As a general contractor it's always a big problem when you find mold or other hazardous materials in a client's home. Great Lakes Contracting is my go to source for any type of hazardous material and mold removal. They are always quick to respond and schedule the work, and complete any remediation professionally and efficiently. My most recent project was a challenging and dirty job in a tight crawlspace and the crew used every precaution and set up lots of protection. When they were done the job was left clean and safe. Brian and his crew did a great job. They removed mold that formed from a leak in the kitchen ceiling. They were able to make it out within a week from the time of the original estimate. They finished the job in about 4 hours and cleaned everything up after they finished. I would definitely hire them again and would recommend them to anyone else looking to have anything like this done.

For me it went terrific. I sent Brian some photos of the floors and based on the age of the house and his evaluation, he came to the conclusion that most probably it was asbestos material in the existing tiles. He gave me a ballpark cost of the project. He also was kind enough to offer a bunch of additional info to help with our decision on this project.

Brian with Great Lakes Contracting was an exemplary professional. I recently purchased a house and needed mold mitigation and encapsulation of asbestos-insulated pipes prior to moving in. Brian gave me an rapid price estimate, which was about 20% lower than the quote from another company. Work was completes in a single day by Brian and his crew. There was no more mold in the basement, and the asbestos pipes were completely encapsulated with great care. The worksite was left exceptionally clean.

No one wants to hear they have mold in their house. If you do, you should contact Brian because he will usher you through the mold remediation process quickly and efficiently while minimizing the impact on your life. Our situation started with mold in two walk-in attics and unfortunately it had spread to our entire roof. Brian’s team had to remove all of our ceilings and some of our walls. We had original plaster and cove ceilings. Brian’s team worked hard to save as much of the coves as they could. They used zippered doors to seal off the second floor and negative air machines so we could stay in the house during remediation. During the entire process (about 7 days for everything) they were very clean, on-time, worked hard all day, and were a pleasure to deal with. They were even nice to my older dogs who would occasionally interrupt their work to be pet. Our house was a fixer-upper when we bought it and I wish every contractor we have dealt with conducted business like Brian. I have included pictures of before (yellow mold) and after (after remediation and sealing) for refernece.

Very good service and quality. Brian and team were flexible in accommodating my schedule and completed the work very soon after I initially contacted him. In and out in half a day. Over 800 sqft of tile removed and floor cleaned exceptionally well. Overall a very satisfied customer.

He listened to my concerns and provided recommendations and measures I can take to determine whether or not I need asbestos removal services before committing to work that may be unnecessary. Brian encapsulated a number of ducts in my basement and crawl space that had uncoated insulation wrap that may contain asbestos. He identified and treated spots quickly, and was done in 2 hours. Would hire again if needed.

Brian and his crew did an amazing job remediating the mold problem in my attic and ensuring the space was properly ventilated. He was quick to respond to my initial quote request and was at my home within a day or two for the initial inspection. Although he was not the cheapest of the quotes we received, his initial consultation left us confident in his ability to not only ensure our home was safe, but that the process would be minimally disruptive and that our living areas would be left as clean as they started, which is why we chose him over other cheaper competitors. The team was knowledgeable, respectful and honestly a pleasure to have in our home for the day. They offered to go the extra mile to double seal my 2 year old’s bedroom door during the remediation to alleviate my wife’s concerns and even made effort to work quietly while my toddler napped. In addition, they traveled well over an hour to arrive at my home in a timely manor and went beyond their contracted obligations by offering advice on maintaining proper attic airflow, spot cleaning, etc. We are very happy with our decision to hire Brian and his team and would definitely recommend.

Wonderful! Brian came right away to give an estimate and the job was done very cleanly and professionally. They know what they are doing. Not once did I feel as though my family was in any danger from having it removed. The price was great and the work was done fast.

Needed asbestos removed from an old heater pipe so that work could be done on the pipes themselves. Brian and team showed up and performed the work on the same day. Was impressed with how efficient and clean his team worked. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs contracting work done.

Brian hired three young men to do this ACM Removal work which requires high professional skills and equipment. Job is done but not very clean on the floor, left the chemical on the wall, and hand-print or marks on the wall. Lessons: 1. Always require the professional skills and equipment to deal with chemical materials. 2. if possible, ask the owner or pro to do this kind of job. They deserve to be paid well. 3. Always onsite estimate with written quote.

Called Dan on a Monday. By that Friday the work was complete. Treated the attic and one spot in the attic for mold. Removed asbestos insulation around an air duct. Good work crew that I felt comfortable having in my home.
