Grout Medic of Dayton, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

After calling the main number and leaving a message, I was not called back so I went to the website and left a request there...that was answered the same day. Larry came out and gave me a quote the following day which was reasonable. He was very professional and took care to cover his shoes when he was entering/leaving the house so he wouldn't track any mud on the carpet. He explained in detail what he would do. I asked what the next step was and he told me that Mark would call me the next day. Mark did not call so I called him and was scheduled with John the following day. John came out and spent the entire day ripping out all the old chaulk, the cracked tiles, and the cracked grout. He did a fantastic job and kept me updated as he went along. We encountered a little glitch of water which he wanted to dry thoroughly before sealing everything back up. He left for the day and told me Mark would call the following week to schedule the final sealing. I had to call Mark...which I did and was scheduled the following day. John came back out and completed the job (total time from initial call to completion was a little over a week). It was a little bit more than the original estimate (which I was told and agreed to beforehand...<$50) and the shower looks wonderful. I gave them an "A" overall becasue at the end of the day, the shoer looks great. They delievered what they said for the price and I would use them again in the future. I highly recommend them. I The only watch out I would have is that you need to follow up yourself with phone calls to Mark. Also, they could do a better job with the clean up of the job area. The bathroom floor was left covered in dust which was then tracked in the house. Not a big deal but to get A's across the board these little things would go a long way!

Larry came out to assess the job and give a quote. The quote was reasonable, so I contacted Mark to schedule an appointment. We were also replacing the glass door and the company glass company suggested the grout company take the door down, so we could have the tiles cleaned and grouted where the door was located. Mark said there would be an additional $25 added to the quote. I agreed. The job was completed on the scheduled day. My husband was home, so he signed that the job had been completed. The tile looked good. I did call Mark to ask why the caulk had not been placed all the way around the water fixtures and he said it would need to be open on the bottom to prevent leaks in the wall. Unfortunately, the caulk they used was wiped on the walls of the bathroom, splattered on our driveway and my husband's car. When I told Mark what happened, he did apologize and said he needed to know things like that. In the end, I did not get a discount for the mess left by the worker or an offer to have someone come out and clean up. He did however, tell me how to clean the caulk off the wall, driveway and car, which he said I should do soon, so it would not satin. When I pay a little over $500.00 for a job to be done, I do not expect, at 8 months pregnant, to be standing on a chair cleaning the walls of my bathroom, hosing down my driveway and helping my husband clean his car! Job was complete, but there was no professional follow through.

I emailed grout medic to contact me to provide an estimate. I did not hear from them so after several days I called and left a message. I heard back within a couple of days and a time was scheduled for them to come do an estimate. They came, looked at the work and provided me an estimate. I then contracted with them to complete the work. There were more loose tiles than planned for, and the work took longer than planned by one day. There was some confusion about scheduling the work. Originally the tiles were to be removed and replaced on a Friday and they would return on the following Tuesday to polish and seal. I don't know if the extra tiles delayed the grout work but we were told someone would be at our home on Monday to do the grout work. When they did not arrive by the expected time I called to find out what had happened. A return call later in the day offered apology for the confusion and made arrangements to have someone come before end of day to get the grout done. The Tuesday work also took longer than expected and they were here from about 11am until almost 7:30pm. Mark was very careful about making sure the grout was properly tinted to our specifications. They were very nice and the final product looks very good.

Three years ago we were having problems with our grout cracking in part of our kitchen floor. We had it repaired by another company and they laid the new tile so it was 1/4 inch higher than the old so our floor was uneven and looked terrible. We called Grout Medic and they came out that evening and gave us an estimate and seemed very knowledgable. The work was done the next week. It looks fabulous and our floor is no longer uneven. He didn't break any tiles taking them up so was able to reuse all of them. We are very happy with the work!

Very professional and friendly technician. He worked hard and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. This company made my tile floors look amazing! I would not have guessed old tile could be restored to such a beautiful state.

An associate of Mark's arrived promptly at 10:00AM. He then worked all day until 5:00PM. The tile area looks brand new. We are more than satisfied. I would recommend this company to anyone needing tile work.

We called for an estimate and a technician came that same day (he was working in area). He spent a lot of time looking at the problem and taking notes. However, no one has ever called us with an estimate.

Found on Angie's List. Quick response for a free estimate and scheduled the repairs within 2 days. The repairman called to let us know he would be a little late (much appreciated). He did a great job with the repairs and clean up. Very professional. Will definitley use in the future.

They came out and gave me a quote within 24 hours of my call, and did the work the very next day. I needed a quick turnaround, and really appreciated their responsiveness. They arrived promptly the next morning, and started right in to work. It was a big job, and took the better part of the day. They were careful to let me know how long I needed to let the grout dry before I could use the areas in question. Wow!!!! That's all I can say. The kitchen counter especially looks absolutely brand new. The grout in the laundry room hadn't been steam cleaned in 14 years - washed, but since the grout hadn't been sealed, it was looking pretty filthy. It is soooo much better now. I really appreciate the care they took, and the attention to detail. If I had been aware of their work before, I would have used them to do this years ago!

Mark's person called me in the morning, confirming he would be there. He called me when he was leaving. He commented that the tile did indeed need re-caulking. The workmanship was done well, clean up was beautiful (I couldn't tell anyone had been there except that it looked nicer in both areas). I appreciated having options, thanks, Mark.

