Everything was great, from the estimate to the completion. Pricing was very competitive with other contractors and he seemed very knowledgeable on the flooring. He offered suggestions on the steps during the estimate that were very helpful. He also offered a wonderful suggestion on how to blend the darker hardwood floor in the great room with the natural oak trim on the handrail and trim by staining the stair treads lighter and risers darker to match the floor, and it looks wonderful and have received many compliments on this. He also came back after the job was done to install a matching transition piece that I did not have at the time of the installation. He stayed completed on schedule and everything was very clean at the end of the day and at the job completion. I would recommend and use again in the future.

We love Szabi! He had an opening on his calendar and saved it for us while we were still making estimates. We only had a week in our new empty house to do work before the big move and the floors were priority. Farkas Floors was the clear answer! No mess, no dust storms, noisy but understandably so, quick and impressive results! Stains were easy to choose as he left 3 swatches on the floor for us to compare. He even offered to come back to fix floor spots in case our movers did any damage. The floors are beautiful! We get compliments on them with every visitor!

Installer came on time, removed tiles and left. I received a call from Home Depot saying that due to the difficulty of the tile removal and condition of the floor after that, there would be an extra charge of approximately $700 for leveling the floor. There was no mention of such a major extra charge in the original agreement. Floor was leveled, tile installed and result was beautiful. Installer was pleasant, explained everything as he went along. Farkas Flooring did great; Home Depot did not.

He came and gave me an estimate. The price was comparable with other estimates I had. He was very detailed and polite. The finished floors turned out great. Very clean, almost no dust. I am very pleased with his work.

Szebi was excellent, from first contact for an estimate to project completion. He is a good communicator, is very responsive and his price was far better than any other vendor. He was pleasant throughout the entire project. He was a great help when all the product I ordered arrived damage, loading it in his truck for a return and getting a replacement (I was minimally helpful because of a bad back). If I ever needed a floor done or anyone in my family needed a new floor, I would highly recommend him. The floor looks great and I am extremely happy.

The project went very well and completed in a timely manner. He did the clean up each day and put the things in order. The rooms he put the hardwood floor look very nice. We are very glad to have him to do the floor for us. He is a knowledgeable and eary going person.

It took 3 days to do the work. The final result looks great!

I called to leave a message on a Sunday afternoon expecting a return call on the following Monday. Szabi returned my call later that same day and we scheduled an appointment to give an estimate the following Wednesday. He also told me at the time of our initial conversation that it would be several weeks before he would be available. He was prompt in arriving for the estimate and we scheduled the job. He called a couple days before our scheduled time to let me know that he finished early on another job and could start a day earlier if I wanted. It was a 2 day job and he arrived promptly at 8:00 AM each day. He was courteous and professional and when he finished the floors looked beautiful! I would recommend him and when I am ready to have the bedrooms done I will definitely call Szabi Farkas.

Szabi Farkas from the beginning returned calls promptly and came to the house on time. He was friendly, and very helpful--over and above the job he was to perform. He gave us a quote and stuck by that price. He did an excellent job and cleaned up after himself. We would recommend him very highly.

It went good. They did the work at my daughter's house that's why I went with them. They did the job. Quality was good. Everything would be an A.

I had a contractor who had started to refinish my floor and did a poor job, so I urgently needed someone to come and re-do the job. I contacted Sobie from Farkas Flooring, among other contractors, and he was very quick to return my call and provided me with a very competitive quote. Sobie refinished my entire kitchen, foyer, and powder room floor. The job was done timely and flawlessly. Sobie even came out a couple of months later to do touch-ups after all the furniture was moved in. He provided us with excellent service and we are extremely pleased and receive lots of compliments on our newly finished floor! Would highly recommend!

Szabi Farkas is a true pro and a pleasure to deal with. All time commitments were met. He was extremely neat and very professional at all time. The floor is absolutely beautiful. Szabi worked with us to determine which stain to use and put down samples on the unfinished floor for our decision. He custom-built a step that was slightly wider than pre-made oak steps and did a beautiful job. Our wood floor is like a piece of fine wood furniture that you happen to walk on. We would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to use Farkas Flooring for any new wood floor or hardwood floor refinishing.

