Provider called the morning of inspection to inform me when he would arrived. Provider explained to me each step he was doing as he inspected furnace. Provider preformed check points and cleaned furnace. This included the burners. (No other provider has ever cleaned my furnace burners during an inspection). This is the second time I have dealt with Action. The first was at my sisters when she had a minor furnace issue, and the second was at my residence where the problem was not so minor. I called Action and Terry actually tried to help me resolve my issue over the phone which i appreciated, but the problem became major and he had to come out, and in a very timely manor considering the Polar Vortex that recently descended upon us. I like the way these guys operate show up, assess the problem (fried blower motor) layout the options and get going no pressure.They also don't mind giving advice that might help you save service calls. I would definitely recommend Action they're stand up guys. Oh yeah, Terry knows his trivia!!

He found the problem with the ignitor right away, however we found an even bigger problem with the exhaust piping. Even though his crews were on different job, a crew came out early in the evening to replace and test the furnace exhaust and operation of the furnace to my satisfaction. Meanwhile, Mike made several recommendations regarding my chimney to be caqrried out in warm weather. I was very pleses with the determination to finish the job, and Mike's subsequent follow up call.

My furnace was not working, he came out and assessed the problem. I needed a gas valve and he did not have this item for my furnance type. He gave me some names to call to locate the part and voiced an apology that he could not get the furnace up and running. He had valves but not what I needed. He was professional, came to the house quickly and was very helpful. He explained the problem and explained what needed to be done. He did not charge for the assessment and I am still in awe of the customer service I just experienced. I will call them whenever I need service on our furnance.

I was very pleased with with knowledgable service and promptness. Terry was friendly and fair. The price was very reasonable for the service (and part needed) for a Sunday call. I will definitely call Terry for any need in the future.

Terry then explained to me that the Lennox pulse furnace isn't made anymore and requires special tools and equipment to properly perform the service. I first encountered Action Heating through an Angie?s list promotion that they were offering. I was very pleased with the tune up that they had given me. So, I scheduled them to come in and install a automatic humidifier system on my forced-air heating system. They did an outstanding job and displayed an extremely high level of professionalism. Let me explain. My house is old (1897) and full of wood. We have owned the house for almost five years, and I have always dreaded the dryness of winter. I finally got a hygrometer this year and started to measure my humidity level. It was registering anywhere from 20% to as low as 10% on some mornings. My sinuses have been suffering tremendously and my skin is itchy and dry . I have several pets who are trapped in this house all day. I have been seeing signs of itchy, dry skin on them, as well. I had been thinking of investing in a few high quality room humidifiers, but I realized that I would be caught in a time-consuming cycle of filling and cleaning and that my pets would likely never get the best situation, since I would probably not leave them on while I was gone all day at work. So, I called and spoke to owner, Mike, and he spent some time explaining to me the ins and outs of automatic humidification systems. He explained that on the unit they recommend, the Aprilaire 600a, there are two choices as to how it will run. You can set it so that it turns on anytime the furnace is blowing, or you can set it up to run independently of the furnace, with its own humidistat determining when it should turn on and off, based on your true humidity level. He explained in a very detailed way that some people (people who tend to be cold by nature) find that they don?t like it when you set it up to run independently because it means that unheated air is sometimes blowing out your heat registers. He said that if I found out that I did not like that feature, I could call them after installation and they would make the alteration free of charge. He also spent a bit of time explaining that their price includes a five year warranty, which includes a yearly service for the first five years. I said I would opt to include that warranty, since we really would want someone coming in for the annual maintenance. Mike said that they would call me in a few days when they could fit the job in. He said that he had seen my system recently, so he didn?t think he needed to come out and take a look at it. I said that I was really interested to move quickly. He actually called me a few days later on Friday night to let me know that his technicians could come out on Saturday, which was awesome for me, since I didn?t have to rearrange my work schedule. The workers actually showed up during our first Toledo snowstorm. I was pretty impressed that they were even out working on a day like that. Scott and Brendan (I hope I have their names right!), were extremely good natured, professional and pleasant. They made every effort to close the door, to keep the pets in, and to brush the snow off of their shoes. I wish that every company had such conscientious workers. Upon arriving at the house, the workers were a little surprised to discover that our basement drain was not in an expected location for the job. Undaunted, they called Mike, who said that they would include a pump and piping at no extra charge, since he didn?t factor that in to his quote. That was really above and beyond! I was totally prepared to pay for the extra part, since I understood that our old house is sometimes difficult to deal with. Nonetheless, they took care of it for me, and kept me at the original quoted price, despite the extra parts and labor. If that weren?t enough, they were in for another surprise. My husband and I were doing laundry and our sink managed to clog in a MAJOR way right while the guys were working. This meant that it over-flowed all over the floor in the room where they were working. We immediately started to get on the phone with our plumber. However, the guys just said that they would take care of it. They managed to unclog the drain for us so that they could continue working. They also provided us with a little instruction in how we could prevent problems in the future. Again, they went above and beyond the scope of their work in order to fix an unexpected problem. Really amazing! In all, the job took a few hours. It is now about an hour after the install was complete. I can already feel a huge difference in the quality of the air in the house. My skin and sinuses already feel better. My independent hygrometer has already registered a humidity increase from 13% to 30% in the upstairs bedroom, and it looks like it will continue to climb. I LOOOOVE my humidifier and I completely recommend Action Heating. I definitely plan to use them in the future. You can feel very good about the quality and professionalism of this company.

