Precision Building Service

We contacted John Gingerich the owner of Precision Building for an estimate. He contacted us the same day and visited our home a few days later for an estimate. He brought samples and a catalog for ProVia products. He was very helpful with ideas, color choices, hardware and trim. We felt comfortable dealing with him and there was no high pressure. to buy. We placed our order for a fiberglass door and matching sidelight and storm door and paid a 1/3 deposit. Exactly a month after placing the order our door was installed. Mike and Paul arrived early morning to start the job. They removed the existing frame, door and sidelight and prepared the opening. They had to make adjustments to the door opening to compensate for settling and areas where the frame was not plumb with the house. They were perfectionists and meticulous every step of the way. The entire job took over 10 hours to complete and we were very impressed with their attention to detail, work ethic and professionalism. All trim areas were matched up. No detail was spared including caulking, weather stripping and touch ups. The work area was cleaned up, vacuumed and all materials were hauled away. The finished product looks beautiful and we are very pleased! John contacted us the next day to see if we were satisfied. We definitely recommend Precision Building Service and would hire them again! They came first to do a very thorough quote. Once we scheduled, they came very punctual, and spent the whole day doing an extremely thorough job. Cleaned afterwards perfectly. They are hand crafters, perfectionists in their job. We were extremely happy with the results, we love our new door. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

John & his crew were outstanding. The door is beautiful & their work was meticulous. There was water damage to the wood beneath the door, which required much more work than initially anticipated. They completed everything to perfection & only charged us a small additional fee. We were so impressed with their professionalism. If there was a higher rating than A, I would have given it.

From the beginning of the project, to the end of the of the project, it was it was a pleasant experience having Precision Building Service install three new entry doors in our home. Their estimate was comparable in price to two other estimates. However, John Gingerich's sales presentation was far superior to two others. Mr. Gingerich not only provided the estimate but he, along with two members of his family, did all the work. They were very protective of area surrounding the work sites. they cleaned up any debris almost immediately. No walking through the mess until the end of the day. They put in some long work days but remained cheerful and pleasant throughout the three days it took to complete the installation. Another important fact: The doors are manufactured in OHIO, USA We are now making plans to have Precision Building Service install ten new windows for us. Highly recommended. Our 25 year old home has three sliding doors and due to the structure of the home and wood paneling it was not a completely standard install. Mr. Gingerich made sure he had the correct measurements and gave us options for the best fit. The installation was on time and well done without making a mess. We needed additional repairs outside the doors that led to our deck. They came up with a creative and sound repair for the situation. This required skilled carpentry and that?s what you get with Precision Building service. This would not have been completed properly if I went the Home Depot / Lowes route. I think this took a bit longer than they planned but you would never know it. They completed the job and any issues that came up without nickel and diming us. True professionals. If you want it done correctly by craftsman who can handle issues that may come up, I would highly recommend Precision Building Services. I feel like a saved money and headaches in the long run.

This was a great experience from start to finish. John contacted us promptly and set up an appointment for an estimate very quickly at a time that was convenient for us. The process was very easy and professional--this door needed a lot of custom things to fit and John was very knowledgeable and precise about what the labor would entail. Turnaround time was exactly as promised, and again, the actual work was scheduled quickly at a time that was convenient for us. The craftsmanship was excellent and this door looks great! I will definitely be contacting him for additional work in the near future.

Once again, John Gingerich and his crew did outstanding work. Initially, we just wanted to price a new storm door. However, we had a very noticeable cold draft coming through our old door frame. We had used John before for window installation and knew we could trust that they would eliminate the draft. John's crew worked many hours meticulously replacing the worn copper door weather stripping with new copper to curb the draft. It not only sealed the door properly, but it looks original to our 1920's house. They also installed a new sill and stripping on the bottom of the entry door. I should have provided this review some time ago, but it's only recently that we've really benefited from their excellent weatherization work. Great work, John and crew!

Everything from estimate to install went very smoothly & quickly. We're going to have them back out in 2015 to replace out back door .

