They did a great job from start to finish.

This company was excellent from the very first call to the actual service. I called two super service award companies and this one was by far the best in terms of phone service. Lisa, who answered the phone, was very knowledgeable and was able to ask me very specific questions in terms of the problems we were experiencing. I was also able to express my concern that I didn't want to kill every insect outside - I'm just tired of the amount this year inside. She was able to give me options!! And she was able to give me rough estimates based upon our square footage. This was especially nice given the amount of time it could take to have multiple companies out to give estimates. When I spoke to the other company the phone person simply wasn't willing to discuss anything without coming out for an estimate which to me was valuable time. I did schedule an appointment for an estimate but after thinking about the vast difference in service over the phone, I chose 1st Response. They came within 2 days. Jay, the owner came to treat the inside of the home and they were able to give me a 1 hour time window. Also a very pleasant surprise. That particular day ended up being a bit hectic and I had a car issue to attend to at the exact same time Jay arrived. He was very accommodating, thankfully, and I said I'd return in about 10 minutes. I left him at my home, and returned in about 10 minutes. To my surprise he was complete with the indoor treatment. It was quick because we don't have any clutter and don't store much in our basement. He brought in the paperwork and explained what was done. The exterior treatment was done the next day. At the time he could tell I was a little dissapointed because I didn't know it would be a day until the exterior would be treated. I had spent some time that morning on our problematic rear porch area washing all of the spiderwebs down and using a magic eraser to clean the white siding. I was very happy that he went outside to spray that area so the webs wouldn't accumulate overnight. It's been a week since the treatment and there are lots of dead bugs outside (mostly rear door/patio area) that was most problematic. We haven't seen the spiders and millipedes in the house and are very happy. I called today to sign up for fall treatment. They were very professional and easy to work with. I'd highly recommend this company.

I had to be home for the indoor treatment of the ants. I made sure they came back to retreat the kitchen because once was not enough. They did not charge me for having to return. We did purchase a year-long outdoor treatment. We had not had a professional pest control company in a number of years, so I think it was time. I don't believe they guarantee silverfish or centipede removal. My daughter still sees those occasionally upstairs in her bathroom and bedroom.

Jay, the company's owner, came out with another guy, and walked through the house. He did a very thorough visual inspection of the bed and bedroom, that yielded absolutely no evidence of bed bugs. Although he agreed that the 30+ bites I had were suspicious, he was in no way pushy or alarmist about us treating for bed bugs--in fact, he was the opposite. He wrote up two estimates for us, one each for chemical treatment and heat treatment. However, since they weren't convinced we had the bed bugs, he helped coordinate an appointment with another company with which he contracts (Bed Bug Inspector) that does canine inspection. Jay took care of arranging payment through 1st Response (instead of us paying Bed Bug Inspector directly), and the cost was $50 less than he told us it would be; it ended up being $100 before tax. Lee, from Bed Bug Inspector, came later that day with his beagle, Daisy. She never gave any indication of bed bugs after going through the house twice. Lee offered to come back in a couple days free of charge just to double check, since Daisy had had a long day before seeing us. He came back two days later and reinspected, still finding nothing. Although we were stunned to find out we didn't have bed bugs, we were of course also relieved. We've since figured out what was causing the bites. When I called 1st Response to let them know we did not need treatment, they seemed genuinely happy for us! I inquired about the bill for having Lee come over, and Lisa said she'd let me know. She called back the other day to say the bill is in the mail, and that if we ever do need treatment, the $100 we pay now for the Bed Bug Inspector will go toward the treatment cost in the future! I can't recommend this company strongly enough. I never felt pressure from them. It would have been VERY easy for them to mislead us--we were prepared for the worst, and willing to do whatever we needed to do to get rid of the bugs. If they had said we had them, we would have been ready to pay the very high prices for treatment then and there. However, their professionalism, honesty, and integrity is of the highest caliber. I will absolutely call them again for any pest management needs that might come up!

It went well, they sprayed and said if this didn't do it (we had a new drain fly) that was hanging around, we should call them back. I called them back a few weeks later and said we still saw a few and they were out within a few days. Following this spray we started to hear some noises in the basement/basement walls and Scott came out and looked around. He found some mice droppings and baited a trap for us. He also gave me some more insight on the drain fly's. I poured bleach down the basment drain, so hopefully that helps. They were very quick to respond and helpful! He was very helpful!

Jay (the owner) came out and sprayed around the house for ants, including a large ant hill in the backyard. He also dusted some holes in our deck made by carpenter bees. One week after that, another employee came to spray the entire house. He also hit the ant hill because the first treatment didn't get rid of them. We are very happy with the result. The ants and bees are all gone, and we haven't seen many bugs at all in or around the house.

