They did a great job, even noticed the original installer if the HVAC (a local company that is not good) basically slapped everything together. We had poor air flow to the second level, humidity issues, he helped us with all of that. He installed the air cleaner as they stated they would - they even took are of some warranty work/ parts when the unit failed. Good experience with a good group of HVAC professionals.

I was extremely impressed with Watkins Heating & Cooling from start to finish. They scheduled a time to give me an estimate and were on schedule. They did not pressure me to get any more system that I needed. I learned that the original A/C was undersized for our house. The estimate discussion was low key and there was no pressure. We decided to go ahead and have them install the A/C, which they were able to do schedule quickly. The installers came out and installed the new Trane A/C and the air filter system, along with building a larger platform for the A/C and modifying the duct work to enlarge the ducting and decrease the curvature to allow better airflow to the house. I was really pleased with how clean they left the work site and how courteous they were throughout the installation and in giving explanations about the system. They came out a few days after the work to make sure we were satisfied and we did not pay the final cost until we were satisfied with the system. I would highly recommend Watkins to anyone needing heating or cooling service or installation.

I've used Watkins for several years. Tried one or two others, but came back to Watkins. Everyone is professional, thorough, knowledgeable. Always maintain good communication. Our heat pump was installed in about1987,, Watkins has extended its life several times. We will need to replace it and feel certain we will have them do the work.

Watkins was on time and the representative was knowledgeable. What I always appreciate about Watkins is that per company policy, they don't sell service contracts. Other heating/AC companies we've worked with before are always trying to sell service contracts and upsell you on other features that aren't needed. The representative clearly explained what the cause was, which matched what I had suspected it was based on some internet research, and was able to answer follow-up questions. Our unit is quite old, though this was the first repair we have had. He let me know that we'll need to replace it before too long given the age, but did not pressure us to buy anything. And, the AC works just fine now.

We noticed our heat pump was running on emergency heat continuously and had called 2 other companies before calling Watkins. Both had charged for a service call but would not say what was wrong or give an estimate for repairs. They just gave us estimates for entire new systems ranging from $12,000 to $15,000. When Marty Watkins arrived he checked out the entire system , told us what was wrong and how much it would cost to repair. He made the repairs at the same trip and took care of all servicing that was needed. We really like him. He was friendly, professional and efficient. Our heat pump has been running fine ever since. We will definitely be calling Watkins and asking for Marty when we need help with our system.

We have used them off and on through the years of living here in Springboro. We have them come in to check the furnace and the water pump. My wife checked them out in your system and I also have their website. We upgraded on the water pump and the duct system. It's not a cheap system but it's the fuel efficiency of the system. They have to be compatible. So the price is a little more along with the duct work. They were instrumental in determining the insufficient air flow based on how they did the house when it was built. They were professional and thorough. They cleaned up their mess and took all of their mess. It seemed like they weren't here. I will recommend them to others.

My furnace stopped working in the middle of the night and we woke up to a fairly cold house in the morning (~55 degrees). I called Watkins at approximately 8:15am to see if they could come take a look at my furnace the same day. The person who answered the phone said they would schedule me for 1:30pm that same day, although he mentioned they could be as much as 1 hour early or 1 hour late, depending on how their morning stops went. I agreed and waited for them to arrive. Time passed and when I had not seen or heard from them by 2:30pm I called to find out when they expected to show up. I was told by the person answering the phone that they had been trying to contact me without success (apparently they wrote my phone number down wrong). I was then told that the soonest they could arrive was 6:30pm, although no explanation was provided as to why my 1:30 appointment was no longer available. They were apologetic and assured me this was not a common problem. The technician finally arrived at 6:30pm and the repair took about 20 minutes to complete. The furnace has been working fine since, so I'm happy with the repair, but the scheduling and waiting experience was not good. Also, I discovered that the hot surface ignitor part is something you can find for about $20 online, which makes me feel that the $112 cost for the part/installation is a little steep -- especially when you add the $69 service fee on top of that. I did download and use a $25 coupon from the Watkins website, which helped. If this particular part (ignitor) goes out on me again, I'll just replace it myself. I indicated that I would hire Watkins again for other HVAC issues, but I'm really on the fence about that based on my experience with this repair (I would have selected "maybe" if that was one of the choices).

