Feel like we got scammed. The guy who came out to our home said we needed 5 beams in the basement to remedy a situation in which the former owner removed support beams in the finished basement. We were so nervous after seeing the cracks in the home we just wanted it repaired right away and thought these people were experts. The day they came, they wanted to cut into a load bearing wall to pour concrete for the beam and said we'd have to repair it after. I am no home expert but i know you should not cut into a load bearing wall and leave it unfinished as they suggested. I knew right then these people knew nothing about doing the repairs the right way. We told them no for that beam and they put up the other 4. A couple months later when we had someone come to look at a bathroom remodel project and they went into the basement they were shocked at the work that was done and told us we really only needed 1-2 beams. Beware when using these people. They do run things by a structural engineering company but the engineer never sets foot in your house and I'm pretty sure they just stamp the paper. We are still so upset about the work that was done and wish we had actually had a structural engineer come out.

The guys did a great job. My house was built in the very early 1900’s on a clay tile foundation and over the years one of the walls had started to crack and bow. Ohio Basement reinforced the wall for me in a very timely manor and it was spotless when they had finished.

This company is awesome...from Mike Roberts (sales) to James, Lavael and Clarence that did the work in the basement. They all were on time, professional and willing to go the extra mile to do the best job possible. I can't thank them enough for the great job!

The crew arrived on time and worked until job was finished. They were careful to limit dust to work area, and sealed everything off with plastic sheeting. Did a great job and cleaned up the area well when completed. Marcus's crew was great, and we are pleased with the company and employees who helped us.

Sales Rep. Kevin took plenty of time to explain how repairs would be made, and the expected outcome. The work crew showed up right on time, introduced themselves and were very courteous and respectful of our property. They went to work right away and when they finished, they explained to us what was done, and how long it would take for the concrete to dry. Cleaned up the area very nicely. Would hire again, and we have referred them to our friends. Great Job!

They have never showed up supposed to do it last November called cancel Twice they are supposed to come March 1 I put 515 dollars down

Chris Shewell came to perform an annual inspection of my sump pump system. Before starting, he thoroughly explained what he was going to do and invited me to observe the process. I watched as he removed the pumps from the well, cleaned and adjusted them as necessary. He explained every step and asked if I had any questions. He also did an inspection of the whole basement and gave me an evaluation of the condition of the walls and any potential problem areas. In addition, he checked the exterior of the house and the downspouts. Chris also went over the warranty with my wife and I. He also explained that Ohio Basement Systems had been acquired by Groundworks, a nationwide company, and our warranty would not change with the transfer. We were very pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism of the entire process and would recommend this company to anyone. There was no charge due to the first annual inspection being free.

Kevin S. Spent two hours going over a detailed analysis of the water issues in our basement. He gave us an estimate but at this time no services have been scheduled

Kevin Sweeney and Matt Thomas came to home spent 2 hours diagnosing the problem and walking through the solution. They were easy to understand and respectful. I would recommend getting an estimate from them.

Called 3 concrete leveling companies and they were the only one who insisted I be there--to make matters worse, they charge a fee if you're not. Not sure what makes them so special to require the homeowner to be there when an estimate is being made for an exterior project. It's 2019, time to make appointments convenient for your (potential) customers. Like your competitors do.

Cancelled job, lost deposit,, for now. Lawyer involved. Was told by DJ on Aug 21st that materials were already ordered for a job to begin on Oct 4th. Was told permits already pulled. I checked online and then went to the City of Akron/Summit County on Aug 26th (same building, but separate divisions) on Tallmadge Ave. and both city and county had no record of permits being pulled on my property by OBS or their other name under which they go by. DJ also told me when I signed up on July 17th that I could cancel beyond the three business days as long as materials weren't delivered. So much for a hand shake.

It went very well. Mark and Joe were great. Any questions we had were answered every day before they left. They cleaned up every day before they left. We are very happy with everything so far.

Terrible. I was in bed sick and the tech came to the house and refused to give an estimate because he wanted both myself and husband to be present. We went with another company.

Foundation repair went excellent. Alex Tenney and his crew was fantastic. They were very courteous, prompt, considerate, and helpful with any questions we had. It was a good process from beginning to end. I would highly recommend Ohio Basement Systems for any Basement issues.

It was great! They were on time, professional and their systems seems good. When you sign up with them, just make sure you have a term that they put the outside back where they found it.

Brett Boehme, the Service Technician, came on time. He was very knowledgeable and very professional. He checked the sump pump very thoroughly, as well as the walls. Brett answered my questions and explained about other things that I could do to help strengthen the walls in my basement. I was very satisfied and will continue to use Ohio Basement Systems in the future. I highly recommend this company and Brett.

We originally thought we would need to do a lot of demo to fix our issue but our service technician Larry was able to identify the root cause of some residual water build up in the system. This significantly reduced the need for demo. Larry also was very thorough in explaining what all was being done and most importantly why things were being done or not done. He also checked every part of the system to make sure the channels were all clear as well as the sump being in good shape as well. He was also able to provide some recommendations to help maintain the system.

The crew was good, and always very respectful. They cleaned up after themselves.

The Ohio Basement Systems team that did the repair of the basement wall at my house in North Royalton, OH was a group of very professional individuals who are truly experts in their trade. A part of the basement wall cracked due to pressure from the soil outside, and the cracked portion moved inward and threatened to potentially dislocate the gas furnace inside the basement. From the time I first contacted the company regarding the problem and after their initial inspection of the house, they explained to me in clear terms their proposed solution and how it would solve the wall problem. And throughout that time that they were doing the project and until its completion, they again would, at various stages, let me know and actually see the progress -- what components have been installed, which components were used to straighten the cracked part of the wall, and how the complete technical solution would stabilize the entire basement wall. My special thanks to the production manager/team lead, Joe Tenney, for making sure that he and the rest of his team were communicating with me throughout the project and for delivering a quality work product in which I have complete confidence. In addition, the company warranty on their work product is quite re-assuring. I will certainly hire them again if in the future I have a need for their service, and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to anyone.

. During the estimate, Troy told us their trained crewmembers use cameras and slowly lift the slab so as not to damage pipes and heating located under it. He told us the slab needed to be lifted about 1 ½ inches and the area in the hallway also needed lifted. The contract he drew up used this description of an 11x11 area and also stated that the workers would move the washer, dryer, and wooden shelves in the laundry room. The washer was never moved. There were no cameras and workers assured me that my heating ducts ran east and west, not north and south as I told them. The workers finished quickly stating that they had filled a large void under the laundry room floor. When the room became very cold later in the day, I discovered that the “void” they had filled was my heating duct. Had they reached into the vent opening, they would have known that there was a T just 4 inches away connecting to a north south heating duct (the one that is now totally clogged). At the time of the work, I pointed out that the hall floor and the floor behind the washer had not been raised. This was brushed off as not necessary. Had they moved the washer as stated in the contract and placed their fill hole in the area under it, both of these problems may have been avoided. I also feel that we were overcharged since the floor was raised at most ¾ inch in only one corner and from ½ inch to nothing in other areas. The total area covered was less than 7x11. Any extra material used was deposited into my heating duct.