I decided to call 1st Response after discovering that my sizable garden (from which I eat all summer) was being raided nightly by local fauna. I had seen a groundhog out there the size of a bus, I swear, and thought s/he was the source of the problem. Chris, from 1st Response, showed up with a Havaheart live trap and patiently taught me how to bait and set it (and also how to open it to free any critters I didn't want the company to take away). After about a week, I caught 4 raccoons (one a baby--very cute, but watch those teeth and claws!) and 2 opossums, and freed them all, as there is a $65 charge for each animal removed. My hope is that they've learned a lesson after spending a night in a trap and will now stay away. No groundhog, though. Then I spoke with a neighbor who admitted she had put out a salt block for deer, which are normally very rare here in the western part of Whitehall. Deer will travel miles to a salt lick! I asked her to PLEASE remove the salt block, and the problem has now (at least so far) resolved. Chris from 1st Response came out and picked up the trap yesterday (7/2), and the company charged me their basic cost for bringing a trap--$125 minus the 10% Angie's List coupon (which essentially paid the taxes on the service). Everyone I spoke to from 1st Response was uniformly pleasant, knowledgable, and professional. If that darn groundhog shows up again and starts causing serious trouble, I will absolutely call 1st Response. They are the best! (They don't remove deer, though.) :)

We found them on Angie's List and they did a great job. They sprayed externally around the house. They looked for pockets with a lot of carpenter ants. They sprayed up into the fire place outside the house like the base behind it. They sprayed around out patio and then they actually sprayed inside along the patio door like the back side of the house. They are great I would recommend them to anybody. Their service is great. I will use them again.

I thought they done a very good job. They were friendly courteous. All of the questions that I had they answered. I see why they got a Angie's List award.

They were very prompt at getting back to us. The guy that came out was really knowledgeable and really efficient. He answered all of our questions. He was a nice person and professional. I am very satisfied with their service. He was really good. They were fast.

They were so helpful from start to finish, Very friendly customer service, called promptly. Came within days of the request. I saw a few bees back a week later, ( here they were crawling up there but dying from the previous dust placed), but they came right back out like they said they would. I will always use them again in the future!

Overall the experience was wonderful. They were professional, prompt, explained in detail what the problem was and how to best resolve our issue. They took their time inspecting our home and provided detailed information in a manner that was easily understood.

This company is so easy to work with! Before treatment, we walked around both the exterior and interior of my house. There were things that I had not noticed that were treated. I ended up signing up for their maintenance program for the summer. My Big Deal coupon was the first of 3 payments. However, there was no pressure to do this. I am extremely happy with the results. Additionally, we discovered that a bird has nested in a crack between my ceder siding. He told me that after the bird hatches, they will come back and close up the hole as part of the package I bought.

They do a very good job. I am having them come back soon to take care of the spiders in my home. I would highly recommend their services.

I am on their platinum program. They are a very nice company to deal with. Jay doesn't lie to me or anything. They come and do the spraying and if I have any problems, I call them back and they will come back out and do whatever needs to be done. Their prices are fair. The quality is very, very good. They call the day before to tell me they are coming and I don’t need to be home. I’ve used them for about 5 years. I have been very, very happy with them.

We had used 1st Reponses services in the past and were happy to take advantage of the special offered through Angie's List for internal and external insect pest control. The representatives were prompt, professional, friendly, and informative throughout the process. We are very satisfied with the service performed and would use them again. .

They come out on a regular basis and I pay them yearly. They come whenever I call them, if I have a problem they are there very quickly. They are very professional and they go out of their way to deal with us. They have scheduled sprays that they do maybe four times a year, but they will come out for anything else I ask during that year. They come in and picked up the mice for me. They do an absolutely superb job.

I found 1st Response on Angie's List, and called them for an estimate, which they promptly gave me based on my pest and the square footage of my home. It was reasonable, so we scheduled the extermination of our termite ant problem right away. A few days later, I saw a newly published 1/2 price coupon out with Angie's List, which would have reduced the cost of our estimate considerably. I e-mailed Lisa at 1st Response to see if this coupon would apply to our predated estimate. She got back to me right away, and delightfully encouraged us to go ahead and use the coupon. No grumbling - truly a dedicated customer experience from start to finish. The service was conducted on time, with full explanation, and attention to detail. This is a great company, and we would definitely recommend their service to others.

The scheduling was really easy. I had a alot of questions and had them answered immediately. They arrived on time. They are very professional and explained everything clearly. They didn't try to sell me anything extra. They were pleasant to have around. They even gave me a thank you note for my business. I would definitely recommend them. Called for an estimate after noticing mud tubes in the garage. Jay provided the inspection and confirmed that it was termites. He explained how they would treat for them and the warranty period. We went with 1st Response after reviewing the information he provided. We were called the day before and reminded about the appointment. My wife was home when they showed up on time and went to work after explaining what they were going to do. After they were finished, they took her around the house to show what was done. Everything was cleaned up and all holes that were drilled in the concrete filled.
