MTD PAINTING

Very well other than the weather didn't cooperate at all!

This job went nearly perfectly from my perspective. The crew showed up when they were scheduled to, and finished before I would have expected. We had a few days of delay due to the weather, but as soon as rain was out of the forecast they were back on the job. They did everything they said they would, which is more than I can say for any other painting company I have hired (I have used three other outfits before MTD). One of the best parts about the job was the way MTD left the area when the job was done- there were no paint chips scattered about, no broken bushes, no paint where it wasn't supposed to be. In short, except for the house looking great there was no sign they had been here. They even used a shop vac to clean the scraped paint off the roof! I've been unhappy with most contractors that I have used- generally the work is sloppy and rushed, there is no effort made to clean up, and corners are cut wherever possible. MTD did exactly what they were contracted to do, and did so without being micromanaged or supervised. I will say their price was slightly higher than the other quotes I got, but I firmly believe they were worth it. Having quality work done right the first time seems to be a rarity, so I will certainly use MTD again.

Very responsive on quoting and quick on work. All work done timely and neatly with complete cleanup.

Their estimate was for $34000 and it was ridiculous. They were ten times more than my lowest estimate. I had estimates ranging from $3500 up to $7000. They seemed okay when we first met but then they were outrageous on the estimate. They tried to push me into using them. They sent me an email telling me that my house was in a historic area and because of the year, it must have lead in it. They told me that they would turn me in to the lead place if I did not have them take care of it by removing all the lead. I have lived here for twenty seven years and I have dealt with lead abatement. I knew that it would not cost $34000. I thought that they were con artists. Their response was quick but the threatening letter took it away from them. I would never consider them for another estimate.

Team of 6 came in to do the work as I was on a tight time schedule. Work has done in an efficient and careful manor. All the workers took time to remove and clean vents and light covers. Touch-up and clean-up were verified each night before the crew left. Final walk-through show an excellent job done a day before expected date. GREAT JOB! Thanks a million.

They did a very nice job and pretty much cleaned up after themselves. They were not as prompt or responsive as I would have liked but they did get the job done in a reasonable time frame.

Tina and Mark came out after another job to give me the estimate on mine. They were hot and tired but friendly as h***. I grabbed us some cold ones and proceeded to show them around. They made sure they knew what I wanted and got back to me within a few days with the estimate. Their estimate was very competitive with the others I had received. I went with MTD not only because of their reputation on Angie's List but also because they made me feel like they really cared (they do). Mark and Tina are good people. They know their craft and they take pride in their work. I cannot say enough about my experience. Mark and Tina spent over an hour just helping me pick colors for the inside. They are not afraid to give honest advice (I needed it). I gave them a key to the front door and they never abused my trust. The house was always locked up when I came home from work and the cleanup was commendable.I never felt like I had to tiptoe around work or debris. (I did let them use my front room for storage of all the stuff but I can stay out of one room for a week). Everyone in their crew was friendly, polite and helpful. The work schedule and their estimates of completion were pretty much spot on. I had a couple other projects with contractors ongoing and MTD worked around and through every obstacle thrown at them. Quality of work? Amazing. I could have hired someone to just paint and saved a few bucks. I am so glad I didn't. Mark and Tina take a personal pride in their work. (Just the caulking alone...they caulk everything!) They know what a good job looks like and they will not give you anything less. Mark and Tina rock.

We are sure glad that we fund Mark & Tina Decker (MTD) on Angie's List. they made our project enjoyable and stress free. Mark made sure his crew was set up and going and Tine was there everyday to supervise and even helped paint. MTD's crew were courteous, efficient and professional. The price included removing and replacing all of the items on our was and moving and replacing all of our furniture. They even ran our vacuum when necessary. They answered all of our email correspondence and gave us a time frame for completion. The job was done in fewer days then they estimated and we couldn't be happier. The price they gave us was very good considering all of the work and materials. We plan to have three bedrooms painted later in the year and we sure know who will be d*** them for us when the time comes. if you want the job done right and on time choose MTD Painting. I called and asked for an estimate. It took them a couple days to return my call. Once I talked to them, we set up an appt. for the estimate. They were right on time, as a matter of fact, they arrived 15 minutes early. They emailed me the est. about 3 or 4 days later. I called a week later and left a message that I wanted to go ahead with the job. They never responded, but showed up 3 days later with paint in hand and got the job done. Tina and her daughter did a great job and I am very happy with the results! I will definitely use them again.

We contacted MTD Painting last summer. Met with Mark and Tina to discuss the project of exterior and interior painting and repairs. Two other companies were also contacted. One came out but never submitted a quote the other never found time to come and review the job. We had an unexpected expense arise and delayed the project for a year. MTD stayed in touch periodically through out the winter. This spring we were ready to proceed. MTD came out again and reviewed project and made great suggestions on color choices for the interior rooms. They started with the interior in early April and completed a complete upgrade of our dinning room. We abosolutly love the result! We had family over for Easter and received numerous complements on the quality of the work and the coordination of color flow from room to room. Because of the on-going rain the exterior portion of the project took longer to complete, but it also required much more wood replacement work. They completed all of the repairs and replacement of damaged wood trim and siding and the quality of the painting gives us confidence that it will last a long time. MTD was professional, friendly, respectiful of our home and privacy while completing a very large project. They took care to clean up at the end of each day. They also moved all furniture before and after painting. One day we came home and discovered that the family room had been completed. Other that the new color on the walls there was no evidence that they had worked on the room. We are extremely happy with the workmanship, care and professionalism exhibited by MTD Painting. We are planning another project next year to remodel our Master bathroom, second bathroom and additional bed rooms. We know who we will trust for the wall paper removal, dry wall repair and painting. We plan to use them again and highly recommend them to our family and friends!

