MASON TV AND APPLIANCE SERVICE

I can't recommend this contractor enough! I have a flat screen TV that broke one month after the warranty expired. I was hesitant to call a television repairman, because I didn't know what the cost might be. It seems like these days a lot of times it costs just as much to fix something as it does to buy a new one. I'm so thrilled that I called Mason TV Repair! The first place I called told me I had to pack up the television and bring it to them, and they would charge $65.00 just to diagnose the problem. The next place I called was a Mason TV repair. He came right to my house, which was so incredibly convenient! He explained he's able to charge less for repairs because he DOESN'T maintain a storefront shop, which made a lot of sense to me. In other words, I was getting the same repair I'd get if I hauled the TV somewhere, but for cheaper and with much more convenience! I didn't pay a premium for a "house visit". I'm sold on that!! The technician was highly knowledgeable and knew exactly what the problem was, and was even familiar with my television, because he knew this problem is common with these televisions. He quoted me $250 to fix the issue and he'd return to do the work when the parts came in. When the parts came in he returned to complete the repair. He was able to fix the TV, but I had an unfortunate situation in that the TV was not done breaking. It worked for a couple of days but then stopped working again. I called him and he came back out right away to discover that he had replaced two of the four boards that could go bad (they were some kind of circuit boards and my TV has four of them), and after he replaced those two, the other two went bad. He ordered the two new boards, and when they came in he returned and replaced those as well without charging me any more money at all! Not for the parts, and not for his service. He felt like we had already paid to fix the TV and he wanted us to be satisfied that he had fixed it. Not a lot of contractors these days look at things that way. I was absolutely thrilled! Then, the TV started buzzing after a few more days and I had to call him again. He came out and fixed that problem as well, again without charging me any more money! He didn't even want to accept the tip I offered him! I believe I just had some bad luck with the TV--it's one of those things, as he explained, that you fix one problem only to discover something else is wrong too, and it's basically a process until you repair all of the bad parts finally. Usually the first fix does the trick, but I had one of the "exceptions". I don't believe for a second that the TV kept having problems because he wasn't a good repairman. He definitely knew his stuff and had the highest integrity. In sum, I was seriously impressed with the guy's integrity and honesty, and the TV is now working great for far cheaper than buying a new TV! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Don't hesitate to use them. PS, I'm rarely "thrilled" with a contractor. Anyone reading this who uses a lot of contractors knows exactly what I'm talking about, so when I find a contractor like this one, I want to tell everyone. :)

Everything went great ... no problems and TV works now.

He diagnosed the problem, and gave detailed advise on how I could buy and install a sound board myself. He gave me his card and told me to call him, if I could not find the exact product that is required for my TV.

The issue was found and he offered options for how to handle. Very responsive and reasonably priced.

Great! Mr Mason knew immediately when he saw the flickering what needed to be done. Apparently a regularly occurring problem (with Sony TVs). He carefully explained what he would do, how long it would take and how much it would cost. While he worked on the repair he provided a lot of additional information about flat screen TVs. This guy knows his stuff and I strongly recommend him.

Mark Mason is very knowledgeable, and a true professional. As stated above, we were trying to fix our Mitsubishi DLP Projector. The Projector was nearly 8 years old, and with Mitsubishi no longer producing TVs, it was hard to find someone to even look at it. Mark agreed to luck at it, and figured out the color wheel had gone bad. Mitsubishi no longer sells parts, and he couldn't find a color wheel from any dealers he trusted. The only place we could find the part was on ebay. He was leery of buying off ebay, but decided to try it because he wanted to help us. In a selfless display of customer service he insisted that he'd buy it, and just add it to our bill. Upon receiving the part, and putting it together, it was obvious the part was a generic (not an official Mitsubishi part, as stated online) and didn't work. Mark handled all of the returns, and all we were out was our original diagnostic fee. We felt bad for all the trouble that we had caused Mark, and the fact that he'd spent all this time on this, and wasn't able to complete the job. We offered him a little more money as a courtesy, but he respectfully declined. I would highly recommend Mark Mason to anyone with any tv repair needs, and will be calling him again if we have any problems with any of our other tvs in the future.

Mark came to our house last week and diagnosed the problem with our TV. He gave me an initial estimate while he was at our home and confirmed it on the phone within an hour. After I confirmed I wanted to proceed, he ordered the parts and scheduled the repair with me within hours of the receipt of the new parts. We wanted to get the repair completed prior to a function at our home this weekend. Very professional and competent!

For starters they told me they would honor the Angie's List special price (Here is their email: "thank you for choosing my business from angie's list. please call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX to set your appointment. the $45.00 includes travel.") and then charged me $60 for some reason. While he did spend a good deal of time trying to solve the issues they gave me a sense of assurance they could fix, by the end of the visit he simply said all of the issues I needed to be addressed were because of a faulty receiver. It's a new receiver under warranty so I called the company who installed the theater and was told the receiver worked fine and did get the system working at least for a while... The service rep from Mason TV who came to my house said he preferred analog to the HDMI technology. The bottom line is that I paid $60 ($15 more than I was told it was cost) and at the end of the day nothing worked any better and the problem he identified was quickly dismissed the next day by the company who installed the system as not the issue at all. Given my experience with this company I cannot recommend.

