Tom and his helper arrived on time as scheduled. They removed the carpet and screwed down the sub floor to take care of some squeaks. They laid out the hardwood and got our approval before installing. They were very professional and got the job done in no time. It was obvious they were very knowledgeable about how to lay a hardwood floor. We were very happy with the results.

Installation was unprofessional. Took twice as long as necessary. I had to ask him to do certain things like cut the wood on our front porch instead of in the house. One day he came and left because he did not have the correct tools. In addition the floor is not holding up. We addresses this with them and the refuse to acknowledge the poor quality of the product. We put felt pads on all furniture and it still scratches and dents with very normal wear such as simply sitting on a dining chair.

The Design Service was very helpful in assuring we got quality carpet. Since we needed 2 different types of carpet for the floor and stairs, they spent a lot of time assuring that the two carpets matched and would look good together. The installation on the stairs is perfect. They were very fast. I would return to them since the hassles of dealing with "low cost" vendors isn't worth it when buying carpet.

The product itself looks wonderful. We wanted something modern that was not wood, as we already had wooden ceilings. This did the trick. The salesperson, Jerry was remarkably helpful. He even drove to a few different locations to get the flooring, thresholds, and stair nose that we needed to get the job started. Everything was scheduled to install before we moved into our home. The product was delivered on time the day before delivery. However, the shoe trim/quarter round was the wrong color. The installers arrived very late every time they came (sometimes by almost 2 hours even though I was the first appointment of the day). Upon arrival, they told me that there wasn't enough product to finish the job, and the product was backordered. They agreed to install enough product so that we could move our furniture into the center of each room. They left a number of tools here and a mess. I understood the delay because backorders are not their fault, but I was frustrated at everything that was left behind as the installers knew they would not be returning for weeks. Several weeks later, after calling a few times, I was told that they could complete the install. The first installer said that he could put more of the flooring down, but that the previously installers had not been honest about how much work was left, so he didn't have the right tools to finish the job. He then came back another day and completed the job. This install took four visits instead of two. The flooring looks nice, but there are still gaps around the edges of the room in the main living area where the floor doesn't meet the trim. In addition, I had to finish the trim work as some of the pieces were not secured and the nail holes were not filled with wood filler. I appreciated the Angie's List discount and enjoyed working with the salesperson. However for the price ($7,500) I expected a more professional time frame and installation.

The men were efficient and well mannered during the time spent at my home. They quickly started their work while I stayed in the lower level of my home for those few days. I was never disturbed and was only notified when the work was completed. The only requirements for me was to remove my computer and any small / breakable objects . All other media( TV's etc.) the men would remove. The men never disturbed me during the time spent at my home. They were polite and kept the work area clean and clear for me to move around. After they took apart my bed and removed it, they put it together and I had to stop them from making up my bedding. I was impressed with their professionalism and I will have the lower level rug installed in the near future.
Description of Work: The rug installer came the first day to get the exact floor measurements. He came in to do the job quickly and efficiently. Then two men came ,after making a convenient time with me, with the rug for installation. It took a full day 8 am til 4pm to remove furniture and install most of the carpeting. The men had to return the next day to complete installing the rug for the stairs. They had replaced the furniture in the exact location, as well as vacuuming up any debris.

They responded quickly. I think they got the job done within the same week after I spoke to them the weekend before. The following week, they had it done by the end of the week. They worked it into their schedule and completed it. The work seems to be good. For a small space, I thought the price was maybe a little bit on the higher side. We weren't here when it was being done. We were in Columbus, Ohio. It was done quickly and on time as promised.

From the first phone call, JP Flooring went out of their way to help me get what I needed. I needed the job done by Christmas, and they got it done. They were able to match existing floor wood type, and worked with us to choose a stain that we liked so that floors would match. Had a few issues with bubbles left behind from sealant, but they came back out to fix the issue. The only complaint was that they didn't always arrive when they said they would. If plans are made the day before for the next day, a phone call is appreciated for any change in plans when the next day comes. We were so grateful that the job was completed by Christmas, that we didn't complain about this inconvenience.
Description of Work: We wanted to replace carpet in our dining room with hardwood, but we needed it to match existing wood in foyer. JP Flooring replaced the carpet with hardwood, sanded down all floors and stained and sealed so that all floors matched.

