He made me feel like my opinion mattered above anything else and always made an effort to make my ideas come to life, even if it required an extra step or two.... or three ;-) His assistant, Brian, is a cool cat and is just as respectful, funny, and skilled as Mike. The number one priority for me is to hire someone that I feel that I can trust beyond the project itself. It's because of this reason that I will be hiring Permaculture Guru for several other projects in and around the house. I will be uploading photos soon. Description of Work: I bought a house that had a couple of poorly DIY deck projects and were in desperate need of replacement. I found Mike on Craigslist and called him up to take a look at a few potential projects. He was extremely knowledgable regarding decks, railings, fences, retaining walls, gutters, trees, floors, subfloors, material options for my living room floor. I felt EXTREMELY comfortable with Mike and decided to move forward with a quote and hiring his company. PHASE I Mike tore out an old deck, garden area, wooden stairs and replaced everything with a larger multi-level & partially floating deck, added a privacy fence on the deck with a custom pergola style top. The deck is GORGEOUS! Everything went so well that I decided to tack on a PHASE II project, which included the demolition of another deck in front of the house. He had the brilliant idea to connect the front deck with the other deck to complete a wraparound-deck that allows me to access the deck from my office or the bedroom. LOVE!

+ 1 moreThe installer installed 2 Jim Beam display cabinets. He coordinated with the direct express driver to pick up the old fixtures and drop off the new fixtures for installation. He coordinated with the CVG security and maint. to bring the fixtures in on a 4 wheel half ton furniture dolly. He uninstalled the old fixtures and disposed of them. He removed ceiling panels and drop ceiling attached to top of existing cabinet, and tilework and grout into existing fixtures and removed trim and crown molding from the display. Existing cabinetry was built onsite and connected to adjacent display units and had to be strategically removed in pieces to prevent damage to adjacent units. He worked with the Senco Electrician to disconnect and reconnect power to the LED fixtures. Mike was very attentive, professional, friendly, and easy to work with. He made my job of managing the project a lot easier and always checked in with me to give me updates!
Description of Work: The provider went into the Cincinnati airport for us and performed an installation inside one of the duty free gift stores. The install consisted of removing previous display cabinets for alcohol and installing newer wooden cabinets for displaying Jim Beam alcohol.

+ 0 moreThe work was great and done in a timely manner. The area was left clean and the deck looked great. It helped with the sale of the house and was worth the money. He spent the time to get the little details correct. I would highly recommend him on any project.
Description of Work: Mike tore off the existing deck, but left all the support structure and then he resurfaced the deck.

Description of Work: Mike leveled my deck and made it safe again by replacing center beams. He then replaced all rotted and nasty boards and then... helped me design the perfect lower deck for around my pool. Him and his team then skirted the entire project and it looks beautiful. All while this was being done he volunteered his knowledge of pool chemicals to help me get my pool sparkling clear for the season. Always on time and always cleaned up.

He was professional in his approach, offering numerous suggestions such as how to utilize more efficiently the available water on our property, such as storing and reusing the wastewater from our swimming pool when we clean the filter, and creating a water storage system with rain barrels. He offered some ideas on where we might plant fruit trees and berry bushes. This was an initial visit for a possible comprehensive future plan that would allow us to grow more food on our 1/3 acre property, and better utilize the resources that we have to become as self sustaining as possible.
Description of Work: This was a consult for creating a permaculture plan for our property. He went over the different areas of our property discussing how each area might be used in the context of an overall plan.