One job was small and I needed it urgently, they came to my rescue and worked in the evening after normal hours to do my job. Also, they did an entire house for me, interior and exterior, as well as, tileing 3 flooring. There is nothing that they can't do. They also filled in all the other little details and gaps that all the other contractors missed or left out. I totally recommend them for all remodeling needs.They are wonderful folks and a pleasure to have around.

They completed two projects for me. Three words describe my experience with MTD - "value" and "customer satisfaction". I will definitely recommend them to friends and will use them again.

From returning our initial phone call through estimating and completion the job could not have gone any smoother and we are extremely happy with the outcome. MTD completed the work in a timely very professional manner, Preperation was extensive and they took great care to protect woodwork and such from any stray drips. Cleanup was very thorough. The bid included the material and moving the furniture. We will call them for any future painting needs we have.

They did a wonderful job. They have done several jobs for me in the past. Those include painting my condo, remodeled my bathroom, help with my kitchen, and my basement(which looks wonderful), and painted my garage and put epoxy on the floor. They are very trustworthy. I was able to give them a key when I went to work. They have even place flowers on my mantle after finishing a painting project.

Work was started on a Tuesday and finished up with a few hours work on Saturday. Each day after the work was done for the day everything was tidied up nicely in the rooms. They work in a team fashion with all having certain responsibilities to get the job done. All furniture and room accessories were moved by MDT people which was especially helpful. When work on a room was completed, the room was put back together as it was before the painting was done. We added doing the crown molding work as an extra and that was no problem for Mark. He not only did the work, but also did the shopping and picked up the molding for us. They were very particular about making sure the quality of their work met our approval. We were very pleased with all the work done and that it was done in a timely manner.

The job went well -- the house body color remains to be painted, but the trim looks great. They appeared to be careful with the woodwork during prep, used taprs to catch paint scrapings, and cleaned up the paint debris each day.

Excellent service. Will call them again. They are professional, reasonably priced, and prompt. A pleasure to work with them.

This was a wonderful experience. I was not looking forward to having this job done and we put it off. MTD Painting was wonderful. Like the TV ads they even took my puppy out!! My furniture and furnishings were treated with regard and no mishaps occurred. Actually, my house was cleaner when they left. Their attention to detail was appreciated.

Wonderful! They were there when they said they would be and kept me informed when they could not due to other commitments. They even worked on Saturday. The quote was for 2 coats of paint but Mark was not happy with it and applied a 3rd coat at no charge. They even got more screws to attach the awnings when I could not locate all the old ones and came up with a spacer for one of them - I forgot to look for the one I already had. I felt completely comfortable having them work on the house when I was not home. Tina suggested fixing things that I had not thought of asking for but needed to be a part of the job. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. It is great to be able to support a local small business that does a great job.

Excellent job from start to finish. Prompt call back and very flexible to schedule an estimate based on my working hours. They were able to fit us in their schedule and we were very pleased with the efficient, neat job. They paid alot of attention to detail and I felt that they strive to do work they are proud of. With two or 3 people working, it was complete in 2 days. (thankfully beating the mayfly hatch). Mark and Tina are extremely personable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services.

Contact Mark and Tina via Angieslist. They came over to look at the scope of the work and e-mailed me an estimate about a day later. Looked good, so we set up a day. They were a bit late on the agreed upon day due to a job the night before, but nothing unreasonable. As soon as they got there, they got right to work. Mark and Tina and, I think, their daughter, were extremely pleasant and professional people. Despite the hot and muggy conditions, they knocked the job out with a smile. The whole thing took about 5 hours including clean up. Much faster than I expected. The end results were great and I got a compliment from the neighbor about 5 minutes after Mark and Tina left. Would definitely use again.

On time, friendly, finished when promised. Took extra care to clean up some spills I made earlier.

The job started on time, and other than a short period because of weather, they stuck with it to get the job done ahead of the promised date. They are an exceptionally professional operation and I could not be happier with their work. As a testimony, I subsequently hired them to do some work at my home.

After the colors were picked Mark and Tina suggested the quality of paint to use and began shortly after that decision. the colors were exactly as specified. there was one time when I came home to see a color used we had not picked and was ugly as possible, but was told that that was a tinted primer and only the base coat. From that point I would ask "is that the primer color?" before inspecting the daily work. The only days they did not work was for a rain day, which happened a couple times... if the house was still wet they would wait until it was dry; I appreciated that! The crew was prompt and always left each evening with the yard and house neat! We get constant complements and have referred them to whomever asks, We even left the "yard sign" in the front yard for several weeks after they finished the work.
