Country Painting

They worked in a timely and professional manner. They gave us good, honest advice. The workers were trustworthy and competent.

After getting a glowing reference from my parents, I immediately called Joe (co-owner with his brother). Really nice on phone and in person during estimate. However, I never received the estimate (even after a few follow up calls). Guess they are doing so well they don't need the business (and/or they don't do pre-1970 houses). Either way, hope you have better luck than me.

After 25% discount from mailer, price was less than competitors. Crew of 3 to 4 guys worked hard for roughly a day and a half to get job done. They took care moving and protecting furniture. Overall job was fine. We have noticed some paint splatters on bathroom counters, fixtures and light switches.

Joe Riley and his team did an excellent job. Beginning with the estimate communication was handled promptly and completely. Country painters started and finished the project when they said they would. In comparisons to other quotes, Country Painting offered and provided more then any other painter. I didn't ask for the door leading from the house into the Florida room to be painted but they considered it exterior and painted it anyway. When they had finished the project the clean up was so good I could not tell they had been there.

It went great! I asked Joe to come by early August to give me an estimate. He had worked on a neighbor's home and I liked the results. I was comfortable with the estimate and scheduled for mid-September. NOTE: Joe would not take a dime until the job was completed. On September 10th, Joe called to confirm dates and sent his crew on Friday, September 12th, to power wash my home and drop of some ladders. Then, the following Monday afternoon they started painting. A little rain started falling around 4pm, so the crew took a break. By 6pm, they were back on the ladders and worked until dark. On Tuesday, they showed up at 9am and worked until dark. By Wednesday morning, they replaced my freshly painted gutters, did some touch-up and were done by 2pm. Alex, the lead painter, was extremely professional and his crew was top notch. Joe set-up an appointment with me to check on the work and, since we were both satisfied, I paid him in full.

We selected Country Painting based on their professional quote, friendly and quick responses to our questions and concerns and flexibility in terms of scheduling. The end product was amazing! The quality of the paint job was fantastic. There were no brush lines and the workers spackled the walls prior to painting so everything looked so smooth and professional

Last year, I read reviews on the list and chose 5 companies. All of them provided the same estimates for scope of work, here are the bids. Integrity Painting - $5810, Buckeye House Painting-$4700, Fresh Touch-$4000, George Beyer Painting-$3375, Country Painting-$3350. I went with Joe Riley of Country Painting for two reasons, one was the fact that my neighbors used them and George didn't quote board replacement. He said, "We can tack it on at the end," but no price was given. Since the beginning of the painting season (May) I was bumped week to week, until the day finally arrived. The painters showed up at 10:30 am and wrapped up at 5 pm. They didn't do much painting, Joe Riley, said they were short a spray gun. The next day, the weather man called for rain, but it didn't rain. They came the following day and painted most of it, finishing the following day. Joe wanted payment before completing the punch out list, but I wanted ALL of the work to be finished before paying. Items on the punch list: remove paint from the bricks (siding meets brick on the front, paint was dripped onto bricks, sloppy workmanship), remove overspray on backdoor window and knob (again, sloppy), remove paint drips on windows, and a couple of caulking issues. Overall, the house looks great, Joe recommended the stucco color and was spot on! Communication was excellent, they fixed all my complaints. I was hoping Country Painting would exceed my expectations and I'd use them for interior work, but with the lack of attention to detail, I will not use them again.

Sent an email request for an estimate, received a call on a Tuesday, set up an appointment for Friday, arranged to have someone home during the day to meet with the estimator, no show, no call, no follow up, never heard from them again.

Mike was always willing to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. In the end we were very pleased with the results. The crews were a bit messy and disorganized but otherwise as I said, the end result was very good.

Professional team - meticulous work. Very happy with the results and would use them again.

Worst experience we have ever had with a company. 1. Did not bring a generator. Used our power. 2. Painters urinating in the yard. 3. Painted the trim the wrong shade of white. Even though we paid (which was rebated at the time of sale) for a consultant to pick a color palette for us. 4. Only painted the 2nd level trim once. We complained. He never came back. 5. We were promised a walk around to review quality and address any issues. Never happened. 6. We were promised that the house wood trim would be painted as is - "what is white will be white" he told us. Instead they took the easy way out. Painted only the front of the wood trim white. All of the edges of the trim board were painted the main stucco house color. 7. Rolled the stain on the deck without brushing the stain between the deck boards. You could see the raw wood on the edges of the decking. They did come back and stain in between the boards. 8. Painted the rubber seal around the garage door on one door. Did not paint the door seal on the single door. Actually painted the large garage door shut. I had to cut them open. Bottom line, complete lack of integrity.

I have used this contractor in the past and they performed well. Good overall quality, very responsive and work hard to to be sure you are satisfied.

