Teasdale-Fenton is Cincinnati based, but people throughout Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton know our name and—judging by their feed back—really like us. It's amazing how far a little old-fashioned respect, honesty and hard work goes. We want you impressed with your results, satisfied with the price and happy to call us the next time you need cleaning or restoration. "Pros - Provider was very responsive and communication was excellent. I used Angie’s List to request quotes and this provider responded within an hour. Work was scheduled quickly. - Service technician called ahead, was polite, and took the time to explain the process and the work that was to be completed. - Pricing was very good (if requirements were met – see below). Cons - Six registers (@$15/each) located in the finished basement ceiling were very likely not cleaned as the louvers are kept shut in the summer months and cannot possibly be opened without using a step ladder. No ladder was used by the service technician other than one provided by me for access to the main trunk lines. Step ladder was provided after discovering technician using a chair to stand on. - Access holes drilled into the basement duct work left shards of metal on the floor that were not vacuumed or swept at the completion of the work. A few pieces of sharp metal were later found tracked onto a carpeted stairwell. - Debris was found on the floor and on furniture around a few of the return vents, likely a result of the compressed air used to clean the grill. Although I suspect this may be common and normal, I also suspect leaving it there for the homeowner to clean up is not. - Technician did not wear protective shoe covers when walking across carpeting as is typical for most in-home service work. This is particularly notable for a company also in the carpet cleaning business."

You can use rug shampoo on an oriental rug, but you need to make sure you use a natural, non-abrasive shampoo. While other carpets made from synthetic fiber can stand up to harsh chemicals, the natural material—sheep’s wool, cotton, silk, or camel hair—that goes into an oriental rug will break down and get damaged if they come in contact with traditional rug shampoos. In many cases, it’s best to let a professional assess your carpet and determine which gentle shampoo would be most appropriate.
The average cost to have a professional clean an oriental rug is around $6 per square foot, and most cleaners charge between $5 and $9 per square foot. The size of your rug will be a major factor when it comes to cleaning costs. For example, a 6x9 foot rug will cost $320 on average, while a 9x12 foot rug will cost $650 or more.
The state of your oriental rug will also play a role, as rugs that are excessively dirty and haven’t been cleaned in years will take longer to clean and, therefore, cost more.
It’s possible to clean an oriental rug yourself, but it’s not recommended for two reasons. First, most DIYers only have access to rug shampoos and equipment like steam cleaners, which won’t provide the same deep clean that an industrial machine that shakes dust and dirt out of the fibers would. Second, using any harsh chemicals or shampoos that aren’t specifically made for oriental rugs could damage the material. It’s often a better idea to get an oriental rug professionally cleaned, as this reduces the risk of damage and provides a better clean.
