+ 0 moreI had a meeting with Mr. Horst, the owner, for the estimate, he showed me various models and features of each, including if they would be noisy and the various energy efficiency ratings etc. We agreed upon the price and later that day he called to give the me the schedule of when they would be out to do the installation, I meet with him on a Friday the installation was scheduled for a week later on Monday(10 days later) it would take two days for the installation. The company called the day before the scheduled start date and said they would be there between 8 am and 8:30 am. They showed up right on time. The first day they removed the old system and started installing the new system, while that was going on the duct cleaning crew showed up and cleaned the ducts, everyone was friendley and was careful not to leave a mess, cleaned up after themselves. The installation crew left around 4pm, they cleaned up everything in the house and said they would be back the next morning. The next morning they showed up and finished the job by noon. House is nice and cool, they went over the programable thermostat, all old items were removed and the house was back to its original state as when they came. A few days later the owner called to follow up if there were any questions and offered to come out to go over the programming of the thermostat, not necessary, all is great. I will definatley use and recommend the company again.

+ -1 moreDuring routine maintenance, with another company I was told I needed a $1400 repair. I called overcashier for a second opinion. During the second opinion, it was found that the motor was not cracked, and did not need to be replaced and I only needed a gasket seal fixed . $96 later, all was well. The technician spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem and then after the repair, making sure that all was well. He did tell me that given the age of the furnace, that the motor may fail in the relatively near future, and gave me a quote ($300 below the 1st company). When I asked if it would be better to get a new furnace he told me that I had many years left in the furnace and not to waste the money. It's good to find someone who does the right thing and tries to save the customer money

water heater repair
+ -1 moreThey were a little slow in getting back to us but they explained that it was a busy time of the year. They were nice and got us back together. They actually had to make two runs because of the way our hot water heater was set up by the original owners. There were some communication problems. The communication from the dispatcher didn't have enough information and didn't point out that it was a different style hot water heater. It was a busy time of the year but it is an emergency when your hot water heater goes.

+ -1 moreOur existing Air Conditioner was very old, circa 1982, so when it got very hot this year it began to struggle. We got several quotes from different companies and settled on Overcashier and Horst. The installer showed up promptly at 8:00am to begin the installation, worked throughout the day until he was finished at about 2pm. He was very professional, friendly, and had the answers to all my questions. The installation went very smoothly and the work was very well done, and the new AC has worked beautifully since it was installed. A follow up call was supposed to be scheduled, however it never was. But we called Overcashier to inquire, and someone was out to do the follow up the same day. So overall I'm very pleased with them and would happily recommend them to friends and family.
Description of Work: Removed an existing central air conditioner and replaced it with a brand new unit.

I would suggest getting a maintainance agreement with this or any other heating and a/c company as these units are not cheap and the best way to get the most for your money is yearly maintainance. You must also take into consideration the "safety factor" of having a furnace checked annually, you can't put a price on a life!
Description of Work: We purchased our a/c & furnace back in 1996 from Overcashier & Horst and have been dealing with them ever since for regular maintainance & a few minor age related problems. We have nothing but GREAT things to say about this company & we've had our units for over 15 years now! I did my research after seeing & talking to this company at a home show at the Seagate Center many years back and although they may not have been be the cheapest or the most expensive of our estimates, in our opinion, they've been the best! Many years ago, my mom's older furnace's pilot light blew out during a very bad coldspell so I told her to call Overcashier & Horst. They told her that they were swamped & couldn't get out there til the next day so she was just going to stay with us. She called me back to tell me that a technician called her & told her his conscience would not allow him to sleep that nite knowing that an 80 year old woman was at home with no heat & he came and repaired her old furnace. She made the decision right then & there to buy her new furnace from Overcashier & Horst! The most recent problem we had with our a/c unit was the nite we returned home from our vacation. It was so hot inside our house from being all closed up for a week and when I went to turn on the a/c, it wouldn"t come on. I called OC & they told me they'd be out at 9am the following morning to have a look at it. The technician arrived on time, was courteous as they always are & fixed it within minutes, (it was only a fuse). We've had such great experiences with this company that when it comes time to replace our a/c & furnace, we will DEFINATELY be calling them!!!!!

+ 0 moreDuct cleaning and A/C and furnace tune-up performed satisfactorily. Duct cleaning was performed through the vents. We later found a lot of debris in the furnace. Furnace checkup and a/c checkup turned up no problem or issues, however, less than three weeks later, a capacitor blew in our a/c unit. It was very corroded and easily replaced by my husband but I felt like it was something that should have been brought to my attention as a potential future issue during the tune-up. Also, the gentleman who came out was very young and all alone. He was also late due to an earlier appointment and I had to call in to find that out. It seems like this maybe should have been a two person job given the size of the duct cleaning device. All in all, satisfied with the service, but not overly impressed. to the point of serious recommendation.

Description of Work: Furnace went out...they came and fixed it but this is just one time. They are the only HVAC that I go to now since I trust them. They are very efficient and do an excellent job.

We kept going back and forth between them and another company. They really reduced their price and gave us the product that we wanted at an unbeatable cost.
Description of Work: We bought a new furnace, a special kind of light for allergens, and also got our air ducts cleaned. They put all of this together for a compensation package.

They came out on the same day, tried to fix it, but explained that it had already exceeded it's life span and it wasn't worth repairing. They were very booked due to the hot weather, but were able to squeeze us in on a Sunday. (we still had to wait 4 days to get it installed). They were very professional and did a great job.

+ -1 moreO & H made 3 separate calls to make repairs on our furnace. The repair incidents did not occur all at once but rather over a 3 month time span. Each time the repair did not exceed the estimate for the new parts.
Description of Work: O & H installed the original heating and a/c plants in all 32 condo units built in our community. They know the area and the condos quite well. In early 2009, our furnace, now 10 years old, had to have a circuit board, starter module and infuser motor replaced. O & H was responsive and professional. Some of the service costs were absorbed through the service contract we signed in late 2008. The cost of that contract was approx. $300.00 and it covers inspections and service calls (less parts, of course) for one year. The last time out to replace the infuser motor they also inspected the air conditioner at no extra cost.