Mark Mason did a great job, from communicating effectively the first time I called to describe my problem, to coming to my house the next day with the right parts, installing them, and fixing and cleaning and fixing my TV as well as I could have hoped. Mason TV is a professional outfit that does what they promise, what is required and even a bit more, and charge a fair price. I definitely will keep these guys on file for future reference.

Found my problem and researched/priced necessary parts to fix.

The service went well. We had them repair the TV. I paid an additional fee to have the TV upgraded. He came out the same day we purchased the deal. It took a few days for the part for the part to come in. The technician was friendly and gave good advice. We appreciated his honesty on replacing the board and saving us money.

Diagnosed problem during initial visit. Ordered replacement module same day and installed 2 days later. Total repair was approximately 1/3 of a new TV. Very knowledgeable & professional.

Mark's professionalism and knowledge were clearly on display from the first time I called him to inquire about his services. I have a 32-inch Samsung LCD flat screen TV that began to randomly shut itself off, sometimes turning itself back on within a few seconds, sometimes not. The TV has an excellent picture and otherwise worked great, so I was hoping to repair it rather than replace it. I described the issue to Mark over the phone, and he said there were a couple of potential causes, but it was probably something he could repair for about $100. If not, I would only have to pay $45 for the service call. He worked around my schedule, showed up promptly, and was able to immediately diagnose the issue as soon as he opened the back of my TV (which turned out to be excess glue from the manufacturing process, a somewhat common issue with some Samsung models of that age). He was very friendly, clean, efficient, patient with my friendly but nosy dog, and explained things as he made the repairs. After he finished, the TV immediately began working again like it was brand new. I highly recommend his services and he will be the first person I call if I ever need TV service in the future.

Excellent service. Not only did he resolve the problem, but he was able to show us just how much our tv is capable of. Went above and beyond to help us out.

As I detailed above, Mark was so helpful, and did an excellent job. I have no one to consult with the decisions I had to make, and Mark was so kind to help me.

The technician arrived on time and called before knocking on the door. After I showed him the problem ( the TV did not turn on), he immediately knew the root cause and proceeded to check for the faulty part. After he located the faulty part, he guoted me a price.. The repair was done quickly and there was no mess in the place. After the fix, he tested out the TV and the embedded DVD player. also.

The very professional and personable technician was able to find the relay problem and I was once again able to enjoy the television. I have had no problems since and am very happy with the service provided as well as the results.

We bought the $45 coupon from Angie's List which covered the house call and the diagnostic. Mark told us that the mother board was bad and had probably been hit with lightning during a recent storm. He told us the board would cost $200 (includes shipping) and the labor would be $110. He said he would order it the same day (Thursday) and we could expect it to arrive by Tuesday (after 4th of July weekend.) It did arrive Tuesday and he installed it on Wednesday. The price was the $310 he quoted us and he also gave us a $10% senior discount bringing the price down to $279. He correctly diagnosed the problem, fixed it promptly and charged a reasonable price. He also stayed and reconnected everything to make sure all parts of the system were working together before he left. We have a complicated system with a smart TV connected to the internet, BluRay Player, DVR and 7,1 Surround sound receiver. We were happy with the service and would certainly trust him to do another electronic repair if we ever need it. BTW, the service was provided at my home but I selected "I went to provider's location" on the form below to protect my privacy.

He came to repair DVD capability that was not working, which he did in just an instant. I told him my new hearing aids would not mute sound with a new device that worked hook-up that went through the TV, and he worked very hard to try to make the mute work. I think he even called the TV company. It just won't work, and he is going to research other companies that make similar boxes to see if they have a product that will allow wearer to mute the tv while hearing aids are hooked up to tv special box. (This is difficult for me to explain.) sHe was amazing.

Provider located problem and explained all of the options for repair & replacement.

I was shocked to find that the provider did an in home service call for 40 dollars, He was not able to repair my TV during the initial call and had to take it with him. He capped my out of pocket at $120 total including the $40 service call. This made repairing the TV worth it. He had the repaired and TV back in my home with/in 5 days with a 1 yr warranty on the work. Great job. I would use the service again in a heartbeat. The provider went above and beyond by fielding questions that I had regarding mounting the flat screen TV's on the wall. His made sure that I completely understood what it would take to accomplish this resulting in me making the decision not to proceed with having the TV's mounted. His advise that I should check with the building owner was right on the money as I found out that they discouage this practice.

Mr Mason was very responsive; I called him in the morning with the problem and he fit me in as his last call of the same day! He provided an immediate fix for our non-responsive controls and diagnosed our intermittent sound problem as a bad board. He ordered board and a week later installed it. He also found a capacitor in the video section that was about to pop and replaced it. Once done, he vacuumed out all the dust that had built up in the few years we have had the TV. It has worked flawlessly since. I would definitiely recommend him to any and all of my friends.
