+ -1 moreHe was very responsive and said that he could come out on 06/27/2011 at 4pm (I was flexible; he chose the time and date.) Approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes after he was SUPPOSED to be at my home for the appointment, he called and stated that he was "on a job" somewhere near my house and could be at my house "in a while." I said that I had rearranged my day to accomodate his appointment date and time and that I had moved on to other activities in light of his no-show. He said that I would be "more understanding" if I could see the job that he was working on.Here is what I know. It is 2011 and the entire world has cell phones. Cell phones have two great functions - they tell you the time and they let you call a potential client at any point during the day to state that you will be late. I would have been incredibly understanding if I had received a call, in advance of the appointment, to reset the time and/or the date.It is unprofessional to miss an appointment, call 1 hour and 10 minutes later and then state that the customer should "understand" that the appointment was missed without any communication.I would not ever use this contractor.
Description of Work: I called Mr. Pepera last Friday, looking for a plumber. I have an old house and a few specific projects that need to be completed - replace an old toilet, replace clawfoot tub faucet and handles.

He and his assistant also checked underneath the sink to see if we needed any pipes replaced (since we had a puddle under the sink), but determined the leaking was simply due to the backup. Jim was courteous, very neat (you couldn't even tell he had been here) and appeared to be thorough. I would use Pepera Plumbing again. The normal cost of this service would have been $150, but we had a $30 coupon from Angie's List.
Description of Work: Our kitchen sink backed up and I needed someone to come the next day within a specific window of time.

Description of Work: My toilet was clogged and started to overflow. It kept overflowing even though I kept bailing out the water the toilet would start to fill up again. I had to take off work Friday to keep emptying out the toilet. I called Mr. Pepera Friday morning and he suggested that I call the city as it sounded like my sewer was the problem. After explaining that all my other drains were fine, he said he would come by after he finished the job he was on. He didn't give a time because he didn't wasn't sure when he would be finished but told me to send a text message if the other company I had called could not come. I sent the text message and he came that afternoon. He unclogged my toilet and it was working fine. I wanted him to install a new toilet because the one I had was made in the 40's and had a 5 gallon flush. He wasn't able to do it that day but agreed to come on Sunday. When I asked him how much I owed him, he said I owed him nothing because he didn't finish the job. I was pleasantly surprised by his answer. He suggested a brand of toilet that he said he made the fewest house calls to unclog and I told him to get it for me. Sunday he arrived on time to install the toilet. In the meantime my kitchen ceiling had fallen in because of my constantly overflowing toilet. He suggested that since the ceiling was open he should replace a pipe leading to the toilet because it was made of galvanized steel and would give problems in the future. So he replaced the pipe with a copper one. When he was ready to install the new toilet he discovered that he was given a toilet of standard height and I wanted a higher toilet. So he went to Home Depot and bought another toilet, and put it in. It works fine. My bathroom sink was also clogged at this time and he snaked out the drain and it now works fine. I'm back on Angie's list, need a new ceiling. But that's another Story!

He owns the business and is the primary employee and you don't get the red tape from working with a larger plumber. If you live in the East Suburbs of Cleveland you couldn't pick a better plumber to work with you. We are out in the Solon area and Jim was able to come out to do the work the very next day. His prices are very competitive and he was willing to fix a couple of other minor issues that weren't part of the original reason I called. You can trust Jim and know he will stand behind his work and will be someone you will want to always call for your plumbing needs.
Description of Work: We had several projects that needed to be repaired. Sink drain, valves to manage water flow for washer, hot water pressure tank adjustment, gas piping needed adjusted and some additional diagnostic work.

He was prompt, arrived 15 minutes early and then called to see if I was home or he would wait for the scheduled time. Was very friendly, nice, and honest. Fair prices and good services. Overall I was very satisfied with the work. He was on-time, did good quality work, was polite and cleaned up after himself.

