Action Heating & Air Conditioning & Electrical

I have an old AC unit that still uses Freon. The Freon level was low which indicates a probable leak. Mike gave me three options: refill the Freon and hope for the best, try to find the leak which would involve the cost of the Freon and whatever repairs would be discovered, or replace the unit. Although he quoted me a very attractive price for a new unit, I chose to recharge the Freon level and cross my fingers that it will make through this summer. I will replace the AC next season and will most likely have Action do the work. Mike is very professional and pleasant. He explained everything in terms I could understand.

It went well. The AC has worked fine since the repair.

We called action Heating for an estimate for a new furnace. The owner was very professional and informative. He educated us on the best choice of a furnace we need, and answered all our questions in a very satisfactory manner. The only reason we didn't go with them was that a competeitor offered us a better price on a very similar furnace. Otherwise, I would have highly recommended them for their professionalism and knowledge about their field.

Mike arrived on time, and was an extremely pleasant and helpful contractor. He went about his work promptly carrying out the tests that were promised in the $69 deal. We were more than impressed by the service and the standard that Mike set for his Company: Action Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical. They will be top of our list the next time we need any services like this.

Overal went well. Very polite professional on time and Action will conntinue to monitor the leak to make sure the leak is fixed. A number of service providers tried to fix the leak without success. It appears Action fixed the problem.

They were great. He called me and he was very sick so we rescheduled, it was on the 10th that’s when they came out. I didn’t have anything done, dehumidifier needed something but I didn’t purchase, not at this time, I mean I would love to, but I can’t at this time. I probably call them when I’m ready. He was very informative, he told me what he was looking at and different things that they do. I like that, I like to know and learn about stuff. I’m going by what they told me for the dehumidifier. The price was great that’s why I got through Angie’s List LLC; you can get deals through the mail for $79 for what they did so $49 was great. As far as they quoted me for the dehumidifier, I don’t know because I have not research that yet.

I think generally this company probably does decent work. I think I just caught them on an off day. And I will give them the benefit of the doubt with how they handle our service call because of the very low temperatures we were experiencing at that time. Here is a list of problems I had: 1) We had an appointment at 9 or 10 and the provider called at 6:30am (I didn't receive the call- I wasn't awake yet) and said that I needed to call right away in order to keep the appointment. 2) He was here for all of ten minutes and was slightly unprofessional, bordering on rude. He tossed the old dusty filter on the floor and said it needed replaced. I am thankful that he accommodated us that day and our furnace was able to be checked, but I was not thrilled with the thoroughness or professionalism.

dWhen we first contacted Action, we got a receptionist who took our message. Almost immediately afterward, we received a call back from co-owner Michael. We then scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Michael himself came to our home to give us an estimate on the new furnace. He was very thorough and seemed very genuine and down to earth. He walked us through everything we would need and answered all of our questions. He was straightforward about all the units available and walked us through the pros and cons of each and made his own recommendations on what we should do in order to get the most out of the new furnace we chose. We do not know much about HVAC and I suppose it's fairly obvious that he knew that, however, in no way did Action every try to take advantage of this fact. Some contractors do, but we decided to go with Action because of how honest and helpful Michael was. We scheduled the install for one week later. A man named Scott came to install our new furnace. Scott was also very nice and seemed like a nice guy. Because of unforseen circumstances, Scott was the only one who was there to install our furnace that day. They usually have two people do an install for the size furnace that we bought. Even without help, he knew exactly what he was doing and did it very quickly. He explained everything he was doing and encouraged us to ask questions. He even noticed that our sump pump was not working properly (not only did he recommend someone to fix it, but he also fixed it temporarily until we could get it replaced). The following day, Scott and another employee came out to finish our install. Once they were done, they showed us exactly how to use it and how to maintain it. They said we could call anytime if we had questions or problems. There was really only one minor hiccup from the whole experience that is worth mentioning. Once the install was completed, our gas hot water heater was not lit anymore. Sometimes this happens when gas furnaces are installed along the same gas line. I could not get it re-lit myself, so I called Michael. He apologized for the error and immediately sent someone out to help me get it re-lit. Overall, Action Heating and AC did a great job. They are prompt and do quality work. I recommend dealing with Michael. He is very helpful and returns phone calls almost immediately. I will definitely be using them to install an air conditioner in the near future.