They were done in one day and the carpet looks great! I had to vacuum after they left because there were some small pieces of carpet on the floor. Not many pieces. They had me grade thhem before they left and I would have liked more time to evaluate. After They left, when I vacuumed, I found one one two strands pulled out. I called and was told to cut it off at the surface of the carpet. I could see no carpet seams or irregularatiesmin the installation which is most important. Furniture was exactly where We left it. I was surprised that they seemed to raise no dust and the closets were quite dusty when they arrived. Very polite staff. I liked the price and the salespeople better at JP rather than McSwains. I thought my questions were answered more clearly at JP Flooring. Mc Swains would have taken two days and cost more for the same carpet.

Selected Brazilian Teak for its hardness rating and good reviews. After purchasing the flooring things went down hill from there. Installation was poor. They left large gaps up to the wall. When I complained they came out and "repaired it" They did not remove the baseboards like I asked, but just cut a sliver of wood and placed it in the area. It looks horrible. Left one large gap with nothing. Did not measure or include any floor vents. When I went back and asked why I had no vent covers, they said they forgot. They had to come out and cut the area to fit the vent leaving the area chipped and it looks like it was done after the fact. They kept all excess wood flooring, 2 full boxes, and would not give them to me. I demanded their return to me and they finally gave me one box. Good way to build up a little free inventory for them. Now one year later the floor looks like h***. Lots of dents, chipped, cracked. It will have to be eventually replaced it looks so bad. Spacing between the boards is too large, to the point you can really fell it when you walk on the floor. Horrible company and experience. Not responsive to my complaints.

Ron Fite did an great job with suggesting a style of carpet for our basement. The installation was excellent - the previous basement carpet showed the seams and they were unraveling. With the new carpet, I can't see the seams, even though I know exactly where they are. Excellent job! I would highly recommend.

J P Flooring has done an excellent job for us in the past and this time. Their installers are on time, polite, and have excellent customer service skills. J P Flooring installed carpet and pad throughout our entire home in 2010 and we just had them do the lower level. They called the day before to let me know the time. The workers showed up on time and ready to work. Everything is perfect. I would recommend this company to anyone needing carpet selection and installation. All both ends it was a great experience.
Description of Work: Installed pad and carpet in lower level.
I would have no trouble recommending JP Flooring to my friends and neighbors. In fact neighbors stop by when they saw the trucks at my house and asked to see the work. They were amazed with the wood floor blend and finish.
Description of Work: Brett Hall and his crew removed old carpet and sub floor and installed hardwood in one room. They then sanded and refinished the two adjoining wood floors to match. The result is unbelievable. I can not tell where the old and new start and end. I worked with Marcia Brown to have carpet installed in five room of my home. Marcia is very knowledgeable about carpet and she has a uncanny sense of color. The carpet was installed after the wood floor. The crew installed the five rooms in one day. They also moved and replaced furniture. Beautiful job.
My contractor suggested JP Flooring in West Chester, and told me that I could use his contractor's discount. I found what I wanted at their impressive showroom and was assisted in selecting the right materials for our large finished basement. The prices were a bit higher than those at another highly rated retailer, but I mentioned my contractor's name and asked if I could use his discount...The salesperson said that I could, she'd just have to find out who handled that account. When I started receiving invoices for the three different flooring materials I had chosen, they contained very few details; I had trouble discerning which invoice pertained to which product, and how the costs of material, labor, etc. were calculated. When the salesperson called to get a deposit for the flooring, I asked again if I would get the contractor's discount, and she told me that she would check on it (again). Installers visited our home three times over the course of two months, as the delivery and installation of materials had to be coordinated with other aspects of our remodel. The scheduling team did a fine job getting appointments on the calendar and communicating with me. A problem arose when the hardwood flooring was being installed around the bar area and the installers informed me that they didn't have enough material, and that the carpet would encroach upon the space required for bar seating. Unfortunately, the representative who had come to measure our basement had not provided any guidance regarding the bar area, so I had estimated where the wood should end and the carpet should start. (I subsequently talked to the salesperson about this, and she had told me that the space required around a bar is a standard measurement, and the gentleman who did the measuring should have advised me accordingly.) I told the installers that I wasn't about to pay for them to come out again and install more hardwood (this portion of the project was already costing over $2000). The lead installer assured me that if it could be left as-is, then completed when they returned to install the laminate flooring (in a separate area of the basement), then it shouldn't cost anything because they would be there already. I touched base with my salesperson to confirm the plan. As the rest of our new flooring was installed and the remodel progressed, I received credit card receipts and invoices at random intervals in the mail from JP Flooring. I understand that they charge a deposit when materials are ordered, then process the remaining balance once a job is complete. However, I now have ten separate and different invoices from JP Flooring, and seven separate charges on my credit card. Their convolluted invoicing and processing methods have made the flooring the most confusing part of our remodel project (and it was a rather complicated project). I was charged more than the original invoice for the hardwood, because another box of hardwood flooring had to be ordered to complete the job...But that was not evident on the paperwork I received after my credit card had already been charged $214 more than the amount I had authorized. So, I never did get the contractor's discount and I was charged more than I had agreed to pay, without my knowledge or consent. I contacted the billing office at JP Flooring to address this issue and I was referred to my salesperson. She said she would look into it and call me back...