The technician came promptly, was dressed professionally, and wore booties in the house (all of this was very impressive). Talked with me about the services he was going to perform and what the AC check was all about. I mentioned to him that the AC coils had frozen over once before (this was immediately after the power had gone out and it was over 85 in my house when the power came back on) and he noted that it could be for two reasons (low coolant pressure or low air movement; I somewhat understand this as I took thermodynamics as an undergrad). He checked everything out and noted they were no issues; coolant pressures were fine (I have a 410a/Puron system so the coolant pressures are quite high). He did however comment that I needed a new contactor/solenoid as they one I had was quite pitted (it was, he showed me). I must admit the mark up on these parts is quite high, but I do understand the need to cover insurance, trucks, inventory, and call out service. I let him install the contactor and he was on his way. He did a fine job cleaning the outside unit. The problem........the system continued to freeze over way more frequently after he left (about every other day versus once). I took advantage of my home warranty knowing I had just had the system checked over by a reputable company. The home warranty sent a guy out who found my system to be quite low (pressure wise) on coolant. He show me that when I had the unit last serviced, the "king" valve was not tightened and had let the coolant leak out. He showed me the pressure readings on his gauges, which I compared to the sheet given to me by Watkins and what they read. Mistakes are mistakes, and one doesn't make a company; however, this experience makes me even more leery of HVAC contractors. In other words, I spent quite a bit of time checking out Youtube on how to fix contactors/capacitors/other basics of HVAC to troubleshoot on my own prior to calling. I did indicate I would use them again; because there is no "maybe" radio button to select. Update: Because of the HVAC system continually running during the periods in which the system was freezing over consistently, my Energy bill went from being ~$150 dollars a month to ~$320 dollars. Understand some increase might have been from the hot weather; however well over 100% increase is unacceptable. I would appreciate a response from the company.

Watkins Mechanical Inc. let me know what was going on. They were on time. They were very pleasant to deal with. After they were done, everything worked real well. Their price was reasonable. I will use them again if needed.

I called, they came and fixed the problem, answered all of my questions and the solution was explained completely. And it continues to work completely.

They were higher with their estimate but I felt like they were quality people and that helps. They gave me a free estimate on the furnace. I was impressed with their service technician and his knowledge. However, they were $3000 higher than the company I went with. They quoted me $6500 for an electric heat pump and $8500 for a gas furnace and a central air conditioning unit. They are a family owned company and they would be really good to deal with. They would have been my second choice. I wouldn't hesitate to call them for estimates in the future.

Our old heater went out last winter on a Saturday and I called three vendors to get it replaced. Only one, Watkins, was concerned with getting the heat back on as soon as possible. Elliot Watkins came to our house, replaced a capacitor and had the old unit working the same day. He gave us a very competitive estimate and because he saved us several cold nights, got the job. The installation was great, completed in one day, and the new Trane unit has run perfectly. He also came back in the spring to check on the unit and make sure our Air Conditioner(Carrier) was running properly. Turns out it was somewhat low on refrigerant and not running efficiently due to a leaking evaporator coil, so Watkins fixed it up and saved us money on our electric bill. The main company is in Springboro, but Elliot has branched out into the Cincinnati area and does a fantastic job. He will explain what he is doing and why and has been in the business long enough to correctly remedy almost any HVAC problem. The evaporator coil on our Air Conditioner had quit after only 5 years but it was out of warranty by several weeks. Elliot managed to work with the manufacturer to get it replaced under warranty (it was still expensive) because he has a history with the HVAC distributors in the Cincinnati area. We found them to be exceptional. We spent about $130 on that service. We liked their professionalism and their knowledgeable about the heating and cooling system that was in our home. We recently moved in, so it was a new system for us and was nice to have somebody that could explain everything to us. We would imagine that their pricing is pretty comparable.

Their service guy is absolutely wonderful. He specializes in old oil furnaces. His name is Marty Watkins and I think that he is the owner's brother. He is just great. He is a really nice man and I feel very comfortable having him at home. He does a good job. They are on time and very punctual. They are very neat and he always puts slippers on when he comes into my home. They are nice people to work with. Their prices are the same as anybody else.

I contacted you a couple weeks back regarding the services I received from Watkins Heating and Cooling. I selected them simply becasue they were so highly rated by Angie. They came out and replaced the fan motor ( motor only - the fan itself was not replaced) and charged me $400. The bill was $460 or so because they also replaced a cannister. The work took about 30 minutes. I subsequently contacted another guy who had previously worked on my air conditioner and he estimated around $180.I don't think Angie should condone a company ripping people off even when they are giving good service. I really felt like the charge was outrageous. The motor itself can't be more than a $50 - $75 part.I admit the error is on my part for agreeing to the service. He suggested I should possibly replace the unit becasue the condenser would be next to go and his estimate for a new air conditioner was over $3000. I thought there was no way I could do that right now so agreed to just replacing the fan motor. Only afterwards did I think that $400 seemed incredibly high.Let me know your thoughts . . .I appreciate it.

They were always friendly, courteous, and on time. We were provided clear and detailed explanations of the job. The work was completed as promised and for the exact price on the initial estimate. Even though it seems to me that the installation was more difficult than expected (it certainly took longer than expected), we were not charged extra for the unforeseen issues and extra work. I would highly recommend this company.

We've had Watkins repair our heat pump several times in the last several years. Access to parts of the unit are in a very tight, very hard to access crawl space. Watkins has always been punctual and professional even when a repair has required several trips. They are careful to clean up when the work's done. They explain the problem completely and give you a good run-down on why it happened and what might or might not happen next. When we discussed whether it was time to replace the unit, they didn't push, but in fact, estimated that, based on repairs over the last few years, it would probably run smoothly for a few more years. And, indeed, it has. It's a family-owned company and they are active in the community. I have trust and confidence in them.
