1st Response Pest Management

Jay was our serviceman and was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. He checked in the crawl space and all the trees. A nest was found in the tree but the house and all the trees were treated. It seems to have taken care of the problem. He didn't try to sell me a lifetime package which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend to family and friends for any pest control needs. I like that they are a local company.

The first visit was in early June. The person who surveyed the problem (we noticed ants in the roof of a two-story ceiling) found that carpenter ants were coming in the house and nesting in the roof area, though they had not been a problem inside the house. He sprayed, advised that in about a week, we'd start seeing dead ants. We did, and left town for a vacation for several days. When we returned, there were several hundred dead ants. We continued to note dead ants, though, and a few weeks after returning from our vacation, called 1st Response again. The second visit was another person, he used a different treatment to try and finish off the ants. After a couple of weeks, no more ants appeared, dead or alive. We had a coupon from Angie's list, forgot to use it for the first visit, but the company honored it and send us a check for the 10% discount. We may have to periodically treat for these ants, given the type of house we have, living next to a wooded lot as well.

It has honestly been so long ago, I don't remember. I am only completing this because Angie's List incessantly prompts me for a review... (I've sent an email requesting Angie's List to quit bugging me for this review, with no positive response.)

The house I was having treated is a short term investment property and price was a major factor in my choice of provider. 1st Response was not the lowest price so I did not use them for this job. That said, had the property been my own home I would absolutely have used this company. Their professionalism was a stand out feature. They were the only company I contacted where the person answering the phone was able to give me accurate and helpful information. I also got an appointment reminder call the day before the appointment. The estimate was done by the owner of the company and was very thorough. I am also confident the service would have been excellent.

I had other work scheduled for that part of the yard which could not be performed until the aggressive yellow-jackets were dealt with. 1st Response Pest Management did a great job taking my concerns and needs into consideration and offered to return for a free follow-up treatment in a few days if needed, but this was not necessary.

Called 1st Response and set up an appointment for a technician to come out to get rid of an active nest of bees in my homes foundation. He dusted the hole in the foundation and explained that it could possibly require an additional treatment because of the activity of the nest (which is covered for thirty days under the original contract). We waited for the 3 days to pass and there was still quite a bit of activity. Called 1st Response a second time and a technician came out (8/15) and this time he dusted and sprayed the hole in the foundation. No more swarm?they have moved on. Thanks 1st Response for taking care of the problem in a timely and professional manner. Also, just a note this is the first company that has sent me a thank you note for using their services.

Technician was super nice and explained everything he was going to do. Ants had bothered us all summer but gone in about three days after treatment. Thanks Again!

Chris explored the entire property in detail, and discovered carpenter ants in multiple areas. He was friendly and professional and discussed all options. The cost for signing up for 3 sprayings a year is $200 per spraying. The initial cost was higher minus Angie's list discount.

It was a good experience, for us. For the termites, maybe not so much. They arrived on time, were thorough in their work and once they left it was hard to tell they had even trenched around the houses.

they did there job right the 1 st time. Not a problem. If you have a lot of bed bugs before you throw her house out to the curb call these guys. Great service and job done right.

Chris arrived punctually. As he always does, he checks with me to see if I am having any specific problems that need to be addressed separately from the quarterly spray. Since I had seen spiders in the basement recently, he did an interior spray down there along with quarterly exterior spray. Chris is always pleasant to work with. He always puts shoe covers on if he needs to enter the house. He always does a completely thorough job!

We had an issue with ants and stink bugs. The man who showed up to perform the service was knowledgeable and friendly. He did a thorough inspection from our basement to our attic and gave us custom treatment options. He didn't try to upsell and was great at explaining exactly what he would do and why Nd then what to expect afterwards. We still have no ants or stink bugs two months later.

I love them. They are fabulous. They come by and I do not have to be there. They just leave me my invoice. We have used them for several years. They are a smaller company and I feel like they know who I am. They come out if there is a problem which I have probably only done one time outside of their regular service. I like the idea of a smaller local service. I cannot tell you the cost of their service because it is automatically taken out of my checking so I do not pay any attention to it but it is much less than the price of the major companies in town. Their price is great.

The service went great. He was just here today. We actually needed a little different services and he was able to change that and apply it to what we needed. So, that was very helpful. There was an additional charge of $100 on top of the $125 Big Deal. I think the man said that he was actually the owner and he was great to deal with. He is hands-on and did a great job. I really do not have anything to compare the price by or anything, but I felt fine about it.

Called 1st Response the morning after and they were here at my house by 3:00 to spray those bad yellow jackets.

It was fine and they're very responsive. They just do what their job is.

He only found a few carpenter ants outside in the driveway and a couple caught in spider webs in the basements. He didn't try to sell me an annual contract because he said it wasn't necessary. Didn't claim to be able to find a nest. I appreciated both of these things because a disreputable company could've lied about these things to make more money; he didn't. Instead, he just sprayed around the outside and said to call back if we see more. Very professional and polite. Didn't waste time.

Chris arrived as expected, and began with a careful look in our basement and around the porch area, which is where the carpenter ants had been discovered. He explained what he was looking for and provided reassurance that he saw nothing of concern in the basement. He then explained what the treatment for the carpenter ants entailed, as well as what the ongoing insect applications involved. He responded in appropriate detail to all of my questions, we completed the paperwork, and he began the application of the treatment. In two weeks he will return to apply the insect treatment. This will be done again in the fall. Chris was professional in every sense of the word. We will undoubtedly continue our service with this company, and I have would have no problem recommending this company to anyone.

They came to my Mom's house and they did it. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They were very professional. There was a screw up at the very beginning, the time commitment he came late and my brother didn't wait, he left so I was in the process of rescheduling and they called me. They wanted my business I guess. He was really nice, the owner is the one I dealt with most of the time. He was good.

Overall this was a very pleasant experience. The team is very professional and they met all of my expectations.

They are coming back

They're friendly and seem to know what they're talking about. They didn't charge anything the second time when we thought we needed them back again. They meet their obligations every three months. So far, so good.

When I called 1st response I was the name of the person who would be at my home. He was on time - used covers for his shoes and was very polite. He talked me though the entire process.

They did a heat treatment in our home to rid it of the bed bugs. Our home is about 2400 square feet and a large portion of the home is below grade, which meant that our service would be a bit more expensive because it takes more effort to heat that portion of the home. They even did a second treatment because we were freaking out. They also acted like therapists, assuring us that they were confident in their treatment option and that they would back it up. They even gave us tips on what to do in the future to make sure that it doesn't happen again. During the whole lead up process to the treatment, the owner gave me his cell phone number and made himself completely available should we have any concerns. Though it was expensive, their price was very competitive which I did compare to other bids.

These guys are seriously the best! I am sure there other companies out there just as good, however, I have no interest in searching for them based on the experience I have had so far with 1st Response. The first time they came out was about a month and a half ago. They addressed all of my questions, concerns, and needs. They took in to account what we were in need of while also considering the fact that we have a dog and a 13 month old son who is crawling around like crazy. I called less than a week ago to explain we were still seeing ants and dealing with these terrible stink bugs. They sent someone out today to help address that as best as he can (only so much can currently be done about stink bugs no matter who you call). This really is a fantastic company, they are family owned and operated, and care about your pets, your little ones, and your home.