THIS I CERTAINLY APPRECIATED. HE REPAIRED ALL THE PLUMBING LEAKS AND CHANGED PIPING WHERE REQUIRED. THREE DAYS AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE AND PAID, MY SON NOTICED A LEAK IN THE CEILING OF THE 2ND FLOOR (AREA HAD NOT BEEN CLOSED WITH DRYWALL) MR. PEPERA RETURNED, CHECKED THE AREA, INSTRUCTED MY SON IN WHAT TO DO, MY SON DID AS INSTRUCTED AND "NO MORE LEAK" I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS CONTRACTOR AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO REQUIRES PLUMBING WORK. I CONTACTED MR PEPERA AND HE CAME OUT ON SEPTEMBER 13,2010 TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF THE COST TO PERFORM MY WORIK. I FELT THAT HIS WRITTEN ESTI- MATE FOR THE WORK WAS REASONABLE COMPARED TO MY OTHER ESTIMATES AND ALSO THE FACT THAT MY NEPHEW WAS PLEASED WITH THE JOB THAT HE DID FOR HIM. ON THE DATE SCHEDULED FOR MY SERVICE, MR PEPERA CALLED TO STATE THAT HIS EQUIPMENT USED TO TRENCH WAS NOT WORKING AND WANTED ME TO RESCHEDULE. I WAS NOT WILLING TO DO THIS BECAUSE OF MY TIME CONSTRAINT. MR PEPERA MADE ARRANGEMENTS WITH ANOTHER COMPANY TO DO THE TRENCHING. IT WAS RAINING CATS & DOGS ON THE DAY OF THE WORK. THEY WORKED ALL DAY IN THE RAIN WITHOUT STOPPING FOR LUNCH. ( APPROXIMATELY 6-1/2 HOURS. THE JOB WAS DONE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THE SERVICEMEN WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND IN MOVING THE LARGE BUSHES AND TREE FROM THE FRONT YARD TO THE REAR YARD. EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE WAS DRINCED AND MUDDY BY THE CONSTANT RAIN THE ATTITUDES AND DEMEANOR OF THE SERVICEMAN AND MR. PEPERA WAS VERY PLEASANT.
Description of Work: HAD THE CITY OF CLEVELAND WATER LINE RAN FROM TREE LAWN TO INSIDE BASEMENT WALL OF HOME.(APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET) COMPANY EXCAVATED 6 FEET DOWN FROM FRONT PORCH OF HOME TO CURB BOX WATER VALVE, THEN INSTALLED NEW WATER VALVE. ALL WORK WAS INSPECTED BY THE CITY OF CLEVELAND AND PASSED INSPECTION. THE TRENCHED AREA WAS THEN BACK FILLED AND MOUNDED. THE LARGE BUSHES AND TREE THAT WAS NECESSARY TO REMOVE AND CUT DOWN FOR THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE REAR OF THE HOME. THIS WAS NOT A PART OF THE CONTRACT.

+ -1 moreI called Jimmy in for an estimate on a Friday. He gave me a quote to replce the two drain lines that I needed replaced for $500. He was able to fit me into his schedule the next week on Wednesday. The drain lines were already accessible from the downstairs bedroom ceiling but he still had to run up and down the stairs to complete the job. He finished all work and cleaned up better than expected in about 3 hours. He even went the extra mile to replace the trap on the upstairs sink because he saw a small leak and the piping there was fairly old. The final price was still just $500. Jimmy was fair and very friendly. He's been in the business for over 20 years. I'm already considering him for a few other jobs that I would like to have done to my house before I try to sell it later this year. I highly recommend him for your needs.
Description of Work: Jimmy replaced two clogged drain lines from my upstairs bathroom. The two drain lines were not able to be cleaned by chemicals or by mechanical means and attempts to do so by previous people resulted in damage to the piping.

+ -1 moreJimmy provided different examples of toilets and sinks. He promptly ordered them and installed them. He even came out when we had just had a very bad snow storm to do the job. In addition, he worked on a third bathroom toilet that had been overflowing and we haven't had an issue since. The newly installed toilet is quiet and uses so much less water, we plan to do further work with him on updating 2 more toilets and 2 sinks. Jimmy is honest, hard working and reliable. He's also very flexible with his schedule. His pricing is excellent and his knowledge is also impressive. I would highly recommend him.

+ 0 moreJimmy kept his schedule flexible enabling us complete the job before the New Year. He came in early or late in the day depending on when we needed some specific piece of plumbing hooked up. He finished the tub plumbing just in time for the tub refinisher to do his job. If Jimmy hadn't come when he did, we would have had to wait another two weeks to get the tub refinished. Another time, Jimmy installed a water coupler (?) on our refrigerator for $25 easily saving us hundreds of dollars, All I did was order the part on line. Very good plumber with a lot of integrity. And he works ALL the time.