John is one of the nicest gentleman I've ever worked with. he is professional, punctual, and a true craftsman. he was able to work within our budget when others weren't willing and helped us to maintain the old world charm of our 1917 home by paying careful attention to the existing wood work when he installed our new door. I honestly couldn't be happier with the finished product and I am so proud every time I walk in our front door. thank you John for making our front entrance a true statement piece!!

They did a great job. They told us that the exact same door that another company had quoted us at $796 would only be $506 plus a 5% Angie's List discount taking it down to $480. Due to the previous company there was between the new front door and the inside of the house there was a gap 3 feet across and a 1/4 inch wide and 3/8ths of an inch deep.They were able came out to put on the new door they also put in prefinished modling to fill the gap and it was done beautifully.

Great job, done well. All appointments were kept promptly. Sales information was clear and accurate. Work was performed promptly and done well. Job site was cleaned up nicely. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to other people. The door is high quality and although it was expensive from our point of view we have no regrets with the purchase.

The door replacement was a bigger job than we had realized and we obtained multiple quotes. Precision Building Services provided the lowest price of any comparably rated vendor. They did an excellent job extending the opening to accommodate the larger door and repaired some water damage found in the framing for a very fair additional expense. All materials used were high quality and the work was craftsman like. The door was installed on schedule and John was very repsonsive to any questions we had leading up to and during the installation process.

John was very responsive. He answered and returned my calls promptly. He took the time to meet my needs and comply with home owner association requirements. Product is high quality.

The two men were very professional, courteous and most importantly very meticulous in getting the door exactly right. They cleaned up afterwards such that the area they worked in was cleaner than when they started the job. A+!

John and his crew (sons) took care of measuring, ordering, and installing the 18 Andersen windows. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism at all times. John communicated well and followed up as promised. He made very helpful suggestions in window types before ordering. The quality of their work was OUTSTANDING. All trim work was carefully fitted. When several screens did not fit properly, John reordered them and returned to check their fit before requesting final payment. We would HIGHLY recommend Precision Building Service and will happily use them again.

I had 3 companies provide in-home estimates to replace my front door. All prices were competitive, but John Gingerich, owner of Precision Building Service, impressed me with his ability to listen to what we wanted, not just recite a sales pitch (as one company did). I also appreciated his meticulous attention to detail. He was efficient but never seemed in a rush, and was careful to take the time necessary to get everything right. I changed part of the order, at one point, and he called me back to confirm all the details. He was highly professional and always arrived on time and promptly returned my calls. Another person, Elmer, did the actual installation. He was also prompt and professional. Both doors were exactly what we ordered and were installed perfectly. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of both John and Elmer. I would use Precision Building Service again without hesitation.

They came up with a quote that was more than half of what other companies had estimated it to be. The owner came out and gave us the estimate and did the work with his son in law. He gave us a very meticulous estimate and the clean up was flawless. We're very pleased with the end result and he went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. He matched all the paint colors perfectly and I didn't have to do a thing. He even gave us the Angie's List discount, too.

John was professional, punctual, detail oriented and truly a craftsman. He was patient and gave us the time we needed to decide on style, stain color, hardware, etc that needed to be made. He was very low to no pressure. His attention to detail in the quality of his workmanship and the installation were impeccable. We chose a wooden door that was custom stained by one of his suppliers in eastern Ohio so the door and trim pieces were shipped directly to us. When he went to installed the door and the trim around it but the lumberyard only sent two pieces of trim instead of three pieces. He asked if we wanted to delay installation or go ahead and he'd put up a piece of the old trim for a couple of days until the new piece of trim arrived (lumber yard direct shipped the custom-stained trim to our home. When the new piece arrived, John promptly scheduled to come and install it within 2 days of arrival. He was in, cleaned up and done quickly. However a week later, I received a call from him asking if he could come back out as he wasn't sure if he put in an extra screw he wanted to around the door frame (mind you, this wasn't the only screw, or one to make it the average number of screws used for proper installation; this was an extra screw.). Instead of asking me to look and tell him what I saw, he drove 45 minute from his home to ours to double check and make sure he installed that one last screw (which, in fact, he had). He is very fair and competitively priced, the quality of the workmanship and the work ethic is unparalleled. You'll not only get your money's worth in the product, but you'll get your moneys worth and then some in the craftsmanship. We'll definitely call John again and will refer him to our friends as well.

