Flemings Lawn and Tree Service

I had a large limb come down on my deck causing major damage to the deck and yard. All of the trees in the back yard are over 100 years old. They removed the remaining portion of the limb from the tree, cleaned up the debris and trimmed the dead limbs from the remaining trees w/o adding to the cost. They were very prompt with the estimate , gave a written estimate before leaving, and scheduled the service in a timely manner.

I wish I had called Roger first, before my other tree-service company. I wanted to enlarge my garden, and the previous company had left tree roots that made it impossible. Fleming's removed the tree roots, and hauled in dirt and rototilled so I could enlarge my vegetable garden. They also provided weekly mowing, and I was very pleased with their work.

Everything went great. I used them twice for tree removal, and they had top notch service. They did everything to code and they left everything nice and clean. They do very good work. I am very happy with them.

The work was beautiful, we are very pleased. They did exactly what we wanted. I have recommended them to other people. I didn't have anything that I didn't like about them. They did a beautiful job.We only had one slight problem and that was that it rained the day they did the work, and it tore up the back yard, and they came back and corrected it. The head of the company came out, because my husband complained about the back yard.

They did a wonderful job. I was so impressed when I asked him to remove the trees on the tree lawn, (they were silver maples that were never trimmed and grew like tall bushes and were raising my sidewalk,) Mr. Flemmings informed me that I don't have to spend extra money for that. Call the city and they will take care of it. Bless him, he was correct. I have more work to be done and plan on calling him just before Spring. I found him honest, courteous, competitively priced and just a pleasure to work with. The work was completed as we agreed upon.

This was the first quote I received for the removal of a large tree. First let me define "large". I had read several other reviews where people reference "large" trees. They must not have been as big as they were tall, because all of my quotes were MUCH bigger. When I say large I mean 40+ feet tall and about 5-6 feet diameter; a very old silver maple that was dying due to old age. This quote at $4050 was by far the most expensive! It included tree removal/hauling away/stump grinding I did not use their service. They did come out and quote quickly. They were professional. Just expensive.

called and received an estimate. The servers arrived on time at selected date. I started talking to the guys and they did not intend to do job as I had described during the estimate. They called their estimator who said they would charge for trimming trees as I had originally asked for. One of the men came over and apologized for the other men's rudeness. I did appreciate this gentleman, but the rest were rude. I had them leave and called another company.

Our experience with them has been excellent. They are very good people to deal with. They were prompt in coming out and giving a quote. They stuck by their quote. We didn’t use them for several weeks, and they still maintained it. They did a few extra things that were above and beyond the quote. We were very pleased with that. We had some bushes that we had said that we wanted to clear out. They said that all we have to do is cut those down and that they will grind all that stuff up and haul it away for us at no cost. They were very good with that. It was a very fair price, and we very pleased with the service. With regard to price, they were very good and very competitive. We would definitely use them again.

We received the estimate in a couple of days. Work was scheduled a few weeks later. They came a week before the actual work to pre-spray weeds. They did a very professional job on everything. I wanted a certain tree shaped in a special way - they did it just right.

The service is good. They have done all of the work I have asked of them. The lawn looks great.

Had Flemings out to do some bed work around our house. Edging was OK, but they didn't use anywhere near the "3 inches" of mulch that I was quoted. In fact, in some areas they only put a dusting of mulch over what was already there. We paid a premium price compared with other quotes and expected the job to be done correctly. When I contacted them, I was told that "they would use as much mulch as was necessary", and not the 3 inches I was quoted. Hogwash! Weed grew up within a couple of weeks and ended up raking it all out myself and starting over there were so many weeks in there. They are very local to me too and we could have had a very long business relationship.

I worked with Flemming's on a few different occasions to receive quotes for New lawn / landscape installation and tree removal services after building our house in 2012. Overall the experience was a bust as I had invested alot of time with this vendor intending to contract. However, the vendor would not guarantee my driveway would survive the topsoil deliveries and other tree services that were required as part of the job. Stating that I would need to waive my rights, if they were to bring their equipment on my property. Also the services quotes we all way to detailed and each request was an itemized addition which put my wife and I off. We instead went with another vendor with solid reviews walked thought the job and on a smaller contract and a handshake all the services were done while I was away on vacation. All in all the experience with Flemming's was tedious in comparison and too much invested time with no pay off to warrant a recommendation from me.

