+ -1 moreTHE NEXT DAY, I NOTICED THAT WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED, IT APPEARED TO BE UNEVEN AT THE BOTTOM AGAINST THE PAVEMENT. I CALLED THEM BACK AND THEY CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY AND ADJUSTED IT. THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE PAVEMENT, NOT THE INSTALLATION, BUT THEY WERE ABLE TO CORRECT IT ANYWAY WITH NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
Description of Work: INSTALLED A NEW GARAGE DOOR AND REPAIRED EXISTING GARAGE DOOR OPENER.

Description of Work: MY VERY OLD GARAGE DOOR OPENER WAS NOT WORKING. I HIRED A COMPANY I FOUND IN THE PHONE BOOK TO COME OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THAT OTHER COMPANY ''FIXED'' THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME NOT ONLY THAT MY OPENER IS ON ITS LAST BREATH, I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRACK SYSTEM. THEY WANTED $2000 TO DO THE JOB. THE AFTERNOON AFTER THAT OTHER COMPANY ''FIXED'' MY DOOR, IT STOPPED WORKING. I LOOKED IN ANGIE''S LIST AND CALLED SANFORD & SON. THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL AND HONEST. IT TURNED OUT THAT THAT OTHER COMPANY DID NOT REALLY COMPLETELY FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAD LEFT A PART OUT OF THE OPENER. SANFORD & SON FIXED THE PROBLEM AND INFORMED ME THAT MY OPENER IS VERY OLD AND MAY NOT LAST LONG, BUT I DO NOT NEED TO REPLACE IT UNTIL IT COMPLETELY DIES. THEY INDICATED THAT THE OPENER IS THE ONLY THING THAT''S WRONG WITH MY GARAGE DOOR AND GAVE ME A REASONABLE ESTIMATE ($300) TO REPLACE IT. I WILL HIRE SANFORD & SON THE NEXT TIME MY OPENER STOPS WORKING.

THE REPAIRMAN ALSO TIGHTENED ALL THE BOLTS ON THE DOOR. I MADE THE REPAIR CALL IN THE MORNING AND MY DOORS WERE FIXED BY THAT AFTERNOON. THAT IS GREAT SERVICE!

SINCE THEY WERE ON THE PHONE, WE TOLD THEM TO COME OUT (WE''D THOUGHT WE COULD JUST REPLACE ONE, BUT IF WE NEEDED BOTH, IT''D BE ABOUT $145 -- UNFORTUNATELY, WE NEGLECTED TO ASK). WHEN HE ARRIVED, HE SAID WE SHOULD REPLACE BOTH, AS THE OTHER WOULD BREAK IN A FEW MONTHS -- $175 FOR BOTH. I WAS UPSET THAT HE WAITED UNTIL HE WAS ON MY DOORSTEP TO INFORM ME OF THAT. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOLD HIM I HAD 2 OTHER ESTIMATES FOR $145, HE DID DROP HIS PRICE TO $155. SINCE HE WAS ALREADY HERE AND I''D PROBABLY BE CHARGED A SERVICE CALL, I HAD HIM GO AHEAD. HE WAS VERY POLITE AND GOT THE JOB DONE (THOUGH IT CREAKS A LOT).
