Moseley Masonry Chimney Sweep, Inc

Mr. Moseley was very friendly and seemed knowledgable. However, when I received the estimate I was , quite frankly, offended. It stated that my chimney needed waterproofed, the crown sealed, the flashing replaced and a cricket installed. The estimate for that was $4300. I thought this was exorbitant. I've since had other estimates that haven't even come close to this. I would like to have the chimney saver and crown coat products done, but without getting other comparable estimates do not feel comfortable trusting the price estimated.

I originally called Moseley for advice about some moisture/mold in our house that was behind a brick wall. There wasn't a lot of advice regarding that, but they did say the chimney was deteriorating and recommended the top 20 layers be replaced. After getting three estimates from other companies, all saying the same thing, we chose Moseley and have been glad we did. It took a while for the work to be scheduled due to weather and the demand on their services. Communication was great when I called or emailed with questions. The work crew was efficient and polite. The new brick was matched extremely well to our exsisiting brick, and the chimney looks amazing. Would be very confident recommending Moseley to anyone who needs chimney work. Their bid on the work was half of another estimate.

He showed up on time. Was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. I will use them again next year.

Dan came out and gave us an estimate to replace the cap and the top 1/3 of our chimney. He was on time, seemed honest and worked with us in a professional manner. After a several other estimates, we called Moseley and agreed upon a price and scheduled the work. After the work was completed, we had a slight issue which was handled professionally and fast. Mark, the owner, took over and reassured us that "the job isn't finished until the customer is happy". What a statement from Mark. All I can say is that we have never been treated with such respect and reassurance that the job would be done right. Mark held to his words and finished the job to our satisfaction. Not only was Mark understanding and helpful but his entire team from the front office to the laborers acted in the same manner. They were all there to keep us informed and made sure we ended up a satisfied Moseley Chimney customer. I would highly recommend Moseley Chimney for your chimney needs. From the beginning to the end, they were honest, respectful, and their workmanship was great. If we ever need a chimney company again, Moseley will be the one we'll call. They are the best!

It went excellent. Mark was on time and very comfortable person to talk with. We have not decided on a provider to repair our chimney, but he is so far at the top of our list. His quote came in close to the others we have received to-date. We will be making our final decision in the next week or two. If he is selected we will do another review after the work has been completed. Mark was very thorough in his examination of the work area and took pictures to shows the issues at hand. His estimate is clear and spells out exactly what he will do and provide. The best was that he does not ask for a down payment of any sort prior to the beginning of the work. He emphasized that he gets paid only when the job is done and you are happy.

Dan arrived promptly, brought in his equipment and cleaned the chimney. He let me know that I didn't need a new damper because the old one was just fine. It just needed to be put back in line. Total time 30-45 minutes (don't remember exactly). I would recommend to friends and family.

The estimator came when he said he would. He was very nice. He can seal the inside of the chimney, put a liner on the inside or he could do both. I have not yet hired anyone for the work. He explained what he was going to do very well.

He came out, he was on time and checked our chimney. He charged us only for a service call. He did an inspection of the chimney and said it didn't need to be cleaned. They are honest and prompt.

It was good. They did an excellent and thorough job. The price was fair.

UNSCRUPULOUS- BUYERS BEWARE! Worst contractor ever. Quoted $1800 of unnecessary work for flue options I wasn't interested in. Rescheduled multiple times. Quoted crown seal job. When technician appeared, jacked up the price $500 to build up a concrete crown. I said OK. Still waiting. Worse yet - I rejected several good quotes! AWFUL . . .

I was concerned with a big repair bill when my tenant said that the flue seemed rusted shut. Apparently, it was not the case but the repairmen did inspect the rest of the chimney, sealed it, and gave us the confirmation that the it was safe to use. I realized, I did not complete the review last year but wanted to share my positive experience with Moseley Masonry Chimney Sweep, Inc. I recently recommended Moseley to my brother who also has chimney issues and assured him that these guys will be honest with him.

Called them for a chimney sweep since there was a ton of debris that fell down. This is a gas fireplace that we have never used since we lived there a year. We suspected an animal and we couldn't get the flue all the way shut.

They did a great job ,we would use them again.

My experience with Moseley Masonry & Chimney Sweep started when I was getting estimates for getting my chimney cleaned. They were the second company to confirm to me that I had had a chimney fire. They also were the second company to suggest to me to get a liner installed. So I got an estimate for that. I also got estimates for a new wood burning fireplace insert and getting the bricks on my chimney re-tucked and sealed. Mr Masonry himself was the one to come out and give me the estimate. He was very good with explaining to me on what he saw in the chimney and even brought down a piece of the creosote to show me.He was very respectful and it was obvious that he knew his stuff. I liked the fact that the people he has do the work are his direct employees and not contractors. He did not pressure me into any decision. He left me with brochures of inserts with multiple price options and invited me to their show room to look at the inserts in person. I received my quote quickly. Once I decided to go with Moseley Masonry & Chimney Sweep, the scheduling was very easy. They ordered the insert and called me when it came in. We scheduled a day to get everything done. They sent out a team of two gentlemen that were very respectful. They were very good and thorough with cleaning the chimney, installing the liner and the insert and re-tucked the chimney. They were able to do everything in one day. They said the only thing they would have to do was to come back the next day to seal the chimney once the cement dried, but I didn't have to be there because they didn't need to get into the house for anything. Overall I liked my experience with Moseley Masonry & Chimney Sweep they were very professional and respectful.

Dan was very friendly and professional. By the looks of it the insert had been heavily used but not well maintained. Dan told us how to take care of the insert and showed us how to start a fire. Having recently moved from Florida we were a bit clueless! He swept the chimney which was a good thing because there was a ton of creosote! He answered all of our questions and cleaned up after himself. We will definitely be using this company for all of our chimney needs!

Very well. When the job was completed, I could not distinguish the new bricks from the old. Provider was friendly and professional and the work was done according to their estimate and schedule. No issues with the work at all.

On time and polite. Small job, so paid minimum charge. We thought there would be more of a clean up with the excess cement areas. Bottom line is the steps are safe again.

Mark Moseley (owner) personally came to my home when collecting estimates to review the work required. The Moseley crew was very professional, timely, and polite when it came to performing the work at our home...all Moseley representatives did not hesitate to address concerns and/or to bring up additional recommendations. At the end of each working day, Moseley representatives reviewed the work performed and the work to be accomplished next...kept the owner in the loop start to finish. Mark Moseley performed the final inspection with owner to ensure all work performed according to contract specs and owner's satisfaction. Overall we were very satisfied with the services performed at a fair price; would definitely use Moseley again!

Excellent work at a reasonable price

I trust this company. We decided to do something different with our fireplace, upon his suggestion to have a gas insert. If we had gone ahead with the repair, he was our first choice, with the best price of all the estimates.
