See above. It went great!!
Description of Work: Action responded promptly to a problem we had with an electrical connection to our oven and stove. After further investigation they discovered some unsafe electrical conditions and components. They were able within a day to replace my entire service coming into our home which has given my wife and I great peace of mind.

I sincerely apologize to you. After searching our call records I cannot find evidence of your call. Our company received 1,500 requests for service in the month of september. I cannot explain why you were not contacted if you called. We have an excellent system in place that works very well. Our policy is that anyone who requests service is contacted very quickly. (member name removed), It definitely took some effort for me to remember this situation that occurred almost 10 months ago, especially with no details in the review. But after spending the week racking my brain I was finally able to remember what took place. Your husband had called in for an estimate at you rental property on Stasburg road. We spoke on October 6, 2012. We scheduled the estimate for Monday October 8, 2012 between 4pm-5pm. I was at the rental property during that time frame. The renter informed me that you were there on Sunday, October 7 waiting for me. I explained to her that our appointment was Monday, not Sunday. I then called you to find out what happened and you said that the last thing I said to your husband when I was on the phone Saturday was that I would "see him tommorow", which would have been Sunday. I replied to you by explaining that we clearly set the appointment for Monday and the time was based upon his work schedule. You acknowledged that to be true but said that because I stated "see you tomorrow" you thought I ment Sunday. I immediately apologized and told you that I certainly didn't remember saying that and was sorry if I did. I offered to reschedule for any other day and time convenient for you. I also told you I would be more than happy to provide you discounted pricing on new furnace and air conditioning to help compensate you for the extra trip into town cause you were coming from a slight distance away. As I recall you refused my offer and said you were going to just cancel for now. I again apologized and reiterated my offer if you changed your mind. I accepted full responsibility even though I certainly didn't remember closing the conversation with your husband that way. My only observations at this point are that if there was confusion on your end you could have called me back for confirmation. Also, Sunday would be an unusual day to schedule an estimate unless specifically requested. Finally, once we talked on Monday I certainly tried to make things right with you. Additionally, your review was provoked 10 months later because you were solicited via phone by AngiesList, and it wasn't until then that you expressed your views. This is a practice of AngiesList that we don't appreciate or agree with because we believe if a consumer is truly unhappy with any of our services they should be motivated on their own to actually write a report, not record it via phone many months after the fact. These types of delayed and provoked reports require exeptional work on our end to recall, and respond appropriately. As our records prove, we care very much what our customers and prospective customers think about our company. We strive every day to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. Description of Work: Action was here twice. First service call was for Blower Motor on furnace and Hot water Tank replacement. While installing the Blower Motor the Control Board was damaged. The second service call was to install a new Furnace. Mike was very helpful at all times. I had two different technicians working at the house. One may have been an apprentice, On the first visit the hot water tank was removed, the connection would not turn off all the way and water dripped all around the floor and wall. His boss arrived and finished the job. When installing the new furnace they did a great job clean and quick. But that night the safety switch on the furnace went bad and I woke up with no heat. Called Mike, he sent his team out right away and I had heat. Within the week they had the new switch installed. My overall experience with Action was good. Mike and his team are very contiguous and care about their customers.

Unfortunately, mechanical things sometimes fail, water valves don't always close completely and every blue moon or so when we take something apart it doesn't work right when we put it back together. Description of Work: Mike and his team at Action truly understand the meaning of customer service. They have replaced both systems in a home we have in Toledo and more than that when I've needed a service call they have been incredibly responsive. The most recent occurence was that the home had lost its heat and some other electrical power. Mike sent out their electrician who quickly identified the problem. A neighbor had cut down a tree which fell on the powerlines to our house and others. After informing me of the situation they made sure that the proper parties were contacted and that Toledo Edison showed up and corrected things. I have a elderly mother in the house who is in hospice care and needed to have heat in the home. Following throught to make sure that all was taken care of is not really their job but a wonderful example of going above and beyond. Certainly beyond any expectation that anyone would have they did not charge me anything for the call and their trouble. I would not consider ever calling anyone else for any AC or Heating needs. Thanks Action for your great service

Description of Work: Terry called ahead to confirm he would be keeping the original appointment as scheduled. He arrived on time, covered his shoes, and proceeded to inspect and clean the furnace. Terry was efficient, informative, and friendly. Terry even made a few suggestions to make my furnace run more efficiently. He found no problems, (and he didn't invent any either!). I felt comfortable with Terry in my home. Thank you for a positive service call.

Description of Work: Way back in 2003 our furnace went out. Later on the same day our new furnace was delivered. They were awesome and the heating and air still work great today. PS, I do not remember what the price actually was.

Description of Work: I called the Company for an estimate - representative came out took about two (2) minutes to look at my present furnace and said he would go back and work up an estimate and get back to me in a couple of days. After two (2) weeks, not hearing back from him, I called and he told me he had sent the estimate out and I asked that he resend it when he got back to the office. He called later and said he had slipped up and he had not sent it out, he did not know why. I asked him again to send me one for comparison purposes, although I would have reservations about doing busuness if he could not even get out an estimate! He came to my house a couple of days later and gave me a gift certificate for Mancy's and again apologized. I again asked for an estimate he said he would. One (1) week went by still no estimate so I went to the Company site and sent an Email again asking for an estimate or a response as too giving me an estimate. As of this date (01/26/2010) I have gotten NO ESTIMATE & NO REPLY OF ANY KIND. I cannot guess why this company has the ratings it has, maybe people would rather have a Mancy's gift certificate than what they asked for AN ESTIMATE!!!!! My furnace still works but it is getting into it's full life and a gift certificate is not going to keep me warm should it fail!

The only explanation that I have is that December 2009 was the busiest December we have ever had, It seemed many people were in a rush to purchase a high efficiency furnace due to the $1500 tax credit. When the consumer called I told him I had mailed his proposal out and he said he hadn't received it. In checking my records I found he was correct and immediately called him and offered to come over and deliver it in person, He told me that he wouldn't consider buying from us. I was angry at myself for dropping the ball on this customer and purchased a gift certificate from Mancy's and dropped it off with my apologies. They say even monkeys fall out off tree's sometimes, in this case we did and I'm truly regretful.

Description of Work: Installation of a new furnace and air conditioner at my office. (More recently they also installed electrical outlets in the ceiling of the office for a power point projector-don't forget they do electrical!) In the past they have installed central air in my home of radiators (no ducts), a furnace in a rental property, and done numerous repair and cleaning jobs. One thing I really appreciate about them is that they will tell you when they are NOT the best company for the job and connect you with someone who is good at that particular thing. I've learned in my own business, although it is hard to say "no thank you, you need someone else," it is the kindest and most professional thing you can do for someone-and then help them find the right person. That is also what Mike and Terry do.
