Mr. Felix Floor Inc

Mr. Felix Floors removed the carpet in the hallway and refinished the hardwood floors beneath. They also removed all the doors and shoe molding to do the best job at refinishing the floors in all the rooms. The shoe molding was then reinstalled after the floors were complete. The hardwood floors look like new!

It went wonderful. They did an outstanding job. They were fast and cleaned up great. I would recommend them to anyone. They were very personable and nice.

Overall, the expierence was fine. The owner comes across a bit brash. However, his employee was very professional, nice and did quality work.

Went very well overall. Price was best of 3 estimates and Felix team will move furniture as part of the project. Many vendors would not do this. Team arrived on time and went right to work. Within 90 minutes furniture was all moved, old carpets and mats pulled and floors prepped. The job took all day. When they left it was like they had not been here. Cleanup was great. Old carpet was taken away and wood boxes removed as well. Only comment I would make about responsiveness was Felix was somewhat hard to reach and had to make more calls than desired to finalize the date. But all went well overall.

Fantastic Felix and his crew showed up on 1/19/15 to begin this project. It was completed on 1/27/15. They returned on 1/28/15 to proceed to move all our furniture back into the rooms that were done. This entire process was done in a very efficient,professional manner. There's no doubt when working with Felix and his crew that they are ALL true craftsman, and have worked together for years. We were thoroughly impressed and overjoyed with the outcome

They did a really good job. Really good price. Very good job they did. Was on time. Very professional. Cleaned after themselves. Very good company.

Felix came in roughly 2 days after my first contact with him to give me an estimate. I had one other company give an estimate and Felix was right in line with that estimate. He offered a 5% discount for Angieslist customer, as well as another 5% for paying the service in cash. The first day of instal occurred approximately 2-3 days after estimate was given. 7 or 8 guys came in the first day and immediately went to work moving our appliances and covering our cabinets to protect them. Throughout the project, they cleaned up after themselves every day and worked from around 8am to 5pm. It took them a full week to complete the job. They let me test the stain on the floor to help me decide what color we wanted. They put down 3 coats of polyurethane to help protect the floors. When it was all over, the floors looked great and it was done in a timely manner, especially considering the size of the job. Felix was always willing to answer questions when I had them and told me what kind of new hardwood we should install in the family room and kitchen. I've been complemented many times on how great the floors look. If I had any complaints, the only one would be that some of the stain got on the white painted runner up the stairs that I had to touch up, but this was very minimal. Overall, they did a great job for a fair price and I would recommend them to anyone who wanted to install or refinish their floors.

He told me several times that he could do this job within one week before I hired him. After he began the job, he pointed out that it is simply impossible to do this job in less than two weeks. On top of that, the workers splashed stain over the risers of the stairs and the baseboards throughout the front of the house. Personally, it isn't that it takes two weeks to finish this sort of job that bothers me. What upsets me the most is that I was assured that the job would be done within one week-despite my skepticism. If they had simply told me that this could take between one and two weeks, I would have been fine with that and would have planned for it.

The floors look very nice and we liked him a lot! He was good at communicating and he was on time.

The Mr Felix team was outstanding. Felix arrived for the estimate promptly. The price was competitive with other quotes when you factor in materials, etc. Felix and his crew arrived promptly to install the floors, and did exactly what he said he would do. His team was always on time and finished the job when he said he would. Mr Felix installs unfinished wood and finishes it on site. The result is beautiful, and it is a mirror smooth finish. The work is outstanding. I would definitely hire them again.

Mr Felix removed carpeting from the great room, dining room, 3 bedrooms and the hallway. He also removed carpeting from the stairs to the basement and tore out the fiberboard treads, replacing them with hardwood. Then, he also installed hardwood floors in the great room, dining room, three bedrooms, and the hall. In addition, he refinished the floors in the kitchen and entry, and stained everything to match. Later, Alex came back to tear out the tile in front of the fireplace and installed hardwood and stained it to match.

Wonderful ! Mr Felix and his staff are perfectionists and would answer all my questions. Our floor was unique as carpet was removed the floor was laid and then had to be stained to match and transition to remaining floors. We are anxious to get the rest of the floor refinished to mach his work !

I had pre-finished hardwood floors put in two bedrooms. The size of the boards didn't match the rest of the floors in the house, but the color was a good match, so I agreed to continue the job. I didn't like the workers at all. They didn't greet me nor speak to me all day. There was no eye-contact at all and I heard them arguing with each other in a foreign language. They were also supposed to move the furniture back into the room (I'd moved it out) and they only did so after I told them they HAD to. It was their attitude that upset me-- they reacted as if I'd asked them to clean my toilets! It was done silently and resentfully. The workmanship was pretty good, to be honest, but when I asked for a couple of scraps to keep (for color and matching) I was refused without explanation, and they left. Silently.

