My experience was outstanding. No one wants to be in a position where a huge boiler must be removed along with surrounding asbestos. Great Lakes Contracting went above and beyond to make certain my experience was as painless and professional. I have a lot of expensive equipment in my finished basement. GLC made certain that all my equipment was safe while removing an incredibly large boiler. This company understands the true meaning of customer service and professionalism. I highly recommend!

Brian was very responsive by phone and flexible with scheduling a visit for the assessment. He assessed the condition of the original 1960s asbestos sheet vinyl flooring (discovered when we began kitchen renovation with another contractor) to not be friable and low risk so long as we don’t break it up. He gave assurances that it should be safe to simply overlay new flooring. This was a great relief when he could have up sold us on a major remediation project. He also evaluated some water stained wood we had as a result of a kitchen plumbing leak. He suggested optional remediation if covered by homeowners insurance (it wasn’t so we didn’t pursue).

We purchased an older house for which the general inspection identified ~ 1,300 SQFt worth of compromised asbestos tiles the basement. Additionally, there was a smaller-scale mold situation identified within the same area. Great Lakes Contracting (GLC) was contacted to ***** the situation. Throughout the entire process GLC maintained effective communication, conducted themselves in a professional manner, was very accommodating, and ultimately nixed the feeling of gloom & doom that we had about the basement. Over the course of four days, GLC made our concrete floor looked like it was poured yesterday. For us, GLC proved to to be the best choice to attain a piece of mind.

We required asbestos removal and mold treatment following the inspection of our home in the process of selling. As timeliness was critical, I called Brian on a Friday late afternoon requesting an estimate. It just happened he was in the area on Monday and he came over as promised. He was practical, knowledgable and experienced. His estimate was very reasonable for the outlined work. He offered his reasoning for his methods and was thoughtful in trying to determine the cause of the mold for future prevention. We learned something along the way. Pleasant, sincere and efficient. Brian did a great job with the mold removal in our attic. His team was clean, friendly and professional.

They did what they said they would do and did an excellent job. The even got into hard to reach places, took a couple of big couches to the garage, and cleaned up after themselves.

Did not know whether the fiber glass insulation material in my house contains asbestos. Sent Brian pictures and he addressed my concerns right away on the phone. Very efficient and professional.

Very well! Incredibly responsive to my request, and quick with both the first visit and the actual work. Super respectful of our home and our time. The workers were very polite and easily articulated what they were going to do and how they’d do it. They left our house as close to spotless as could be expected. I’d absolutely hire them again for different job, and certainly recommend them for any mold/attic work.

Brian was professional, responsive, and friendly. We were in a jam when we found asbestos tile during our kitchen renovation. This happen on a Friday. Brian came out on Saturday, gave us a outstanding quote, and completed the job on Monday. They even let us keep the plastic coverings over the door until our contractor was able to lay a subfloor. This was much appreciated since we have little kids and pets and we didn’t want them walking into the kitchen. Our renovation was able to start again the next day. I’d definitely recommend his team.

Everything went well! Brian came over on a Saturday and evaluated my attic and some walls to see if there was a asbestos material even check the basement and around the house. I ended up not needing work to be done but I appreciate it how nice and down-to-earth he was.

Brian was quick to respond and honest in his assessment about my basement asbestos. (including containment options that wouldn't have benifitted him.). He came to my house and evaluated it without any high pressure sales tactics. The price was significant but in line with other estimates. Once we decided on a plan we had a two person team with Brian supervising. Brian was over for setup and multiple times per day. It was a small job, that stretched from one days into two. They apologized for this, but I was very happy to see that they were taking at much time as they needed to do the job right. (they worked hard with full shifts starting at 7am until late evening and there were no extra charges/ surprises.). They left negative pressure filters running during the whole job and overnight and they vacuumed some other areas as a courtesy. I should also mention that they worked hard to fit us in quickly and accommodate our schedules. They do a good and personal job. Highly recommend.

Brian was very accommodating with our project. We ran into an unforeseen aspestos removal required to proceed with another project. Between the quote, approval and completion of the job, the whole project was completed in under a week. Too notch all around and highly recommended.

Brian and his team from Great Lakes Contracting really saved my butt. My fiancée and I purchased our first house and began to gut out all the flooring. We pulled up all the carpet ourselves and 2/4 layers of vinyl/linoleum in the kitchen. After those first two layers in the kitchen we hit nearly-impossible-to-remove plywood and asbestos tile! I'm fairly handy, but was not going to risk asbestos exposure to save a couple dollars. I also needed to clear all the flooring out prior to installation the following week. Brian was incredibly prompt and professional. After calling on a Sunday he was out the very next day for a quote. His team was out the following day and had the whole job completed in two days. His team took a half-torn-up floor with innumerable headless screws, wood chips, tile pieces, not to mention the asbestos, and left a perfectly clean slate upon which I can install my new LVT floor. At first I thought the price was a little high, but after seeing the effort required to do everything and the perfection of the result with which I was left I realize I got a bargain. Thanks Brian.

I spoke to Brian at Great Lakes Contracting and he explained the Asbestos testing and removal process in detail. He also referred us to a testing facility and provided helpful information about getting the sample to the facility. He did these things before he even knew if we would need his services: the highest form of Customer Service! If we need to have Asbestos removed, we will definitely use Great Lakes Contracting.

Company owner Brian was courteous, immediately reassuring regarding the work required, and professional throughout the project. After assessing the mold problem, he provided an estimate and was immediately able to schedule a date to begin work the following week. His two workers arrived promptly and were both extremely personable and professional. They were careful to minimize any disruption to our household during the work, they were friendly to our dog, and they worked efficiently. they also invited me to inspect their work and pointed out several things to me regarding the source of our moisture problem, once demo was complete. Their containment of the project space and their thorough efforts to protect all flooring along the route outside reflected their experience with a wide range of related projects. The thoroughly cleaned up before leaving and all work was completed in one day, as originally estimated. Brian and his team made what could have been a very disruptive project as easy and stress-free as possible. I also feel that Brian is someone I can follow up with if I have further questions or need any related work completed. I would have absolutely no reservations hiring Great Lakes Contracting again in the future.
