Closets By Design

They did very nice work and it was reasonably priced. I was satisfied and would use them again.

It went fairly well. The installer was very good.

Right from the initial consultation with Gen Potts I decided to proceed and get the closet done. Gen was extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and helped me design a closet that works just great for us. The gentleman that installed the closet was also extremely friendly, professional, and created a closet we absolutely love. He even vacuumed the area and left it spotless. I was thrilled!

Was able to get estimate quickly; designer arrived at the agreed upon time and spent 3+ hours designing the closets; she wasn't pushy (trying to make a sale) and was in no hurry. Was able to schedule install the following week. Installer arrived on time, made minimal mess (and cleaned up what mess he made). Took the good part of 1 day to complete the install.

We are very satisfied with this whole procedure from start to finish. The finished product is top quality. I suspect we will use Closets by Design again in the future.

The man doing the work showed up on time. However, after a short time he told me the shelves had been cut wrong and he had to get different ones. Those arrived later(I think). Then there was a problem with the bike rack(wrong one)and again he called and they brought the correct one. Then there was a problem with the one of the ladder racks that they couldn't correct at that time. They wanted me to pay for the balance on the install and I initially refused since the work was not finished(it was a $540 balance). I finally agreed to short pay $75 for the missing ladder rack. Someone called me about a week later and asked if I was ready for them to install the bike rack. I told them the bike rack was already installed, it was the ladder rack that was a problem. They said they would look into it. The work was done on 11/5 and I haven't heard back from them since. I probably should have refused to pay any of the balance due and I would have had better luck getting the job completed. I have since installed the missing ladder racks, so have no further need for their service. I was disappointed in the disorganization of the whole job. It took from around 9:30 in the morning until 3 or 4 in the afternoon to install two cabinets, two shelves, a bike rack and two ladder racks. I would think a job like that should take a couple of hours at the most.

We have tripled our storage space now. They have very good materials and excellent selection. They were completed in less than a day. They were accurate in the fabrication and they worked with us very well. Janet was exceptional.

They took their time measuring everything. They showed up on time to do all the work. They cleaned up everything when they were done working. They called us when they were on their way over to our house.

They offered a coupon in the Angie's List booklet which took 50% off. This was a huge project and I saved a lot! This is the best deal out there. The designer, her name was Laurie Miles; she designed exactly what I was thinking. We do not have a coat closet so I brought up a few ides and the design was exactly on point. She also designed a basic coat closet and designed a closet for each of my children. She was able to custom design the shelving and extra shelving to accommodate everything to get it off the floor and it looks really good! The company has a large selection of textures and colors; Choices that you can pick from. We were able to pick something that was close to the wood grains and colors already in each room in our home. My husband got a built in desk and built in shelving. The desk top was really nice and they had many selections to choose from. Laurie custom designed my new home office. All of the stuff we did is going to be good for the re-sell value of our home.

Everything so far has been great. They have gotten back to me quickly.

We called Closet by Design and Laurie came out gave us suggestions and drew up plans. We were very impressed with her designs and decided to have the work done as soon as we had the closets cleaned and painted. When we were ready to install we called, they set up a date came out and installed. The installer was very precise and did an excellent job.

I'm very happy with how it looks. I work from my home 3 days a week, so I use it a lot. The designer, Janet Otten was great. I couldn't have done it without her. She took into account all my needs and desires. The installer, Kevin was very careful. (And he even gave me upgraded drawer fronts at no extra charge.)

My designer was perfect. Janet Otten was very patient. Made sure I had plenty of room for now an additional shopping. Cleaned up very well. The installer asked be for he left to make sure all my needs were met.

They did a nice job, very professional, cleaned up their mess.

The designer was an excellent "listener", measured carefully, observed contents, and then, while still at my house, drew a perfect design for all three closets. She was very personable, and in fact, asked me if I was a member of Angie's List and if so, I would get a 50% discount!!! I certainly was a member of Angie's List and appreciated greatly that she asked, otherwise, I wouldn't have known. The estimate was about average with the other two estimates but I was impressed by the quality of their materials. She scheduled the installation in a timely fashion. The installer was on time, efficient, personable, and asked me to inspect each closet as he finished to be sure it was the way I wanted it. Also, he was pleased that I restocked each closet as he finished it so that he knew for sure that I would be satisfied. When I discovered that I needed one more short shelf in one closet, he willingly created one with the materials in his truck. I couldn't be happier with the results.

First, the design wasn't functional. The first designer and I designed it, but when it was put in, it didn't work. So Kevin, the head production guy, came out and he agreed and knew why it didn't work. So he redesigned it and reorder all the material -- desk top, bookshelves and had it all reinstalled. It came out great!

She was high pressuring. She wanted me to put a deposit down right then and there. I let her know that I was going to check with Angie's List. She wanted me to make a decision on the spot and go with them. They claimed to give 50% off, which made me question their starting price. I ended up choosing another company.

We received estimates from three different companies. The woman that came was very professional, pleasant, and experienced. We actually liked the products of this company the best, however, because their system goes to the floor we would have needed to delay the project because of new flooring that was going to go into the closet. Their estimated installation date was also three weeks out, whereas the other companies could do the install within one week.

Had two companies come out and give us estimates and Closets by Design gave a much better presentation and we felt had a better product. We altered the initial design and they worked with us 'til we were satisfied. They had some time constraints on the installation, but still found a way to fit us in when we needed it to be done. The quality of the work was very good. We are extremely happy with the experience and final product.

I was very happy with the entire process. Laurie Miles, the designer, was very pleasant and professional. The work was completed in a timely fashion, and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I never imagined I had so much space in that closet.

They never returned even my message to come out for a consultation. Not professional.

The initial consult is longer than I like, but Laurie is very detail oriented. The work product is great and the price is very competitive. Their product looks superior to the other closet choices available. The installation went well. We have had them back to work on the pantry.

Our salesperson/designer (Joan Adcock) was kindof clueless. We ended up correcting her design work for her because she kept making crazy mistakes. Our 2hr consultation, therefore, ended up lasting 4 hrs! The installer was fine. He corrected the things that I didn't like (marred/crooked base moulding). The problem was that the company didn't send him enough materials to finish the crown moulding job, but when I said I wasn't going to pay until it was all taken care of, he did what he had to to finish that evening (made some phone calls, stayed later). He also left us the leftover moulding so that we can make base moulding next to the shelving unit match. The entire installation took about 5 hrs. I love the shelving! Quality work. I would rate the overall experience A-/B+ (lower marks only because of the initial consultation taking soooo long due to mistakes and not initially having all the required materials).

The designer was personable and very knowledgeable. Measured each closet, discussed options. Came back in 2 weeks with design and explained designs, made only a minor change. The installers were great also! Extremely professional and neat. Let no mess. Would use company again.

WE HAD A DISPUTE ON WHAT WORK WAS TO BE DONE, AND IT TOOK US MONTHS TO GET OUR MONEY BACK. THEY MESSED UP OUR WALLS, AND I HAD TO PATCH THEM.
