They apologized but did not make an overtures to try to keep me as a customer.

Equipment broke twice! My husband repaired it for the lawn technician so that he could finish our application on this visit. Not enough seed was put down in the bare spots (spots which have been bare since spring when they applied weed killer/fertilizer with the assurance this fall aeration and seeding would provide a full lush lawn this season!) Obviously, we will have to do some work on this lawn to get it back in shape (the many bare spots need more work than they provided.)

We only saw them 2 times the entire speing and summer. Treatments were not completed as bill specified. I was home during one of the "treatments." The bill stated they used the sprayer on the entire lawn, however the service tech NEVER even removed the hose from the van. They didn't treat for the weeds and crabgrass as has been discussed for 3 years. I attempted to reach them and discuss the weeds that were recurring (again) and the office girl was rude. No one ever returned my calls. I attempted to speak to someone for 6 weeks!! Finally, after my messages became increasingly irritated, a manager called my husband and they agreed to meet. The manager agreed we had a problem and was nice enough, but again another 2 weeks went by until someone finally came to treat the lawn. Now I am left with obvious spray marks in the yard, where parts of the lawn were sprayed and others not, AND now the good grass is dying with the weeds!

Mr. Issacs stated his wife's request is to credit the balance and refund their money and do free seeding. Three services were completed for this customer and two services had payment remitted for them. In addition, five service service calls were completed and those were at no charge and the last regular service was performed on June 14th. We offered to credit the last application as a customer relations gesture, but were not willing to credit the other two application as the issues on the lawn did not stem from our service. We also offered to review the lawn and provided suggestions/provide pricing for other work that maybe wanted or needed on the lawn.

It went terrible. Our yard has never looked this bad!
Description of Work: We received a bill and no one had been there(no flags in yard). Called and specifically asked for nut grass treatment. Someone came but didn't treat for nut grass--he didn't have the chemicals. We called and requested nut grass treatment. Someone came but within a week after they came in addition to where the nut grass was treated, there were large areas all over the yard that were brown as if poison was spilled. We called and asked for someone to come out to look at it. No one has ever come. We have had problems other years but didn't know who else to call. .

I've used Scott's for years but today I am finally terminating service. Prices have risen faster than market and I've become increasingly dissatisfied with their service. They've gotten to the point where they will not treat routine problems, such as nutsedge, without additional visits at additional cost. I pay roughly $1,000 per year (6 treatments) with continual solicitations from them for extra treatments. I'm now shopping for a vendor who will provide true comprehensive lawn service: fertilize my lawn and take care of the weeds.

I used the branch in Springboro. I paid in advance for the whole season in order to get the discount. The tech has only showed up once this year in late April. He came out again and tried to treat my yard in June but the yard was too wet. He said he'd be back the next week but hasn't showed up since. Plus I got charged for the June application. Three calls later it still is not resolved. I'll never use them again.

I had several problems with this company. First, I hired them through a referral from the guy who cuts my lawn. The trugreen guy was related to the lawn gut. I signed up for a year's worth of services and got a huge discount because I was paying for the full year that day. The person who signed me up was not assigned to my area and so another salesperson called me. I explained that I had already signed up and had paid and he told me there was no record. After many frustrating phone calls, I was told that it takes up to 4 weeks for a contract and payment to move thru channels to get posted at corporate. I was still willing to give them a chance. Then I received billings for the first two treatments (seperate bills for lawn treatment and tree & shrub treatment). These treatments were done on the same day. I called to explain that I had already paid for a full year and found out my order was messed up again. They apologized and sent me a refund. When the refund came, it was for the amount that I had originally paid for the full year service. I called again. They said that they prefer the customers who pay annually to pay in January. I asked about the discount for paying annually and they said it would start in January. I was not happy about it but I have health issues and had more important things to worry about. I let it go and paid each bill last summer. With the first bill this spring, there was no offer of annual payment and no discount. I started shopping around and found someone who would take care of lawn, tree, and shrub treatments for about half the cost of TruGreen. I called TruGreen and canceled with them. I told them that I found someone who would take care of all my lawn care needs and do a better job. That is when I found out that they were only doing the front and side yards (at my request?). The new company is doing my entire yard for half the price.
Description of Work: I hired them for lawn treatment and tree&shrub control. They did come out and perform those services for one year.

Excellent CSR service, price is fair, since using the service back in 2012 my lawn this year looks amazing. Thick and green. Which is the results I was looking for. They are not the cheapest but they are the best. And they do not CALL YOU EVERY WEEK AND TRY TO SELL YOU ANOTHER SERVICE... That was one of the reasons why I called Scotts. Extremely satisfied w/the service and the results.

I have used TruGreen in Cincinnati (the Fairfield Office) now for two years. I initially brought them on board because I was tired of hassling with bulky 40-50lb. bags of Scotts fertilizer from Lowe's/Home Depot. I signed up for both Tree & Shrub & Lawn Fertilization. Within the first year I had six shrubs die in my front yard & this year I had 3 die on the side of my yard. They dragged the yellow hose around the side of my house to fertilize my backyard & destroyed a couple hydrangea plants. I complained, they apologized, & they never pulled the hose on that side of the house again (me, I figure it's just common sense not to do stuff like that!) My shrubs were looking terrible after treatment & the service rep would always write on the report "Everything looks great!" NOT! I cancelled the Tree & Shrub program, but decided I'd stick it out with the lawn fertilization program; wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is the second year now for the lawn fertilization program. I did my first Spring mow this week & I find several patches of weeds. While the staff was always courteous & prompt - the proof, for me, is in whether I have a nice, green, weed-free yard &, while it's green (hey, it is just Spring anyway), I did find several patches of weeds. This is just too much money to spend on having weeds sprouting up! In fairness, they did offer to come out & respray, but by then, I felt the service, for the money I was paying, should be done right the first time; without having to repeatedly re-spray because I spot the weeds. Lawns are their business, so I'm amazed that the technicians don't spot the weeds & advise the customer. The result is that I've cancelled all services with TruGreen & I give them a "D," for the service technicians coming out to my property & not seeing the weeds that I, as the homeowner, see & am paying them to eliminate.
Description of Work: I used Tree & Shrub program (2nd year) 1 large tree was treated (3-yr. guaranteed) for Emerald Ash Borer. Lawn Fertilization (2nd year).