They showed up when they said they would and did a nice job. When I needed to leave the house, they were real good at stopping momentarily so that I could get out of the house without any danger. The guys were really professional. I liked that they were bonded, insured and had workman comp. The trees were very close to my house and neighbors houses and I felt that I needed that safety net. They did an excellent job and I was pleased with them.

Crew was prompt, polite, professional, quick and cleaned up after themselves.

Sorry I don't have any don'ts to report, just do's. Yes do call Flemings, they do a great job. Going around the house you'd see that they cut the hydrangee back, trimmed the magnolia, trimmed the lilac, trimmed the red bud tree & cut back anything close to the gutters, cut 2 lower branches off an oak tree, trimmed down spirea plants below floor of 1st deck, pruned lilac, trimmed 2 unknown shrubs/bushes below gutters, trimmed azalas around next deck, trimmed weeping cherry back ( on main deck) and trimmed more off after my request, trimmed & shaped dogwood tree, trimmed a lower branch off another oak tree, shaped & trimmed another larger bush in back of house, cut back 2 unknown vertical bushes, trimmed lilac & removed suckers, trimmed & shaped weeping cherry in th e front, trimmed & shaped dogwood tree, trimmed sweet bay magnolia (cut a bit more off on request to ensure it is below gutters) and finally trimmed/shaped dogwood tree. The list is extenisve, the crew had 3 in it. They did all the trimming and then cleaned all up. I will be calling them again next year.

The crew removed the dying maple tree carefully without any damage to the structures it shaded. They cleaned up and hauled away the wood. We also had Fleming's grind the stump out. It was done thoroughly and completely. We are so happy with the work they did and will definitely hire them in the future.

Great experience from the first call through when the service work was completed. Given the scope of the project we thought the pricing was very fair and the crew did a terrific job.We highly recommend Flemings for your tree removal needs. We will definitely consider using Flemings in the future.

As stated before, they filled in a big hole where an above ground pool was, Everyone worked together, were polite and would use them again. Job went very well. Happy camper now.

They are fine and that's why I kept them for 6 years. The office staff is excellent and very nice.

Overall I was satisfied with the work. Flemings had too many peole involved in the process and communication got crossed. We did not get exactly what we wanted. There was a mixup in where the mulch should be placed and no we have a mulched area where we did not wantt as well as the some of the ares we wnated mulch did not receive mulch.

They did a really good job especially with the clean up.

We have flower beds on 3 sides of our house as well as around our back deck. We haven't taken good care of them when it comes to weeding, so they were pretty overrun. We also hadn't really trimmed the flowers and hedges we had in the beds. We had Fleming's come out and spray the weeds, re-mulch and trim. They really did a great job! Heck, it might look better than when we first put them in a few years ago! They came out about a week and a half ago and sprayed. They came out today (Monday, May 21) and cleaned out the beds and did the mulching/trimming. It looks great! We would definitely use them again.

We personally cut down some trees and dug up a number of bushes and wanted to have the wood/branches/brush chipped up and hauled away. A number of other companies would not give us an estimate for the work and indicated that they were too expensive and the job was not worth their time. Flemings was willing to come out, provide an estimate, and do the work. They also said they would reduce the price if we stacked everything out on the tree lawn by the street. We got a very reasonable price and the work was done just as we agreed. They did a great job of taking everything away.

I have used Flemings for over 10 years, but I am new to Angie's List. While researching another type of vendor I saw Flemings, and felt obligated to write a review. Roger and his whole crew are professionals in an industry with a lot of fly-by-night operators. I've always been extremely pleased with Flemings's work. Is he the least expensive operator out there? No, but they are more than fair which is why they've been in business for years, and have earned mine. Roger has always been open to working with me on price if need be (especially on larger projects) and has offered me less expensive options/solutions where it was possible. I highly recommend their work.