The job went very well. Szabi is a very nice , professional and hard working person. During the period of floor installation, he came on time every day and clean up the unfinished work each day. He gave us advice on the color choices and the way how the wood should be laid down to avoid future issues. He did the border around the fireplace, bathroom without extra charge. He paid extremely details on his work and proud of his work. We are very lucky to have him to do our floor. We have reserved his time to come back again to do our other side of the floor. We are very glad to see the new hardwood floor and the craftsmanship for installation is great.

We contacted three separate flooring companies for an estimate. All found on Angie's list. One came out, and we never heard from them again. Another, after hearing of the condition of the floor, referred us to his installer. He came our and repeatedly said how difficult it would be and very costly. Enter Szabi (Sof-phee) of Sarkas Floors. He returned out calls promptly, arrived for our estimate and then eased our concerns with a confident attitude. Getting on schedule was, in hindsight, the hardest part of this repair job. We received a written estimate and made an appointment that day. We discussed what prep work would be required (move furniture) for the repair. Szabi called and confirmed our appointment the day before and arrived as scheduled. He immediately set to work, removing trim and the laminate floor. We felt very at ease with Szabi in our house and he was very respectful at all times. The work was completed early and turned out not to be as complex as he first thought. He amended his written estimate and lowered the total price from his estimates. This is the first time I've ever experienced an adjustment to an estimate not involving materials but labor. I can't recommend this young man enough.

Szobi did a great job. He lived up to all he said he was going to do and then some. That is hard to find today! Szobi was punctual, professional and the quality of his work is superb. A true craftsman. The level of care and attention to detail in his work was very evident. Szobi gave us suggestions, helped us think about details that were important and he did that without being overbearing in any way. The work was done on time and without any headache. His work and his word can be trusted. Sometimes you look back at a contractor and you can pick apart things and be dissatisfied with even a minor aspect of the work. With Farkas Floors, we were completely satisfied and would recommend him for any hardwood flooring project.

I can't say enough good things about Szabi Farkas! From start to finish hiring him was a wonderful experience. He returned my initial call promptly and came within a couple days to give me an estimate. I believe his estimate was right on and fair. There was some damage to my floor that he was not sure if he would be able to sand out, so the initial quote reflected the repair. I have had other refinishers automatically assume that the floor would need to be torn up and replaced. Szabi stated that he would do his best to sand it out first. While he was in my home during the estimate he also gave me some tips as to how to secure the floor a little better and stop some of the squeaks after he noticed some loose boards. This is something that he could have done and charged me for, but said that I could diy it and told me what to do. I appreciated that. Szabi was able to put me on the schedule in about 3 weeks. He called the night before to confirm and gave me the time he'd be starting. All he asked was that I had the furniture out of the room. He was prompt the next morning and got right to work. He taped off all my adjacent rooms to prevent dust during the sanding. As for the dust there was so little that all I needed to do was go over my mantle with a Swiffer. He was meticulous in his clean up. Szabi sanded the floors to perfection. These 50+ year old white oak floors had never been finished before and had multiple stains. He was even able to get all the stains out even the large one that other floorers said would have to be replaced. There was also a large gash in the hallway which he repaired and you can't even tell that it was there. After sanding was done he stained them just as we discussed and then added the coats of polyurethane. All was done with skill and attention to detail. I was kept informed of everything that was going on...even warned when it was going to be loud. Szabi worked hard and was able to get my floors done faster than expected. They are gorgeous!!! I couldn't believe how beautiful and brand new they looked. His final price came out lower than the original quote due to his not having to replace the floors, so he did stay true to the initial quote. The whole experience was fantastic. He was there when he said he would be, worked hard, and was kind and courteous throughout the whole experience. I will be calling him again in the future to refinish my bedrooms. You would be smart to choose Szabi as your floor refinisher! He is a true professional who know his craft. Thanks so much!

Couldn't be happier. All of the meetings prior to the installation were directed to make sure the end product was going to meet all my expectations. Curtesy and professionalism was always apparent during all of the meetings pre and post installation. I am looking forward to having the living and dining room done soon.

