+ 1 moreOverall, they did an excellent job and I am glad I used Pepera Plumbing. Jimmy was pleasant over the phone. He was able to get me in for an appointment on my schedule. He arrived on time and ready to work. He gave me sound advice about my plumbing issue. He explained things in terms that were easy to understand. Both he and his apprentice cleaned up after themselves before they left. I thought the pricing was fair considering my problem was more extensive then I originally thought.
Description of Work: Jimmy came out because I had a bathtub that was draining very slowly and a bathroom sink that was completely blocked. He arrived on time with an apprentice and after brief introductions they took off their boots and got to work. Jimmy was very pleasant over the phone when I made my initial call. So I knew, right off the bat, that I would be doing business with his company. His apprentice placed a drop cloth down in the bathroom and started the work while Jimmy and I toured my home. Jimmy gave me an assessment of my plumbing system and then an estimate on how much it would cost to do the work needed. He also gave me some sound advice about replacing my hot water tank at the same time I have the more extensive (future) plumbing work done. It made more since in terms of time and labor and would cost me less money in the long run. Afterwards, Jimmy rejoined his apprentice and after a thorough review of the problems under the bathroom sink he advised that not only would he have to snake my drain but the pipes would have to be replaced because they were old and rotted. My pop-up assembly on the sink also did not work. At first, I was going to leave it as is, because they could not match the color of my current fixture but Jimmy explained that when they tried to remove the old pop-assembly it was completely rotted and old and broke apart. Jimmy replaced the piping under the sink, snaked both the sink and the bathtub drains, replaced the old pop up assembly with a new one and neither he or his apprentice left any visible signs that they were there.

Description of Work: The water line from our basement to the refrigerator on the ground floor needed to be replaced. A first attempt by another company failed completely. So I used Angie's List, located Pepera Plumbing. He came out, went to work and solved the problem when he said he would. It was not trivial as there was quite a bit of duct work that needed to be accounted for. I have nothing but good things to say about this company.

+ -1 moreThey did and excellent job. Jim explained what the problem was with the draining of my tub and told me that in order to fix it he would need to create a hole in my ceiling. He was apolegetic even though the plaster was already ruined from the tub problem in that area. He was also careful to warn me that since my old toilets had been bolted to the wall that and the new toilets were much smaller that this would become visible. I especially appreciated the fact that he hooked up my stove for me when he came out to give the quote so I could use it over the weekend even though it was late. They cleaned up after themselves and were careful enough to remove their boots so they wouldn't track all over my floors.
Description of Work: Jim and his crew installed 2 toilets, a dishwasher, hooked up the gas line to my new stove and replaced the "baby waste" for my old clawfoot tub.

+ -1 moreOn Sunday evening we discovered that our toilet was leaking into our basement. Early Monday morning we called Pepera Plumbing and he came out immediuatly and lifted the toilet out and replaced all of the parts underneath. He could then have put the toilet back and saved his time and profit, but he suggested that we keep the floor exposed for 24 hours to dry it out and reduce smell etc. and he came back the next day during the only hour we were available and still did it for his estimate. He did a good job and did it around our schedule!
Description of Work: They repaired a terrible toilet leakage problem.

It was kind of an emergency since out-of-town company was arriving today. They said they'd try to be here today, but couldn't guarantee. They made it and fixed both within an hour or so. They called to confirm the time they were coming and in general, were professional and friendly. We really appreciated their effort to solve our problem in time for our company to arrive. So far, so good!

After reaching him, I told him the problem, and he 1)asked what sound I heard when I turned on the disposal, and then 2) told me how to locate the reset button. Voila! The disposal is working! + -1 moreOverall the response to my initial phone call was quick, the estimate of time and labor was also given promptly. I needed the work done almost immediately due to my busy schedule. All the work was completed when it was promised to be done. The work area was cleaned up afterward and all the owrk completed has continued to function as promised.
Description of Work: I had a number of plumbing issues ranging from leaks to replacement of sinks and fixtures. All work was handled professionally and promptly. I was very pleased with the professionalism and pleasant demeanor of the plumber and his assitant.