It all went very smooth.He gave us the estimate and provided samples to show how the door was made. He answered all our questions. We ordered them on July 8 and he and a helper installed them on Aug. 22. He was great to work with and we are very pleased with the doors. The quality of their work is outstanding.

When John came out to provide an estimate for replacement of our front door, he brought sample door sections that made it easy to get a good perspective of the product we were considering. He was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly. His son came back later in the week with color samples so we could make a decision on the door color. The installation was quite involved with the removal of the existing doors and they had to address some other structural issues before hanging the new door. The process took about 4 weeks between ordering the door and installation due to the extreme winter weather. John and his son were wonderful to work with and we are pleased with our new door!

One word: Outstanding! We choose John Gingrich for his initial presentation when he came to our home and the high quality product he was representing. We wanted a strong, extremely secure and weather-tight patio door for our north-facing patio. Other patio doors were definitely cheaper, but none offered the same quality. And the Angie's List references on the quality of his work were very good. Admittedly and not by choice, I'm a exacting customer. If I'm paying for a product, it needs to meet the quality & service that I'm paying for. Don't get me wrong - I do not expect a filet mignon from a Wendy's 99 hamburger; however it should be quick, hot and served with a smile. So after reviewing several bids, we decided to go with a high quality door from a professional installer and we were not disappointed with Precision. John G. & his crew had to work through some rotted wood at the bottom of the frame - he did this calmly and without a lot of drama (I know other contractors who would have made a big fuss over this). Also the fit between the door and latch wasn't quite right (heavy click when you shut the door) and John again came through, having a representative from the manufacturer visit the site and together they solved the issue. We also had a delay for the security system folks to do their installation work - again, no drama. I cannot say enough good things about John Gingrich. He completely delivered and more. I will use him in the future without hesitation and cannot rate him & his company high enough. If you are looking for a highly skilled craftsman to work on your home, John is your person.

John Gingerich personally came out and listened to what I wanted done. He brought a model of the new door with him for me to see. He provided a written estimate before he left for the new door that included repair of small area of water damaged sub-floor. Since one of my windows was a brand new installation, he had to consult with his window provider before calling me back to discuss the possibilities. He promptly mailed the proposal for the windows as soon as I agreed to have the work done. This transpired during the latter part of August, 2013. I had the work done two months later, when it was convenient for me, even though Mr. Gingerich had the windows ready to install before that date. Mr. Gingerich himself and two family members performed the work, which took approximately 2 days to complete. They were professional, friendly, trustworthy and organized. They covered my floor and furniture with drop cloths to protect them and cleaned up every day before they left. The replacement window and door were installed without damage to the existing paint work. The wall that had to be cut and framed for the new window was left in condition ready to be painted. The photographs attest to the neatness and precision of Mr. Gingrich's work. I am completely satisfied with the work. The wood trim is beautiful and the new door and windows let so much more light into my home and allow us to appreciate the beautiful trees outside. I recommend this company without reservation for the installation of new doors and windows.

John promptly contacted me after I called for an estimate to replace our entrance door and sidelights, and we set up an appointment for a first visit, during which he patiently and clearly explained the different options to my wife and me. He provided us a catalog of ProVia doors (made in Ohio), and he had samples that allowed us to have a better idea of how the different options would look . On a couple of occasions after his initial visit, he returned at our request to answer questions that we had about the different styles of doors and the glass for the sidelights. He gave us helpful suggestions when we asked for his opinion, but he did not rush us to make a decision, nor did he try to push a certain style on us. When comparing different estimates for the same/similar door replacement, John's cost was the most economical, which helped make our decision to go with Precision Building Service for this job. Once we made a decision and signed the contract, the door arrived about three weeks later, and a date was set shortly thereafter for installation. On the day of the installation John and his son arrived promptly as scheduled and completed the work in one day. They worked steadily during the entire day, and they were meticulous in their work. They were careful to protect the floor during installation, and they cleaned up everything after they were finished. They even reinstalled the storm door free of charge. We are happy with the way the door and sidelights turned out, and we are glad that we had Precision Builders do the work. John and his son are very professional and competent. We highly recommend Precision Building Service.
