I called 1st Response several weeks ago because I saw a mouse and it's the time of the year when pests tend to come in from the cold. I was able to schedule a visit very quickly and Jay (the owner) quickly put together a plan to get rid of the mice and maintain a pest-free home. It seems like an expensive solution (equal to $50/month) but I don't have much of a benchmark. So far, so good! It seems that we got our wires crossed in terms of scheduling, because Jay's initial and follow up visits weren't in his calendar. Nonetheless, he quickly made it right and most importantly the work is first-class. I referred Jay to my neighbor who has been experiencing the same issues.

They were able to take care of our yellow jacket problem the same day that we called them. Our serviceman was professional, prompt, courteous and accommodating. Thanks for a great experience!

I originally called and got an estimate and scheduled someone to come out to set a trap to catch my groundhog. I then had to reschedule for various reasons. They were very accommodating and came when scheduled. The trap was set on a Monday. Later that day, I looked out and saw the groundhog in the trap -- while I was watching he turned around and walked out of the trap. I promptly called 1st Response and they said they would have someone come out the next morning to check the trap. They came as promised and swapped the traps. It's possible the groundhog did not walk far enough in to trigger the door. It took a week before the groundhog went near it again, but when the dog alerted me that we had caught something. I called and they were out within an hour to remove the trap and groundhog. They were great to work with and I would definitely use them again. But I hope I don't have to :)

They did a great job. They did as much as they could the first day and then came back finished the second day. They were able to come out when we needed them to come out. I would recommend them to others.

Overall great experience, always on time, and feel very comfortable with them in my home.

We had ants that were coming up through the back of our pantry and we couldn't locate where they were entering the house. Jay put down gel bait for the ants and sprayed the outside of the house. We had been spraying the outside for a couple of weeks ourselves with no luck. After Jay was here, they were gone within the day. We didn't need additional spraying either. I liked the service so much that I signed a contract to have quarterly spraying done. We've been very pleased with this service to date.

I asked them about a preventative program and Jay, the guy who came out was very informative. His preventative program included more than any other services. Their plan includes anything on my grounds, not just my house and garage and they are the only company to have that. They were competitive price wise. I saved about $75 upfront with them compared to what the other companies charged. They came when they said they would. They accommodated, they were very timely in their work. I was well pleased and I would absolutely use them again.

We were very pleased with the professionalism and service performed by this company. The customer service was top notch right from our first phone call. Services were delivered on time and we have yet to see a single ant since treatment.

1st Response was the only one out of five companies that could come on the same day that I called. Their representative was personable and represented his company very well. I wouldn't mind having him there if I was away at work. I'll use 1st Response for my next pest problem.

They were very responsive. They want to talk to you about what they did so they will call and talk to you. They are very thorough. I felt the price was reasonable. They were very sensitive and explained everything about what and what not to do.

I called and scheduled an appointment when I discovered what looked like carpenter ants in the house. Jay came out, asked lots of questions about the location and quantity of ants, investigated both inside and outside of the house, applied some gel bait to active areas, sprayed around the entire house and driveway, and explained what was going on to me. He decided to send someone out the following week to put down another application to make sure the ants were eradicated. Jay was very knowledgeable and professional. About a month later (after the two applications), I noticed several ants inside the house and on the deck. I called 1st Response, and Jay came out again. He did another investigation and this time used a different treatment product. He again explained to me everything that was happening. Jay was extremely nice to work with. He showed a genuine interest in making sure the ants were eliminated, and he asked me to contact him in two weeks if I saw any more signs of the tenacious critters. The office staff was also very pleasant and professional. Scheduling the original and follow-up appointments was quick and easy.

In early May, I contacted 1st Response about wasps and ants in my home. They were very courteous from the moment I talked to them on the phone. They were very prompt at responding to my initial phone call. They were also on time for our appointment. They treated my home for the ants and wasps, which I haven't seen since. In June, I noticed some silverfish and they came out right away to treat for them. They even helped us remove our cats from the basement before treating the area. I decided to try their contract for a year to keep control of insects in the fall.

He was very prompt and came by to spray the house. I haven't seen any bugs since! The price of 430 dollars is for one year of service.

It went very well. I would definitely have Jay out again and again for maintenance for years to come no matter if we move or not! He will be on our speed dial!! Thanks Jay for keeping the bugs outside where they belong!!

