Pepera Plumbing

I hired this company to snake open two drains in two different rental properties, he charged me 500.00 each. I paid him for the first one, the second one was never opened. I was out of town working when this took place, by the time he sent me the invoice the second house tenant called and said that drain was not working since he left. When I complained about the price and the drain's still having issues he got defensive and said I should have been there to approve additional work. And was not professional at all. I have another company come out and correct it, for less then half the cost. Will not be using Pepera again.

I had hired them before and although the price was high then (sewer/drain snake etc.), they came right out and got the job done. So, I sent an email to the owner on 7-14-20 and asked him if he installed disposals as well as I'd like him to look at the sink plumbing because I thought it was leaking, and a prior handy man may not have done the work right. He sent an email on 7-15-20 to call the office to schedule, which I did, and ended up leaving a message. I did not hear anything all day and so I called again on 7-16-20 and spoke to the owner (Jim) directly at about 10:30 a.m. He said that he was going to send a guy out right now if I was ready. The gentleman showed up at a few minutes after 11:00, looked at the situation and then called his boss. He said that it would be $225 unless he had to snake the drain, then it would be more. He said that the leaking was the disposal. I had already purchased a new disposal, so I told him to go ahead. He took out the old and then found that the disposal I bought did not have direct wiring, which is what I needed. He told me it would be around $100 for a new disposal from them, and went out to the truck only to find the one he thought he had wasn't there. He then said he had to go to Edelman Plumbing to get a new one. He was back in about 40 minutes and went right to work. It turned out that the old disposal was leaking and everything was fine. Now, he had told me that when he discovered that the disposal I had was the wrong kind, he said "it will be $325 out-the-door" unless I wanted to go and get the right disposal myself and then call them back. I told him "no, that would be ridiculous. just use yours." When the job was done and he was making up the invoice, I gave him my check for $325 and he told me that now, it was $350 because he paid $125 for the new disposal and not $100. I said "you told me $325 out-the-door...that's not the way to do business." He said " I need another check for $350." So, I told him that I thought that wasn't right and that ' they charged me way too much to just install a disposal." He said that he "didn't make up the prices, he was just following orders." So, for 80 minutes of work, I paid $225 for labor, and $125 for the disposal (although I am sure they got a discount on that). If I look at my math on this, I did not think that plumbers would charge $168.75 per hour! I have other jobs coming up and will not call them if they are going to charge that much. That is way too high.! They do nice work, but, they need to be much more reasonable with their prices. I wasn't happy with the $325, but, I figured he started the job, so finish. Jim and Greg are very nice gentleman, and I am surprised about this, but, it's a free country and a business can charge whatever it wants. I just think that this job should not have cost me this much and they took advantage of me. I am disappointed.

The job was completed quickly by Greg once he arrived. The appointment was supposed to be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday July 30, 2019 but I did not hear from Jim the owner so I called him at 10:10 AM. He said he sent me a text that he was running late but I never received a text & he said he was on the way and should arrive around 10:30 AM. I did not hear from him and called again at about 11:10 AM & he said he was at another job and would send Greg. Then he told me he was looking at Wednesday rather then Tuesday. Greg arrived around 11:45 AM and cut out the old flange and installed a new one in about 30 minutes. Not sure if I would hire them again. If I did I would need to call in advance and confirm (maybe more than once)

Really conflicted about Pepera Plumbing. I hired the company for a job several months ago and was very pleased with everything. So when I had another project, I immediately called Jim and we agreed on a date. The night before I texted him to confirm a time and he said he had too much other work, but he didn't propose a new time. Over the next 10 days I contacted him twice to schedule a new appointment without any luck (I got no response to my last text). As much as I initially liked Pepera, I'm unfortunately left with a negative opinion.

I called in this morning as another company came and had a really high unacceptable price. They sent a crew out within the hour and gave me the quote right over the phone so I knew what to expect. Crew was professional and did a great job. i will definitely use them for my future jobs.

I called Pepera on a Saturday morning and scheduled an estimate for the following Thursday. They arrived early, which was fine for me. I was given an extremely fair quote for the large stainless laundry sink and I added a small side job with a slow drain. I was offered to have the work done the same day and I took that option. Within the hour the plumbers doing the installation arrived. Both were very courteous and professional. The work took longer than expected but did not change the agreed to price. The installation was extremely professional, they did it like a commercial application rather than a home given that it was a commercial quality faucet and sink. They were able to save the drywall they needed to remove and replaced that same piece with bracing side plywood and left it ready to tape and repair. They made quick decisions to modify the installation once they opened the wall and saw that there were additional pipes they could tap into rather than extend the old ones. They also asked me "appearance" questions so I could make decisions when a slight issue of a stud being in the way was discovered. I will use them again as I am launching into some other home projects that will require plumbing. I really was impressed by the work and the people I dealt with.