+ -1 moreI started noticing that when I did my laundry, the basement floor underneath the washing machine was wet. It was getting to the point that the water was moving towards the furnace when I washed. So I called Mr. Pepera and told him what was going on. Before this, I had tried to snake out the drain by the washing machine. I removed 2 paper towels and got nothing else. So he came over and started out with a hand snake. He then told me that the drain was blocked between my house and the street. To which I replied of course it is with the kind of luck I have! He then went out to his truck and brought in an industrial strength snake that required both him and his assistant to carry. I think he started around 7pm and at 9pm he asked me if I wanted him to continue or come back tommorrow. I told him that it was late, he needs to get some rest so tomorrow was fine. He returned the next evening and was able to clear the drain. He told me that the drain was clogged with nothing but feminine products, courtesy of my son's girlfriend! I have used Jimmy's plumbing service about 5-6 times and he has never let me down. He is honest, dependable, reliable and arrives on time.
Description of Work: Mr. Pepera snaked out my basement drain between my house and the street. It took him 2 days to clear my drain and he removed a kitchen garbadge bag full of feminine products.

Description of Work: He answered my call very promptly and had time to come that same day when I said I had a leak in a faucet. He gave me several options: repair existing faucet, replace the faucet and a complete job, including a new trap and connections below the sink and new shut off valves. I chose the latter. The work was done well and promptly and they cleaned up after the work well.

He did not charge anything for his second visit. He's very pleasant and professional. I felt that he had very high integrity.
Description of Work: He installed a new handicapped toilet for us. He also installed new pipes for our tub, and put sealant around the tub to prevent leaks.

+ -1 morePepera Plumbing came out right away and determined the proplem at no charge and then gave a estimate of what the job would cost. He and his team (3 all together) did a great job removing the old transition and replacing it with new the correct and proper way. It was a tricky job because of older house. Had to do it through the kitchen ceiling. When completed with transition replaced the toilet and cleaned up all work related mess. I highly recommend.
Description of Work: A 90° transition from the cast iron soil pipe to the upstairs bathroom developed a hole/major leak.

Description of Work: Jim has been to our home several times for different small repairs and installation of a new sump pump. The sump pump had to be quickly installed when ours quit working after a major storm, and he was able to help us during this emergency. Description of Work: Met Jimmy many years ago when he did plumbing work for my father. Had a single handle bath faucet which was leaking. My attempt to fix it did not work. Called Jimmy up to replace the brass cartridge receptacle that was soldered behind the wall.

+ -1 moreWe first met Jimmy about 18 months ago before he opened his own business. Another contractor recommended him, and we called upon him to fix a leak in the shower pipes in the main bathroom. He came immediately, returned when there was a secondary leak caused by a faulty coupling, and worked with us to get reimbursement from the home warranty insurance company. When we discovered that our recent bathroom remodeling project involved serious plumbing issues, we called him again. He came over within a few days, explained what he thought should be done, gave us an estimate, and did the preliminary work needed immediately so the new flooring could be installed. Within a week (giving me time to paint), he returned to install the new bathroom appliances. Unfortunately, he lost an hour waiting for the home improvement store to find and load our appliances, had to supply parts for the shower faucet that were missing from the box, and finally had to leave for another job when we discovered the vanity sink was damaged. He offered to return a few days later on a Saturday to finish the job, which he did. Everything is installed and working fine, and we have had no problems with leaks. We have found Jimmy to be honest, responsive, professional, and hard working. He explains what he thinks should be done, offers a fair price, comes when it suits our work schedules, and cleans up afterward. We highly recommend him.
Description of Work: We had to have part of the main bathroom floor rebuilt where the old toilet had been leaking before new flooring could be installed. Jimmy and his assistant then returned after the flooring in both bathrooms was finished. In the main bath they installed a new toilet, vanity, sink top, sink faucet, shower faucet and shower head and rehung a cabinet I had removed so I could repaint the room. In the half bath they installed a new toilet and replaced the vanity sink that had been moved so flooring could be laid. Jimmy also pointed out a leak in the basement, explained how the pipes, some of which were corroded, were not very well connected to maximize water flow. We followed his recommendation to have new pipes installed.

+ -1 moreI called Mr. Pepera on Friday, August 5, 2011 to see if I could schedule an appointment on Saturday, August 6th. He informed me he had another job in the morning, but, he would come to my house right after he finished, which he did. I was given a call to inform me that he was on his way. I was given two options; to replace the damaged tubing area with plastic or to replace the entire line with copper tubing. I selected the copper tubing. The copper tubing of course was more expensive, but, I felt this was the best option to try to prevent from having another leakage in the ice maker water line.
Description of Work: Replaced plastic water tubing for the ice maker connection with a copper tubing line. The plastic tubing had a pinched area in it that was leaking water. Mr. Pepera fixed the problem quickly and with excellent customer service. Mr. Pepera supplied plenty of copper tubing to enable me to pull out the refrigerator when needed. It was good to know that Pepera Plumbing does charge ANYTHING for giving estimates. If you agree to have the work done fine, if not, you pay nothing for him to drive out and give you an estimate.
