Mr. Felix Floor Inc

The first problem we had was that we noticed they were not doing anything in between polyurethane coats; no sanding or wiping it down, to help it stick to the other coats. It just seems they were lazy. They were in and out within 20 minutes on the first day. My husband called and they said that is how they did it they had done it for several years. I was there the next day and I saw them come in and leave within 10 minutes and they only took in the polyurethane. Later in the day, on the second day, we noticed there was a sea of debris in the polyurethane. There was no sweeping or wiping up in between so all the debris just stuck to the polyurethane. You can look at our floor and see bumps everywhere, it is like rubbing your hand on sandpaper in some sizable areas and another layer would seal the bumps further into the floor instead of fix the problem. He said he was going to buff it down and add another layer. Which if they buffed it down, it would bring it back to 1 layer of polyurethane. Then once it was dry we walked in our home and our dining room does not match at all. It is like adding a blonde straight hair clip on someone with red curly hair. We had a few other companies out since we noticed the problem and they said there is no way when they were laying the floor they did not realize there was a difference in the wood. They said ours was a mix and what they put in was a mix but they don’t match at all. One is a red oak and the other is more a white oak. The red oak has a lot of detail. We don’t even have similar style with the different color, or different style with similar color. If one started to match maybe I could handle it, but both are so different. The other companies have told us that even with the stain on the white oak, white oak does not pull the red color in which can magnify the different looks. They also were supposed to sand behind the refrigerator, but they did succeed to get the polyurethane on the refrigerator. In the bathroom they did not remove the shoe mold by the baseboard so you can see a very distinct line of the difference in stain. It just looks bad. Even if he would have told us if the wood was on sale we would not have done it. He denies it does not match. The fact he is in denial it is making it very hard to work with. Had he stood up for what had happened and said he could work with us to fix the problem, we would have been fine. The guys put the polyurethane on the carpet. It seems like the guys came in and were angry with the owner and were trying to butcher his reputation The price would have been very fair had we received the work we were expecting. The hardwood floor was not given a chance to acclimate. It was immediately brought in for installation. We have had other people come out and look ot our floors and they said there could be some problems in the future.

Mr. Felix took the time to explain our options and alternatives. We had so many questions afterward, and he was patient enough with us. His crew showed up on time, they were very professional. The job was done on time, with amazing results. We can't be any happier. Outstanding !!

Wow. It's a good-looking floor, so much so, that I have contacted Mr. Felix again so that they can installed bamboo flooring in my reading room sometime in April. This is a very reliable company and you won't go wrong using them.

They did a really good job. They were fixing a previous crappy job done by a handyman. His communication was fast. He gave us an estimate and gave suggestions on what to do. He did a really good job. The price was pretty reasonable. We would use him again.

It was excellent. I was impressed because Mr. Felix told me exactly how much each stage of the job would cost--how much taking up the carpet and old wood floor would cost, putting down the new flooring, moving the stove, etc. Everything was very well laid out. He had a crew of 4-5 young men who really worked very well. They didn't take more than one break throughout the day. They were very neat and clean. I would reccomend them to anyone.

Mr. Felix and his staff were extremely professional, prompt and knowledgeable. They came in on a Tuesday repaired our kitchen floor where there was water damage and installed new flooring in our front living room. Wednesday they sanded and applied the 1st coat of sealer ( not sure what it?s called), Thursday they applied the 2nd and final coat and our floors look fabulous. I was extremely impressed with their expertise in hardwood floor installation and repair.

Felix is an old school professional. It is clear he has been doing this his entire life and was able to provide recommendations that made this the renovation we have been thinking about for years. Felix was courteous, timely and thorough in his assessment, the completion of our quote and had the job completely done according to our schedule. It was clear he had very high expectations for his team and visited the job daily to ensure things were according to his standards. The first day the home was emptied within the first half hour, and we have A LOT of furniture. They had the floor fully demolished and old materials removed within another hour - very impressive. By the end of the first day, 3/4 of the hardwood was installed. All hardwood was installed by the end of the second day. The next couple of days were for a thorough sanding and then the finishing coats. There was NO mess, as they did a great job with their Hepa vacs and applying painters plastic on all of our cabinets, dishwasher, etc. Treating us like family, he recommended we stay out of the home for a day or two as they were applying the finish because of a light odor, which was a great idea for the health of our kids. The transformation was more than we could have imagined and we love our new and fresher home. Next year we will tackle the steps and start upstairs. Thanks Felix.

The crew was punctual and did excellent work. All joints and edges are tight. They even installed a transition between the entry and the carpet in the adjoining family room. They kept the dust and mess to a minimum.

Mr Felix came to our house and give us a quote. After talking with him, we felt very confident in hiring him to install the floors on our dniing and living room. He and his team came a few days later to do the work. They did an excellent job on the floors. They are fast, punctual, and very professional. They had excellent attention to detail.