Terry thoroughly inspected the furnace and advised me on the importance of regularly changing the filters because I have my dryer and cat litter boxes in the same room. The filters will help keep the furnace a little cleaner. He then cleaned the furnace, in some cases removing parts, inspecting, then cleaning them. And all the while he kept me informed as to what he was doing and why.

I had the opportunity to do business with Terry and Mike several times over the last few years. They're always punctual and very professional in everything they do, which I really appreciate. Although their prices aren't the lowest it seems to hold true that you get what you pay for, especially with service providers. I asked Terry about their price on my furnace repair and he talked to me about the training and continuing education they go through and provide to their employees to keep their skills sharp and their quality standards high so it made a lot of sense to me. I'm not really interested in doing business with a company that can't even invest in their training and quality equipment just to save a couple bucks. Anyway, my furnace is great now and I'm sure I'll be all set for the winter. I'll definitely be calling Action for all my heating and air conditioning needs in the future.

I called Action after finding them on Angie's List and I wasn't disappointed. Terry was out to look at my boiler the same day I called. He said he would fix it if I wanted, but he recommended replacing it. My husband and I bit the bullet, and a week or so later, two Action technicians came out to install it. They were here on a Friday, then came back and finished up on a Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon, we discovered a leak, so we called Action and they sent Scott back out on a Saturday night to fix it. This company is the best example I've seen of excellent customer service, ever. They were courteous, professional, and knowledgeable, and their prices were reasonable, too. It didn't go too well. They were suppose to do a tuneup check on 3 of our furnaces. One of them went to check my first furnace and said "There's nothing I can do with this thing." So they did nothing at all. He checked on my other furnace for about 20 minutes and he said everything was fine and then left and checked the last one for about a minute. A few days later one of the furnaces broke and then a week after that a second furnace broke. The first one that broke, it was his fault because he didn't reconnect a wire properly so eh came back and fixed it for free, and the other one he wasn't sure about so he ordered a part and fixed it for free. So he did everythign right eventually but it should have been done right the first time.

It is unfortunate when a furnace, air conditioner, or water heater stops working after being serviced. We would all like to think that preventive maintenance would stop any kind of failure from occurring, and it often does. Yet mechanical things are fallible. When we service a furnace we clean burners, sensors, motor vents, and drains. We perform diagnostics that tell us how the furnace is functioning at that time. We visually inspect and listen to how it is operating. We look for any signs of trouble and potential failure. Our goal is to prevent, solve, and improve. I'm glad I can say that the vast majority of equipment we service continues to operate reliably, and without failure. I wish I could say that there is never failure but that would not be true, nor is it practical to expect. We simply cannot always accurately predict when failure will occur. This report is an example of what I'm saying in two ways. In the first example you mention there was human cause that contributed to failure. In the process of cleaning I needed to remove the sensors. When reinstalling them one of the connectors loosened up enough that within several days the normal vibration in the furnace caused the connector to slip off the sensor and the furnace stopped working. Even though I visually inspected and operated the furnace before leaving the house I did not see that the connection was loose. This is a very rare occurrence and always regrettable. The second example is totally mechanical cause and provides a proof to what I mentioned about the impossibility of perfect prediction. That furnace is less than 2 years old. After performing all the normal maintenance and diagnostics I had no indication and saw no signs of pending failure. The part that failed was the pressure switch. Visual inspection showed absolutely no sign as to why it failed. It simply failed. The timing as it coincides with the recent maintenance is irrelevant. I could not have known it was going to fail a week later. I'm glad to have the opportunity to explain these things so that others can see a couple examples of situations we deal with. I'm also glad you called us and allowed us to solve both of these problems. Our warranty is that we come back at no cost for labor to repair any furnace we've serviced within a year. And our response time is very fast. In these examples I was at the first one in 30 minutes after your call in, and the second one within an hour or so. I would also like to point out that due to the fact you had the unfortunate experience of 2 problems within a short period of time I decided to take care of replacing the pressure switch at no cost as well. Although I had no responsibility for the part going bad this was my way of showing you our commitment to customer satisfaction. And I believe in the end you were satisfied because just this past week you called for service on a fourth property you own. And that furnace had drains that were almost completely plugged causing the furnace to operate improperly. I cleaned them and removed all the debris that was causing the blockage. I was also able to show you the debris which I think really opened your eyes to the importance of the annual maintenance. So, thank you for your continued business and confidence. He advised he couldn't clean & check furnace because I have a Lennox Pulse furnace. He recommended Pugh Heating who is also on Angie's list and he would let Angie's list know that he couldn't do the job for to get my return from Angie's list.

It was really good. He was pretty prompt. He answered all my questions. He explained everything that he had done pretty thoroughly. Overall, it went really well.

Terry was on time and, as usual, professional and efficient. They replaced my boiler a few years ago, it was the day before Thanksgiving, so it was a very stressful time for me. Everyone that works there are kind, courteous, hard working and really knows their stuff! I was so impressed! I highly recommend them.
