Family owned and operated, McCarty's Landscaping is your single stop in southwest Ohio for anything commercial or residential in property maintenance and management. Specializing in Landscape and hardscape, we have also began expanding into and specializing in general construction with the aid of our father company, McCarty Brothers, Inc. which holds over 30 years experience in the construction industry.
"I am honestly not sure his this company has 5 star reviews. Service has definitely went down hill. The response time and customer service is below average. Zach is very unresponsive and leaves messages unanswered. They were supposed to let me know at least one week before that they would be coming out, and I received a text the day before not even asking me if the date worked, but stating there would be a crew at my home. The owner Issac tries to do what is right, but unfortunately today 4/13/2024, I expressed 2 concerns that I have expressed 3 prior times to him and he keeps blowing me off ( 1 of them is a drain issue that could cause potential issues to my foundation) He knows it is an issue, but it’s a big deal to re do and fix. They charged me over 2,500 and knew this was one of my main concerns from day 1. They also will not come back and put anymore seed on my grass. They expect me to do that after 2,500. I tried to call Issac multiple times (the owner) and he blocked me. I tried from another number and yes I was blocked. Unbelievably unprofessional. I will be disputing all charges with my bank. My hope would be they would fix their mistakes and show true 5 star service!!!"

We custom make every box to your exact measurements as well as custom color our boxes to your specifications. WOW offers four seasons of planting so your boxes are never empty! The company is just run by Sue and Bret Schneider who are mother and son. They do all the work themselves and do not use subcontractors. Pricing information can be found at www.wowwindowboxes.com. "Perfect! I have used them for probably at least 5 years, doing 4 seasonal plantings/year. Also have the irrigation system. Love my flowers/plantings year round. I think initially there were some struggles early on when Sue was doing the scheduling. Do not think she is doing this any longer. They are very good at communicating, especially when there might be a frost prior to the winter planting or an especially hot time during the spring with instructions on how to give the boxes an extra watering. Saw the 2 negative reviews and wanted to add a very positive one!"

Even better, before making a trip to a nursery to buy new plants, consult a local landscaper to test your soil for pH levels, soil texture, and phosphorus and potassium levels to help determine the best plants for your area.
Garden nurseries offer many plants to make your home and garden flourish. In-container plants are one option, including perennials, annuals, and small shrubs or trees. Large hedge plants and roses are called bare-root plants, meaning they have not been potted. Finally, you will see some burlapped plants, typically larger trees and shrubs with burlap wrapping around the bottom.
The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. When the summer weather arrives and it’s hot out, it’s best to avoid planting bare-root plants, but you can still plant many in-container varieties. The first sign of fall is another great opportunity to plant biennials if you live in southern states, or a lovely vegetable garden up north.
If you’re hiring a landscaper to plant the garden of your dreams, you do not need to provide them with plants that you bought yourself from a nursery. While you certainly can provide your landscaper with plants, keep in mind that some nurseries provide discounts to landscaping companies, therefore potentially lowering your materials cost. Beyond the cost of the plants themselves, you need to have additional materials like topsoil and mulch for the project. Most likely, your landscaper can get a discount on these materials as well, so it’s worth speaking with them before making any large purchases.