JP Flooring did a great job and we are 100% satisfied with how the floors turned out. We spent the extra money to use the dust containment system and felt this was money well spent. There was little dust or residue from the work. The floors turned out beautifully and we are very pleased with the modern look they have given our older home.

First of all, I called 2 weeks prior to Christmas because our cat had ruined the carpeting in our dining room. We decided to replace with hardwood, but weren't sure of the expense and if it could be done before Christmas. The saleswoman on the phone went out of her way to try to find out if the company could make this happen for me. She asked about where my home was located, how old, and who built it. With that info, she had a fair idea of the type of wood that was used and said it was something they carried in stock. She had someone come out to measure and look over the job before the end of the day. They explained that they would have to strip the old floors so that they could stain the entire area to match. There were a few issues when the job was completed, but they came out to fix these immediately. The floors were completed by Christmas, and looked beautiful!

It is like a tale of two cities. I worked with Ro, who is a kind salesperson. We selected carpeting, wonderful gentleman came out and measured, carpet installers came and did a very professional job, moving all the furniture, removing carpet, and installing carpet, even working around my husbands business calls as not to disturb him while they were working. Carpet in bedrooms, stairs, hallways etc is great. Lived up to my expectations. Furniture replaced with great care. One week after carpet was installed in family room and home office noticed snags in berber from our dog. Our home is only two people and a 17 pound dog. Carpet that was replaced was a 19 year old berber that survived 3 various dogs, 3 active children and ourselves, never had a problem with it. I contacted Ro about this problem as carpet is a new Shaw carpet, and asked is there a problem on Shaws end with this carpet. She forwarded my email to service. After a week of no response, I contacted Ro again, she contacted service again! A few days later service called, Inquired about my vacuum beater bar being the problem, I said no it is my dog. Who gets groomed every month, including having nails trimmed and filed as she is a therapy dog and I make sure her nails are not sharp when she visits patients in the hospital on a weekly basis. Service man came out, repaired carpet and advise I put dog toys in garage. At this point, my husband who overheard conversation, explained dog was here before carpet, we never had problem with any carpet before with our dogs, and that we are not happy customers. Serviceman said he sees no problem with carpet, took sample with him and said he would let JP flooring know we are not happy customers. A week later no response. I am worried with holidays approaching and my children returning home with their dogs, this carpet will not withstand three dogs running around on the carpet. It is a new carpet that can not withstand dogs walking on it, so is there a remedy? I do not know, if I knew it could withstand dogs, iI would be happy with the carpet, it looks great, just not functional. 11/26/2011 Despite what the serviceman said, Shaw has decided to replace the carpet. JP Flooring contacted me. I asked to wait till after Christmas holidays as I have many house guests coming, etc.. Ro, the kind soul that she is, is sending more carpet samples to me so I can pick out a durable carpet for my family room.
Description of Work: We had carpet and pads removed and new carpet and pads installed for 4 bedrooms, closets, staircase, hallways, family room and home office. All furniture was removed and put back. I usually shop local but the prices at JP flooring were better and I strongly support that they recycle the old carpeting. Other carpet stores put them in a landfill.

Very well! Excellent job! Three workers, Steve, Mike & Larry arrived on time at 10:45 pm and worked steadily thru until 3:45 pm. (I ordered pizza for them to munch on & tipped them $45.) The carpet man tacked down the loose carpet between the kitchen and dining room and installed a new gold strip. Everyone was very pleasant, including the salesperson, the interior decorator, the installation manager, the receptionists, the workers & the carpet man. They all did many things above and beyond the call of duty, such as installing a protective strip inside a closet that was not even on the order & installing quarter-rounds that were far better quality than the old quarter-rounds. It was a quality job. Wonderful customer service!
Description of Work: Tear out & replace existing vinyl floor in kitchen, hall, & laundry room. Level concrete subfloor and install Armstrong Stratamax X3531 with a full spread adhesive designed specifically for Stratamax. Move appliances out & back. Install new quarter-rounds as necessary to replace any that split during the removal process, mostly the white quarter-rounds.