After 12 yrs. in our home, we needed new flooring. We decided to install hardwood flooring in our great room. In Dec. of '09, we had Mr. Felix install wood flooring in our living room, dining room, office, half-bath and hallway. In addition, he suggested that we have our foyer sanded and re-stained to perfectly match these rooms. Now we wanted our great room done. Mr. Felix is the consummate professional. His workers are the best. They are experts in installation, especially around the stone fireplace base, which I consider a difficult area. They also clean up everything before they leave for the day and are careful with the furniture replacement when the job is completed. My parents, brother and his wife have also used Mr. Felix floor services in the past. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Mr. Felix' crew first demolished heavy quarry tile from the floors, walls and kitchen countertops. This was not an easy job, but they took care of it quickly and neatly. The hardwood floors were then installed, along with all of the travertine. They did a beautiful job in every respect. We had a couple of punchlist requests that they immediately took care of. Communication was great, and they were extremely prompt and very neat. We were very impressed with Mr. Felix and his crew. They had some great suggestions when we found a problem with the base flooring underneath the existing tile. They were extremely professional, and very fair in their pricing. (Please note that the price listed here included the price of very high quality oak flooring, but did not include the cost of the travertine, which we purchased ourselves.)

The owner, Felix, and his entire crew were very professional, and did an amazing job. The old floors look great, and the new floors, while impossible to match perfectly, look very close. We also had them come back to help us move a heat vent we had originally mis-positioned, and they're patch work blended in very well. We've had many compliments on our floors from guests, and there is a smooth transition from new to existing flooring. We would have Mr. Felix and his crew come out for future flooring jobs, and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have hardwood floors installed or refinished.

The workers were extremely hard working, efficient, and polite. They were very careful not to get stain and varnish on areas other than the floors. I was amazed at how fast the job went. It is apparent that they have the process down to a fine science. Mr. Felix prefers that any questions or requests go through him directly and not addressed to the crew but he was always reachable easily by cell phone. A couple of times we were not sure that the requests had reached the crew but apparently they had as everything was done as we requested.

It went great. Their estimate was very reasonable and they did the job exactly when they said they would. I highly recommend them.

We wanted to have solid hardwood or laminate flooring. Checked Angies list and called three companies. One of them was Mr. Felix Floor, Inc. The owner Mr. Felix came by our house explained everything about hardwood flooring and looked at our kitchen which had vinyl flooring. He recommended changing from vinyl to hardwood flooring. He gave us an estimate for both kitchen and living room. Estimate was very competitive and decided to go with Mr. Felix. We requested Mr. Felix to come with samples. During the conversation he recommended unfinished solid hardwood flooring instead of pre-finished solid hardwood flooring. We indicated to him that we will get back. After researching about unfinished and pre-finished (factory finished), decided to go with pre-finished. We wanted to look at some more samples and Mr. Felix asked us to come to his store. We went to his store on a Saturday. He showed all samples, explained installation procedure, and provided company?s name from which he was going to buy the flooring. He was upfront and encouraged me to look at the company?s web site. He stores all the material at right temperature and humidity. We made the selection and the picked a date for installation. The crew came in and completed the work within a day and half. The crew was professional. I was watching them during the installation. Installation was methodical and they followed the procedure. After installation, they cleaned the area and left some more material for future use. I asked lot of questions about flooring. Mr. Felix answered all my questions by E-mail and phone. He is very prompt in returning calls and answers his mobile phone even when he is out of town. Mr. Felix is a member of National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and follows the installation procedure recommended by NWFA, the professional society. I assume his rates are competitive because he buys material directly from the company. His company also has an excellent web site. All the products that he uses are all name brand. We are planning to have installed pre-finished solid hardwood flooring in the remaining part of the house. Mr. Felix will be doing that also when we are ready. Thank you Mr. Felix and his crew

Mr. Felix did a great job. They held to their promised timeline as we were nervous about getting hardwood floors installed prior ot the Holidays. This can be a very disruptive installation process, but we were very pleased with Mr. Felix and his crew. Mr. Felis also put in a simple inlay that we discussed in the entry that turned out great! The finish that was used was quick drying and only needed 3-4 hours before it could be walked on (2 coats). We are now ready for the holidays with beautiful wood floors! Thanks Mr. Felix!!

Contacted Mr. Felix and he was able to meet me the next morning for the walkthrough/estimate. He explained his process, timing, etc. He was able to meet a tight deadline (I needed to have the floors completed within 10 days because I was moving into the house in 14). His estimate was almost 30% less than other estimates I had received. His crew was able to start work within 5 business days of him providing the estimate. The crew arrived a few minutes late the first day but was able to complete that day's workload by the time I returned from work. They were able to complete the job without any issues and/or problems. Floors look great and glad I went with this company.

Mr. Felix quoted us prices for several potential projects in our house, including both refinishing and installing hardwood floors. He was very knowledgeable and down-to-earth during our first meeting, and he offered that we could defer half the payment for a few months if we wanted to go ahead with the whole project (although we ended up deciding to keep carpet in the one room for now and to only re-finish). Once we made up our mind, the work was scheduled quickly and completed on time. The floor looks beautiful. When we had one question/concern, Mr. Felix came back out to the house within a day to check it out and talk with us about it. At that visit, he also gave advice on cleaning the floor and on maintaining our other hardwood floors (i.e. saving money by having them buffed and re-finished before they are damaged and have to be sanded down and completely redone). We'll definitely call him in a few years when we're ready to put down more wood and to tend to the other floors.

He is excellent. He does what he says he going to do and when he says he'll do it.

After we picked out the tile at large home improvement store they picked it up the day of the work. Mr. Felix purchased the tile and grouting and added it to our bill. They completed the work in one and a half days per his estimate. The crew was very neat and orderly and cleaned up completely. Would definitely use them again. Real professionals!!!!