Outstanding. They responded immediately. Work was very professional and detailed. They protected floors and took old toilet and faucet away and cleaned up. I highly recommend and definitely will use again.

I called Jimmy at a little past 3 pm after noticing a wet spot on the ceiling of my family room ...it was wet enough that my finger pushed right though the drenched sheetrock. Jimmy listened to the problem, and explained that he could come by that afternoon ...as soon as he was finished with the job he was working. Stunned that he could come right over, I asked if he was okay to let himself in ... I had to be out for a couple of hours. He asked permission to cut away the sheetrock so he could see what was going on, and we agreed that he'd call me when he knew what was going on. I got home around 5:45 to find a neat hole cut in the family room ceiling, and a note from Jimmy. It was a leaking shower drain, so Jimmy repaired the drain and left an invoice, noting that he wanted me to be happy because we weren't able to speak before he did the repair. I was pleasantly surprised when he said he could come over the same day, and delighted that he took the initiative to make the repair. An emergency call, 2 hour response time, and the repair all for $200 ... this in an environment where I can't even get some contractors to call me back when I ask for a quote. Very high integrity. Very good judgement to make the repair. Very fair price. I will unhesitatingly call Jimmy again if I ever have a need.

Greg the plumber came and did an outstanding job. Most knowledgeable and polite plumber I’ve ever had in my house. I will hire him again soon!

A very responsive and professional company. Jimmy was very good to deal with and even gave me a ballpark cost estimate over the phone. Brian, the plumber who did the work was excellent and very personable as well. He was efficient and cleaned up the work area before he left my home. Thank you for a job well done.

Extremely unprofessional and rude. Wanted the estimate for the job he don't even to want to come to look at job and what I describe he randomly asked 2k, for 5-6 hr job, when I asked do you charge 400 dollars per hour, he was rude and told me to **** off

They came to my house today, within 1 hour of my call to assess the pipes that needed replacing (they had someone already in my area). I had to leave for a couple hours so Brian came back again later this afternoon after I returned and completed the work quickly (45mins or so). He was personable, funny, and very knowledgeable, answering all my questions and giving advice about future potential plumbing issues. He didn't mind that I was hovering, watching his work and asking questions almost the whole time. I will certainly call them again.

These guys were great. Had two other plumbers out previously that did not give me a good option for repair. Pepera had it fixed in a couple hours and for less cost. Quality work. Will definitely call them for any future plumbing needs. These guys were awesome.

I called Jim on a Sunday thinking to leave a message to schedule a repair or replacement of my water heater which had gone out. But Jim answered on the second ring and talked me through opening up the burner chamber to light it by hand. Once I'd opened it I saw the piezoelectric starter was actually working, I just couldn't see it through the window. When I went through the lighting steps this time it fired right up (no idea why it didn't start when I tried earlier). So big thanks to Jim for helping me to get it working! No doubt I'll be calling him soon when it conks out again.

It went fine, but think I paid on the high end of the price range for the work. He quoted me $1,200 as an all inclusive price over the phone but then charged me another $30 for a catch pan.

They suggested a low-end priced option for me because I rarely use the disposal. They could have suggested something more expensive, but they didn't!! They came when they said they would, the new disposal works perfectly, and were professional in every way.

They came on the same day we called. They were professional and spent the time to diagnose where the problem was. They resolved the issue in a couple of hours.

My hot water tank died on a Fri. Jim was very friendly and helpful answering questions on the phone. He came out Sat. to replace it. I paid a bit more but it was worth it to not wait until the following week for hot water.

Well, it was a semi-emergency. He came out on a rainy day. He didn't make any excuses he dropped what he was doing and did what he had to do for me. I don't shop around for my plumber; his price is certainly fair. I don't think he's any less expensive or more. They seem to do very nice work. Very responsive. He very, very professional. He's coming out here next week or so to do some work for me, so yes I would use him again.

I was without water for a week looking for the right company as I've been burned before. Pepera was prompt, local (a bonus), and got it done right. The only small downside is having to downgrade from the builder 80 gallon (with two teen girls in the house), but that wasn't in their control. In fact, since he accidentally forgot the pan he gave me an additional discount and was already lower than the company I'd planned to use!

Jimmy came and told us the cause, and that parts were needed, but that our fixtures were so old, there are no longer parts to be gotten. New replacements would cost thousands. My husband and Jimmy discussed an alternatative solution, albeit not very beautiful, but certainly way less expensive. We now have functioning bath fixtures. This is not the first time Jimmy has saved us money. We will be contacting him again...
