Country Painting

I called and left a message with the company on 4/9/2013 to have them come to the house to give us a quote for exterior house painting. We needed labor only as my husband works for a paint company and could supply all the paint. We made an appointment for 4/11/2013 at 6:00 PM. They were late and the man that came, seemed like he was in a hurry to get in and get out. He wrote down no information, took a couple of photos, walked around the house, asked no questions, and then told me he would give the information to his brother and someone would get back with us. He was at our home less than 10 minutes and left. We never heard back from them again. I called and left messages on their answering machine, asking for follow up. It has been more than a month since that onsite visit and they have never followed up with us at all. The entire experience was very unprofessional and disappointing, to say the least, and I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Initially the individual who came to quote the project was very professional and personable. His prices were competitive. However, on the day the services were to be completed, he arrived with his teenage son. When I am paying for professional services, I expect experienced professionals to do the work...not a 14 year old. The quality was poor as the trim around the windows and woodwork was very sloppy. They also left a considerable mess of debris and dust claiming they had forgot their vacuum. Very disappointing.

One of the owners came out a few weeks prior to do a walk around, and talk about the services to be performed. We agreed on the prices and services, and were put on the schedule for completion. They came out with their crew, and completed the job in several days. A week later, one of the owners returned to do a walk-around to make sure we were satisfied with the results. We did find a couple of places that were missed with the paint, and he pulled a brush and paint out of his truck, and touched up the spots that needed it. Do: Buy some roll plastic and cover your delicate plants. There were a couple of places where there was some overspray on bushes, mulch, and the side of our house that I didn't notice until much later. Also, there were significant paint chips laying everywhere from the power washing, and I had to collect them to keep them away from my dogs.

I had an estimate done about three weeks before work was performed. Mike Riley did the estimate. He was very professional and friendly. After having a couple of estimates done. Decided to use Country Painting. They were not the cheapest, but I have learned not to use the cheapest because 4 out of 5 times it is a mistake. Next I scheduled an appointment and had the job done. On the day of the job, Mike and sons, nephew arrived when they said they would. They moved my furniture to center of room and covered with plastic. Before hand I removed most of my pictures and emptied my bookshelf. I also boxed up my knick knacks etc. I did all this before hand so I didn't have to worry about anything getting broken. The guys started at 9:00 a.m. took a lunch and finished the job around 3:00 p.m. They also left unused paint. I checked over the work later in the day. I did see a few things that I did not like. There was white ceiling paint on my kitchen table and some drops on my cabinets. I also noticed white paint on my end tables. Later I noticed some areas on the walls that were not covered. However, Mike stopped by my house and I told him of the areas that were not covered and he came back a couple days later and touched up and painted the areas that were missed. Overall I was very please with the work performed and will use them again.

The service received from the beginning to the finish of the project was fantastic! Joe Riley worked with us on multiple quotes (we decided after the first quote to replace our windows which changed the cost). We were completely satisfied with the final quote and moved forward with the work. His team was very meticulous and paid attention to every detail. They cleaned up their work areas around the exterior efficiently. I really appreciate their excellent customer service - we are planning on using this company again for interior painting needs in the future.

Country Painting was a pleasure to work with. We were delayed in starting due to some issues but Joe (one of the owners) was always good to keep in touch with us and started as soon as we were able. We were fortunate to have such mild weather so late in the year and Country Painting was able to get the job done before winter really started. There were two workers - the same each day - that are full-time employees and not just subcontracted seasonal workers. They were prompt, hard-working, clean and courteous. As far as pricing, they were in the middle of the pack but lived up to everything they promised. We were very pleased and would not hesitate to use them again.

It went very well. They arrived on time each day. They worked the entire day, and cleaned up after themselves each afternoon before they left. They were quiet and efficient while they worked. My husband and I work from home, so I expected some interruption with the chaos of painting all the walls. Even with the furniture clustered in the middle of the room and shrouded to keep it safe from drips, there was no problem. We worked at our jobs. The Rileys worked at their job. In the time they estimated to be done, they were done.

I got quotes from Country Painting as well as several othe local painters. Owen was very responsive to my request and made an appointment to do an estimate. Once we had all our estimates we found he was very competitive in his proposal. He worked with us to answer our questions, make sure we knew exactly what to expect and discuss price. Once we made our decision Owen scheduled the job ASAP. Once it began, he once again explained what would happen and called everyday at the end of the day to review the progress. The workers were diligent and accomodating to my wife's concern regarding any potential mess. The work proceeded uneventfully. Owen was also very flexible when faced with a couple late developing requests. No problem he said, issue resolved. During the final walk-through he explained what they had done and the warranty information. This was an excellent experience for us. No Drama!