The estimate was almost half of estimates from other companies like rite rug. The product is good quality. The instillation went smoothly; they even took the time to put little pads underneath my furniture so the floors wouldn't be scratched.

Overall I am very pleased with the quality of the work Mr. Felix did as especially the timeliness with which they did it. I was pretty amazed with the amount of work they could do in the little amount of time (pretty much finished the entire house in 4 days). The color matched exactly what we had chosen and they made some of the rougher areas of our floors look brand new. Mr. Felix isn't the lowest priced around, but the pricing is competitive and for the efficiency they displayed it was definitely worth the money. They also move all the large furniture for you which is a nice perk. My only real complaint has to do with the conditions of the baseboards / shoe mold after the work was complete. Felix mentioned they would have to remove the existing shoe mold and replace it with new. He also mentioned I may need to do some "touch up" once the new shoe mold was replaced. In reality the baseboards are pretty much beat to h*** and require a full re-painting so if you have a similar situation I would make sure to factor this in to the cost of your floor refinishing. They also did not sand the risers on my stairs so I had to hire a separate painter to come out and do that work. I knew that going in, so not really a complaint -- just more of an FYI to other potential customers.

He was timely and professional and he did an excellent job as usual. This is the 2nd time I have Mr Felix to change my floors. As usual beautiful floors and quick and excellent job by his team.

My floor looks great! I contacted Felix after a previous contractor had done a very poor job on refinishing and repairing my floor. Felix was out my house very quickly and provided a very reasonable estimate to correct what was done. After the crew had finished the floor looked better than it ever had. You can't even tell that someone had messed them up before. Great job!!

This was the 3rd time we have used Mr. Felix and I really don't have one bad thing I could say about them. Always show up on time - do the job - clean everything up and go. Wish everyone worked like this.

After putting unfinished heardwood floors, we requested that we have a high gloss finish and he was convinced that he gave us the high gloss finish. I am not happy with the floors there is hardly any gloss.

Based on seeing the Angie's List award graphic on the company's website, I gave them a call to schedule a time for a quote. The phone was answered promptly and I was told the owner of the business would call me back later that day. He did not call back that day. When he finally called, I scheduled an appointment for early the following week and both my wife and I took time off work to meet the owner for the quote. The owner did not show up. 45 minutes after the appointment time, I called the number listed on the company website and no one answered even though it was before 5pm. I left a message asking why he had been a no-call-no-show for the quote appointment. The owner didn't call back until a week later. He left as message asking me to call him back on his cell. I called him back later that same day and no one answered. Again, I left a message that was never returned. Obviously, if he can't even make it to a quote or return calls in less than a week, there's no way we're trusting this guy to do work.

They were really good. They were on time and got it completed on time.

Mr. Felix Floor was a little bit more expensive than the other quotes, but I felt that he completely understood what we were trying to accomplish and I was confident that his estimate would not waiver. Additionally, he included the cost of the hardwood flooring in his estimate which some other companies did not. After a couple of weeks where either side was on vacation, his team came in and began work. The crew of about 8 people were very professional and courteous throughout. They removed all carpet, padding, tack strips, and existing linoleum in the first half of the day and had installed new flooring throughout the house by the end of day 1. Sanding was completed in the next 2 days and the crew took good care to limit the amount of dust that went throughout the house by sealing off areas and furniture with plastic sheets. The flooring looked like it had all been installed new after sanding which was impressive given the amount of scratches and dings that the existing floor had accumulated over 7 years. Staining was done the next two days and polyurethane was applied 3 times before the crew began installing the new shoe mold. The entire job was wrapped up in just over a week which was impressive given the amount of work involved. The crew definitely takes pride in their work and Felix does a great job of providing detailed and thorough estimates. I would recommend and hire again in a heartbeat.

Got two quotes and we went with Felix who did a good job of demonstrating that he was knowledgeable and he gave a quote that made more sense than the other company's which seemed incomplete. We did have a mix-up about what day the work would start but that may have been partly my own fault since that starting date discussion just went on via email. When I called him on that day he did stop by and assured me that they would come the next day and they did. We didn't really know what to say about the stain color except to say that it should be something like what we had. Felix arranged for a sample on the sanded floor that was a little bit different and very much better than the look we had. I was very happy for that help in picking a color that we could be confident would look good. The work did take a little bit longer than expected, 4 days. But, the end result is beautiful and the floor now shows a lot more character because the stain shows off the wood grain so nicely. I also appreciated that he talked to us about hardwood floor care and helped set us up for success that way, making sure we got felt on the furniture, since with the old floor having been in bad shape when we moved in we had not developed good habits.