Szabi was on time for the estimate, well prepared, and gave us a reasonable estimate on the spot. We were able to schedule the work when we wanted it done, and he arrived right on time every day (3) that he performed his work. When it came time to pick a stain color, he spent as much time as we needed in order to make our choice, and finished the job on time and with excellent results. He is friendly and professional. He has the tools, expertise and experience to do exactly what is needed - on time and with no drama! We are very satisfied with his work.

Szabi Farkas came out the same evening called to provide quote. He was very knowledgable and suggested the best method, materials to achieve the finish we desired. The work was scheduled and actually started a day earlier than expected which was wonderful! Szabi did a fabulous job and was able to remove stains in the wood that others said would not likely come out. He worked efficiently and left the area as clean as he found it. We are so pleased with his work that we are hiring him again to touch-up our living room and dining room floors that were refinished in July by a different company. I highly recommend his service.

Szabi did beyond an excellent job refinishing 100 yr old floors in a Lakewood home for me. He even replaced cracked boards and installed new hardwood in a 100 sq/ft area that was missing. (He matched it perfectly!) He explained how they cross-cut the first pass of sanding the floors, which helps level them out..and it did! The floors are straight, smooth and stained perfectly edge to edge. And we just painted the baseboards and he did hurt or damage any of the shoe molding that actually touches the floor. He also stained some new molding that someone else installed...and did not charge us for it! Amazing workmanship, punctual, on-time, kept me updated every step. Provided sample stains. ...just top notch all the way around. He held to his original estimate, which was more than fair, and did not up-charge for the additional work the job ended up needing. A+++++++

Szabi Farkas was very professional in all aspects of the estimate and installation. He arrived on time and finished a day early from his original estimate. He and his brother were great to work with and did a great job of installing and finishing the wood. The finished floor is beautiful and we are very satisfied with it. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a professional job of hardwood installation at a fair price.

The floors look fantastic! Mr. Farkas was honest and even though I wanted lighter stain, he explained how much better they would turn out if I chose a little darker stain because of the damaged areas. His team was efficient, timely and delivered.

Szabi was originally a recommendation from a friend, and then I read his review on Angie's List. We recently bought a home in Lakewood in desperate need of some floor refinishing. We contracted with Szabi to do our entire home, aside from the basement stairs. After getting quotes from a few other companies, I asked Szabi if he could do the job for x amount of money which was just slightly below the lowest estimate. He works alone but was very efficient in getting through our whole house in about 4 days. He was extremely responsive and patient with all of the questions I asked along the way (as a first time homeowner, I had no idea about anything--) When we asked him about stain color he stained the floor in a couple different area to show us samples. In the end we took his recommendation and we were ecstatic to see how it turned out. The stain lends a nice, antique-ish look, which fits the era of the house perfectly. Szabi even gave us advice on a mini project we were taking on, staining a small, wood vanity countertop. He went as far to sand it himself for us, and called me when he thought the stain I picked out wasn't what I would like! So, he offered to use a bit of his stain to achieve the look I was going for. He truly went above and beyond, and exceeded my expectations. He also taped rooms off, and kept everything clean. He just put bags of dust by our garbage can after he was done. Of course there was some dust residue on the walls, and the (painted) baseboards got a bit nicked up, but it was nothing I couldn't fix in about an hour. I don't think there is anyone out there who can offer a completely clean refinishing process. We were so happy, and we are excited to enjoy our floors for years to come in our new home. Everyone raves about our floors when they see them!

Punctual when coming to give us an estimate. Allowed us all the time we needed for questions both then and later. Gave us an excellent quote and the earliest date he could do it. We agreed on the cost and installation date. He came on the day he was suppose to, at the exact time he said he would be here. Floor went down without a problem, but a few extras he did for us at no extra cost required him making a couple of trips to the store. Things couldn't have gone any smoother than they did.

Szabi (pronounced "Sobie") was very courteous and professional throughout the entire process. We collected estimates from multiple companies and he was the lowest by $0.50/square foot. He worked around our schedule on when to start each phase and showed up early each day. He also finished on time. We found his work impecable and have received lots of complements on the new floors.Since hiring Szabi we have passed his name along to multiple friends who have all had similar experiences.