Joe Riley was prompt in coming out to complete the estimate. His estimate for the work to be done was quite reasonable. He does not use contractors and his crew was on time, clean, courteous. The job took 3 days, and everything was cleaned up before they left. Mr. Riley came back out the next day to confirm the job was done to our satisfaction.

Country Painting provided an estimate which was fair, reasonable and comprehensive. Joe's view of the work to be done matched ours; we did not have to add anything. Moreover, we received a thorough description of how the work was to be done. Attention to detail seemed paramount. Kudos to Joe; he was the only estimator who noticed the woodpecker's handiwork. This simple notice indicated for us attention to detail was not just talk. A final factor in our decision to use Country Painting was one of three co-owner/brothers would always be available. Thanks to dry weather, Country Painting was ahead of schedule. When we returned from vacation, the pressure wash had already been done by Joe. It was very thorough as several layers of "failing" paint/stain were removed, in some places down to bare cedar. To complete this phase of the prep., Everett and Dennis spent considerable time scraping. They also thoroughly caulked the wood and made wood repairs as necessary. Where cedar was replaced, they primed (a first!). Everett and Dennis were very conscience and meticulous in their work. It has been said that the secret to a quality paint job is prep. I cannot say enough about the prep. It shows. Our house looks great! Everett and Dennis were friendly, courteous and reliable. Impressively, they steadily and diligently worked in the oppressive heat. They did a fantastic job. Moreover, Joe and his brother Mike responsive.

We enjoyed dealing with this family-owned business. Very professional. At first they thought it would be late July before they could fit us in, but they called and were able to do the pressure washing on June 29, and followed up the next week with the painting. They called ahead and let us know about the accelerated schedule. They accepted no money until the job was complete and they were sure (after a walk-through) that we were satisfied. We highly recommend them.

Joe came on a Wednesday and power washed the stucco. Due to bad weather, the actual painting couldn't start until the following Monday (yesterday). Mike showed up with his younger brother. Mike started setting up the sprayers while his brother removed the downspouts. They both started spraying the house. Due to power problems with the sprayer, they had to reduce to one spray gun. When they were 95% done with the first coating, the spray compressor shut down. After repeated attempts to get the compressor working, Mike ended up going out to rent a machine. By the time they were all set up again, it was too late to complete a second coat on the whole house. They did get a second coat on the largest side, and the piece above the garage completed. They were here bright and early this morning to complete the work. They finished putting on the second coat, reinstalled the downspouts, cleaned up, and were gone by 11 am.

They did a very good job. They were very nice and polite. The price was good.

The estimate process seemed great. We called to place the order in July via phone - or should i say message left for them. Communication with us was very poor thrugh out the process. We would leave messages checking on status and wouldn't hear back from Owen. When we did hear we would be told they would be out the next week and then not see them. Yes it was a rainy summer so we understood the impact that would have on their scheduling. Didn't explain the lack of communication. House was painted in October but when I asked about the front door component I was then told their person they sub out for that moved out fo state. They hired an excellent person to do the work,but it took until December to get the front door done. We never got any of the calls others mention about following up - I called to ask for update on front door and mentioned the missing caulking in areas. Owen came out one day and chaulked the spots with a none matching color. Due to all the hassles Owen cut the payment until the front door was done. He took his $2000 (original estimate was $3210 minus 25% = $2405) and we never heard from him again. The house looks good, except for the chaulking areas, but the process was frustrating.

Joe Reiley came to give an estimate for painting the exterior of my house. He was friendly, described how the work would be done, and gave suggestions. He never sent the estimate that he promised, and he did not respond to my calls.

Owen Riley was very pleasant to work with. He provided the initial estimate and was here daily to oversee the work. Owen and his guys did a fantastic job with great attention to detail. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Went very well, the start date was delayed several weeks but that was due to weather issues and outside their control. They did a great job and got it completed on time. We added the storm windows after they had started and they painted all those for us as well and charged us a very reasonable amount for the additional work. They did a GREAT job cleaning up all the paint chips and paint they scraped off the house and trim.

The owner came out a few days prior of staining to power wash the areas that needed it. Crew was on time each day the weather allowed. The owner was out checking on progress at least once per day. All of my concerns were addressed and my home looks great!