I called and left a message to schedule an appointment for the estimate and did not hear back for several days. When I called again, I did get an immediate response and an apology for the delay in responding to the initial call. An appointment for an estimate was scheduled to occur within a few days and the person arrived on time. The work was scheduled for the following week and again the person arrived on time and completed the work to our satisfaction.

We have a marble tiled double shower enclosure that hadn't had anything done to it for about 25 years. They came and refinished it as well as regrouting the entire shower. It looks great. They're price was competitive and they were very professional.

First of all, I would like to say that the WORK of the company is A+. I rated respnsiveness and punctuality based on the estimate process and trying to get in contact with them. The work is GREAT, then just need to clean up some of the office skills. I had a tub area where the caulking had turned black around the tub. In addition, the grouting was yellowing and soem was falling out,.Some of the caulking was moldy, too The tech person who came out to do the actual job was great. Not only did he lay down tarps in the bathroom, but he layed layed down tarps out into the hall about 6 feet past the bathroom. He was thorough and meticulous, and kept up informed as to the process and timing. When done, he had both of us inspect the work, before presenting the bill for payment.

After a disconnect on the first attempt to get a quote - my fault - I finally met with Mark. He was very courteous and efficient in his quoting process. After discussion with my wife, we called him and scheduled one part of the work he quoted. He put us right into the schedule to have our Master Bath Shower regrouted on the Friday before Christmas! His man showed up promptly that Friday morning, made instant friends with our three dogs, put on his booties, put down his drop cloths, and went right to work. Several hours later, we had a beautifully grouted shower stall! The grouting job is first class as is the caulking. Only two glitches in the entire process: 1. Mark said we needed to wait 24 hours after completion to use the shower. The service tech said 48 hours and showed it to us on the directions for use of the caulk. Had we not asked, we might have had a problem. 2. When I pulled out my plastic to pay, I was informed of the $30 fee for paying by Credit Card - which had not been previously mentioned. I objected and the fee was waived, but it was an unnecessary and unpleasant surprise. That fee should be stated up front or in the quote. Overall, we are VERY pleased with the work and will have the Grout Medic back for future projects. We were charged EXACTLY what was quoted and are happy with the results.

The two men who came did an outstanding job, and the tile looks extremely clean and new as a result of the regrouting. The men were also very courteous and professional.

They were supposed to come out to give me the quote but they cancelled it and did not call back. They sounded busy when I called but sounded interested.

It was a good experience. The shower and kitchen floor look much, much better. The grout work was very well-done - the lines are straight and crisp - same for the caulk work. The kitchen grout is much, much improved. It is not quite as good as new, but they told me that in advance. The only hiccup was some minor communication issues in getting the estimate, but it was minor and overall the company was very responsive.

Mark Gimmison, who prepared the estimate and was scheduled to do the job, apparently had a scheduling problem and first moved back the start time a few hours then had to use another person to do the job who arrived even later than scheduled. But the new repair person was friendly, professional, and did a great job. The cost matched the estimate. I am happy with his work.

I like what they did. They were the first company to come out and they gave me pictures of past work so I chose them because of the pictures they showed. They were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. They were good workers! The only problem was they were not on time but it was because they got caught in heavy traffic so I do not think that was their fault.

The results were excellent, and the price was very reasonable. Grout Medic is apparently a national company whose corporate offices are based in Southlake, Texas. Mark Gimmison owns the franchise for Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio. He maintains a staff of three, I believe, in Cincinnati. The person who cleaned my tile was Larry. He was punctual, professional and did excellent quality work. I was told by the estimator (Mark) that they might not be able to remove the stains from the grouting, which is old (1961). But when Larry arrived he worked diligently for three hours and the tile and grout now look new again. I am very satisfied. He first covered the area in a mild acid solution, then steamed the grout with a powerful hand steamer to remove the dirt, then added a neutralizer, then sealed the area and dried it with a fan. It took less than an hour to dry. I'm so glad I decided to go with this service.

They did a nice job, but I had to call them back along for the bottom of the grout and they did come back.

They came first and provided a detailed,itemized estimate. My final costs were slightly higher only because they found additional damage once they started the work -- however, they did not perform the additional work until getting my permission. A two-person crew worked on my project over about 3 days, with one gentleman always present. They were on-time, always professional, and they did beautiful work, even while working in unbearably hot temeratures. They identified a bigger issue with my porch, but did not pressure me to contract them for more work and proposed a shorter-term solution that would stay closer to the original estimate. The porch looks great, and I will definitely use them once I am ready to take on the bigger project.

Great. He fixed everything exactly as promised. I'm very happy with the finished work, and especially happy that I didn't have to do it myself!

Great experience! Mark was responsive in calling me back, gave me a rough verbal estimate over the phone which was helpful as I didn't know what pricing ballpark this project would be in. Mark then came to the house to give an official estimate which was a fair price, and included additional services than other companies. Larry actually performed the work and he exceeded my expectations! In addition to removing the old grout and replacing it in our shower, he took the time to show me what he was doing and what we should do to help maintain the shower in good condition. He also cleaned our shower doors for us which had quite a buildup from hard water, a very appreciated gesture!

They did not show up at the scheduled time. I asked them to call me back to schedule another appointment and they did not do this either.