They were great, really nice to deal with. They came back to check on the work to make sure everything was fine. Really good guys. Another company told us we needed a new furnace and when I had Action come out they told me it would last a long time as long as it was serviced properly and that it wasn't as old as the other company told me.

They were very thorough in their inspection and knowledgeable, I would use them in the future if I have an issue with my water heater.

Everything would have gone well except for a slight miscommunication. Terry confirmed with me that I did not have a Lenox Pulse furnace which I guess has some proprietary tools required. He informed me that since ours was a Lenox Elite that there wouldn't be any issues. Unfortunately, when Terry got to my house, he looked at the furnace and realized that it was a Lenox electric, and not gas. He then informed me that he does not do work on Lenox's that were not installed by Action. No harm, no foul. He refused profusely and told me exactly who I need to call over at Pugh. Terry did not charge me for the visit which obviously cost him time, and for that, Im most grateful.

Very responsive. Great turn around time. Provided installation/service in the same day. I only used because of their rating on Angie's list. I was not disappointed. Also rec'd A.L. discount.

Purchased the deal through Angies List. It took a couple days longer than expected until we heard back from the vendor to schedule the appointment. Past that point, everything was very easy. Service was very friendly and helpful, answering related questions to our heating and hot water furnace without trying to take advantage of the customer. Also, inspected some noise we recently had in our heat ventilation system while on site at no extra charge. Great overall experience!

The guy who came out did a good job but the special light on the furnace that is an attachment that is supposed to kill bacteria and stuff, he said that they were out of that and that it should be in in a couple of weeks and I have never heard back from him since. And it is really hard to get all the people over there because they just have somebody that answers the phone and then they have to have one of the guys call you back. So, I am not happy about that part but the part where the man did the work was good. It also took a long time for him to come out too because it was not an emergency. It was just like the annual checkup. The service was fine and he came when he said that he would but I think that it was almost a couple of months from the time that I bought the coupon that he came out and like I said, I never heard back about the light and it has been quite a while already. I am not sure if I would hire them again in the future but maybe I would. I have to think about it.

We had Action Heading & Cooling come out to perform a furnace inspection and cleaning. It was originally scheduled for a Monday that we were supposed to get a lot of snow. They called ahead of time and rescheduled the appointment for a later time instead of just not showing up. They arrived on time to the rescheduled appointment and performed the inspection and cleaning. They informed us that our furnace was in good shape and of the work they performed on it. This is the second time that we have used Action Heating, and we have a very high degree of trust in them.

Given the polar temps we're experiencing this winter, dh and I decided we did not want to play Russian roulette with our 19 year old HVAC system. After reading Action Heating's great reviews here on Angie's List, we contacted them for an estimate. Mike Williams arrived at the house this past Tuesday (Jan. 21) morning. He quickly assessed our heating/cooling needs, sat down at the kitchen table with me, and offered several options from which we could choose. Straight talk, easy-to-understand language, no gimmicks. Before leaving, Mike kindly gave me his personal cell phone number in case we had any questions. Dh came home from work (he was not present during the estimate) & called Mike, who patiently explained everything he had told me earlier regarding our HVAC needs. By early evening, we had booked an install date for Tuesday, January 29. (As a side note, I am scheduled for surgery on Friday, Jan. 31st, and really wanted to have the job finished before then.) Upon waking up the next morning Wednesday (Jan. 22) morning, I listened to the weather forecast. More terribly frigid temps and blowing/drifting snow. I am a worrier by nature, and feared that something might happen to prevent our system from being installed on the expected date. I picked up the phone and called Mike to ask if there was any way (considering my upcoming operation) they could do the work sooner. To make a very long story short, by going far above and beyond the call of duty, Mike arranged for our new furnace to be installed YESTERDAY. As in -- TWO days after he walked in our home and gave us the initial estimate! Wow. Just wow. I am humbled at the kindness and compassion that has been shown to our family. Action Heating and Cooling is NOT just a business. They are trusted friends. They truly care about you and your needs, and strive to provide a level of service that is beyond amazing. Most sincere, heartfelt thanks goes out to Mike, Scott & helper (our installers), and all others who worked together to make this happen. Wish I had better words to express the level of gratitude I am feeling.....

They tore out the old one and put in the new one, I mean how hard was it?