I worked with Joe, who was one of the owners. The first thing you notice about Joe is that he is extremely enthusiastic about their business. That was very important to me, because people who have a lot of pride in what they do tend to do a better job. Of the three quotes I recieved, Riley's was the middle quote, but they were still willing to come down on price. They were extremely timely in showing up to do the work, sent extra crews to get the exterior done before it got too cold, and generally did an excellent job on my exterior paint. Joe was frequently on site, personally, to review the work being done. Since I was so happy with the work that Joe's company did on the outside of my home, I hired him in March to paint a large portion of my home's interior. It involved multiple colors as well as wood work touch ups. The craftmanship was, again, excellent. With any large paint job, there will be small details or imperfections that may show up later. Joe told me to look through the house, and if I found any touch ups or imperfections they would come back and fix them free of charge. Although there were few things to fix, he came back today to do a review of the work and schedule the touch up. I've hired him twice and I would hire him again.

They were very punctual and really. It only took a few days. However, they left a lot of dust, do not sparkle all dents in the walls, and the biggest issue-paint on a lot of trim, wood work and fixtures.

There were repeated postponements until the job would need to be cancelled because of a previously scheduled vacation. The threatened cancellation got the work started, but led to leaving only 1 day to do the job instead of 2, which meant the second coat of paint was applied in the afternoon of the same day as the first coat. I had requested the entire inside of the garage be primed because of extensive bare spots from prepping. It was only spot primed. I also requested the exterior grade paint be used on the interior of the garage, but interior grade was used instead. It took a very long time (almost 3 weeks) for the paint to dry enough to replace shelving and wall hooks in the garage without marring the walls. I believe this was due to not leaving enough time between coats of paint. Instructions on the paint can recommended a day be allowed between applying coats of paint. Also, corrosion and rust are beginning to bleed through the paint around some dry wall nail heads. I believe this is due to inadequate priming. The outside painting of the trim seems to be satisfactory but because of the severeness of this winter, I am withholding final judgement until the weather turns warmer.

Joe Riley came out and gave us an estimate for the exterior paint job. He also suggested we paint our gutters and downspouts the same color, I was reluctant to do this as others had not recommended. He was very detailed and also assured me he could fix the rotted out wood before they painted. I was impressed with his estimate and the fact that they warranty the work for two years. He also indicated he would be competitive with pricing if there was a significant price difference. We hired Joe and his his crew. It was a great experience. The crew was very good and they treated the job like it was their house. They even replaced the rotted wood twice, it rained on the piece they were going to replace and they didn't want to use a wet piece of cedar! As for the gutters and the downspouts, they look great! So glad we went with the recommendation! Since we were one of the last houses they painted before winter, Joe has suggested we take a close look at the paint job this spring and call them back if there are any patches that need repainted or touched up.

Mike Riley, co-owner, was very responsive and professional. The job had to be done "on the spur of the moment", he gave me an estimate that same day and he got it done a day earlier than anticipated. He came every day (more than once) to check on the work being done and the day after they were finished to do a walk-thru with me to make sure I was happy with it. Also offered to come back and fix up any areas the carpet layers marked up. I will definitely use them again.

This job was executed with excellence from start to finish. We changed the color of our house, and it looks beautiful. Joe Riley and his painters were all nice to work with. It was a pleasure to do business with them!

We had an excellent experience with Country Painting and their staff. Weather was not cooperative for our start day, but Joe was in touch and worked their schedule accordingly. The power washing crew came on Saturday to make up for the weather delay. The guys addressed the little things that I questioned through the process to be sure I was satisfied. Joe helped color match an area around our porch, it needed to be the color of our stucco. He was right on. The job they did was thorough and precise. It was a smooth and easy experience and we would certainly recommend them.

We met Country Painting at one of the Home Shows. In March, Mike Riley came out and wrote up a very through estimate to do a complete exterior painting of our home which we recently purchased. He explained everything in detail, and what was to be included. After receiving a few other estimates I decided to let Country Painting do the job. A few days prior to starting the job the entire house was pressure washed. After drying out the process began with them taping and sealing all windows and caulking all needed areas. The house was spray painted and then rolled out to make sure all areas got a nice coat. Two coats of paint were applied with the choice of brand and color of our choosing. We were having a little difficulty with picking the trim color, but after speaking to Mike he suggested we go to Sherwin- Williams and meet with their colorist. I am so glad we did, as she was able to coordinate the colors for us. The job turned out excellent with only a few delays due to all the rain. Mike's guys were punctual each day, worked all day and did everything that was asked of them. The house looks beautiful, and we invite anyone to see it. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the work.

Sent 2 emails and called, but got no response. Won't try again.

The entire process went smoothly from beginning to end. Phone calls were returned promptly and we were kept informed of any delays due to weather. The painters were great in speech and actions. They even accommodated my change of mind as to garage door color(after the first color was on the door) without any complaint! They did a superb job of painting and cleaned up the area when they were done. Thank you Country Painting for a job well done!

I am a previous customer. Made four attempts for a quote; Made two web requests for quote and two phone calls; and, in addition spoke to Joe Riley twice with promises to come out (one..saying he'd be out that day) and no estimate. Coost me two weeks...on a small project.

Work was completed to my satisfaction.