One day I went to do our laundry. A window with a curtain was located over the washing machine. I noticed a few "flying insects" so I pulled the curtain out. Hundreds of "flying insects" emerged. I yelled for my husband. He grabbed a mini tank-vac. While I tried to vacuum up the insects, he went outside and sprayed the only pesticide we could find. We got most of them. I then hung duct tape up from a light and sealed the wooden window with duct tape as well. The next day I called Jay at First Response. Jay had done excellent work for us a year earlier for a carpenter ant problem. I described the problem to Jay and he immediately knew what the problem was. He gave me thorough info over the phone. He came out promptly to assess the problem and indeed it was termites. He explained in detail the chemical he would use, that it wouldn't harm our children or pets and described exactly how he would apply the pesticide. He was able to come out in a timely manner and made sure we were contacted when the application had to be delayed due to inclement weather. Jay also offered a warranty on the treatment. Spending $1200 on a bug removal was a difficult thing to do but we knew it had to be done. Jay even told us about the 10% discount coupon that he had on Angie's List. We have total faith in Jay. He is personable, honest, well-informed and most accommodating. We would call him again or refer him in a heartbeat. Thanks Jay!

It was a great experience. Jay explained that he could treat the exterior of the house to kill any pests and prevent any future pests from getting in. The treatment kills not only bees and wasps, but ants and spiders, etc.

It went very well and I feel Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and honest in his assessment and service offerings. He collected all the clues and symptoms I had witnessed and in the end truly felt we did not have a current infestation problem of any kind. He offered a treatment schedule plan for insects and understood my own interest in spraying Spring and Fall as I had for years. We agreed to a one-time extensive spraying around all exterior top to bottom, the pool area, and remove all bee nests from eaves, overhangs, and roof hat vents. He even placed two mice traps in the garage free of charge just because he thought it would be a great way for us to have peace of mind. This was a great move on his part because we had not even thought mice at all and after he mentioned it as a possibility but then recanting that they probably weren't present, the traps were a great method to ease our minds as a customer.

Jay responded to my email inquiry. Also when I spoke to him on the phone he gave me confidence he could resolve my issue where other exterminators had told me to just pick up products to treat the issue myself. He was on time for the appt. He inspected the insects and the home very closely but before starting treatments wanted to identify the insect to ensure that he used the proper treatment. He took a sample of the insects. Once identified, he came back later the same day to set traps. He also thoroughly inspected the home to determine the route cause. Jay informed me to give the traps a week to work and that he would return in a week to spray the entire house as preventive maintenance. In a week Jay returned on time to reinspect the situation and complete the final spray of the house. He is personable, knowledgeable and truly cares about resolving the situation occurring. I will use Jay on a go forward basis for normal exterminating treatments.

I used several traps to catch moles in my yard for about two weeks or so, but I could not catch any of them. I called several pest control/exterminating companies for estimates. 1st Response Pest Management was the most reasonable price compared to other companies. Mr. Neff, owner, was very nice and explained to me how he was going to get rid of moles. He used Talprids in mounds/trails where the moles were active. The service was guaranteed for 60 days and the owner kept in touch with me every two weeks to let me know how the treatment was coming along and what he was doing. After while I have noticed that my yard was back to normal and no more mole mounds. Thank goodness for the service of 1st Response Pest Management and Talprids!

Very quick response. Out within 24 hours of my phone call and friendly. Very thorough, explained how mice may be getting in the house and baited and set traps. Followed up with phone call week later to see if mice have been caught. Now on schedule for follow up appointments. Will definitely recommend.

I called 1st response frantic, Spoke with Jay Neff-owner, he completely reassured me he would take care of the problem. He scheduled an appt. right away. came out the next day. He was wonderful,he got right on top of the mice issue, I do not like anything crawling on my floors. Jay really took the time and explained how he was going to get rid of the mice. He even came out (3-4) times after the initial appt. and disposed of the deceased mice. Jay goes above and beyond to assist his clients. We are so happy to have found his company. We have no more mice issues, or bug problems. If your looking for an expert and nice person to work with, Jay 1st response, is the company to go with. We are 150% completely satisfied with his work. He also has programs that will protect your home for the whole year. We will definitely continue to work with him in the near future.

We have Jay Neff from 1st Response come out every year to spray for bugs on our interior and exterior. Our house is 2 years old, and we have some really big spiders, but when Jay comes out, they are all taken care of !! We have him come out twice a year for a preventative maintenance. This company is the best that Columbus has to offer!!!

They've been prompt, courteous, very conscious about my pets. They've done a good job for me.
