From friendliness to craftsmanship, I couldn't have been happier with the job that Hardwood Elegance did on my floors. They put in extra time to make sure we would be able to move into our house on time and the product was exquisite.

We are going with another company - obviously, he never provided an estimate.

Jeff came out to the house to give us an estimate and told us right off the bat that our job was too small for his company to bother with. He'd be willing to do the job, but his minimum fee is $750. Period. We found someone else to do it for $500 without the minimum charge. Friends had their whole house redone by his company and were thrilled, but the job has to be big enough to warrant his effort. I was disappointed that he wasted both of our time by coming out for an estimate on a job too small for him to be bothered with.

How great! Not only did Jeff come out within 24 hrs. to measure up, but Bob, the wonderful man that carried out the work was wonderful! Very knowledgeable. Very experienced and very proud of his work (with reason!). He even loved my (sometime annoying) dogs and worked over his weekend to finish the job.

Jeff came to do the estimate and was thorough, knowledgeable, and very honest about what would come out well and what we had to live with. He then sent us the estimate by e-mail which we really liked. We had a little bit of trouble scheduling the work because of the Christmas/New Year holidays, but once we decided when we needed it done they were very responsive. Bob did all the work, including 3 coats of oil-based polyurethane. They worked over the weekend to squeeze us in because of our difficult in scheduling with them, which we really appreciated. The floors look fabulous, and we are very happy we chose Jeff and Bob!

Jeff and Bob do ALL of the jobs, no subs. They were flexible as to when they could provide an estimate and once we were on his schedule, we were "etched". And Jeff said once the floor gets started, they won't leave until it's complete. Our job took 7 straight days (we did it before we moved in). Bob did our job and it was FLAWLESS and DUST-FREE!!! They have special equipment that keeps dust contained and my wife and I can honestly say we have never had the luxury of having floors that were this nice. Once we uncover the other half of the house from carpet, we'll have them back in.

Jeff was very prompt about coming out for the estimate. He was on time, and he really knows the hardwood flooring business. He seemed willing to work with us regarding the time-frame on having the job completed. However, when it came time for the estimate I never heard from him again. I followed up with Jeff a week after he came out to my home regarding the estimate. He apologized and said he would email me the estimate that same day. He said he would make me a top priority as the work was to be started in only a few weeks. Again, no email and no estimate. I followed up with an email to Jeff, but I never received a reply. I was really disappointed because I wanted to use this company, and the time-frame to do the work would have fit nicely into our schedule. I am not sure if he got a better offer somewhere else, but I wish he would have told me upfront that he couldn't or wouldn't do the work so that I could have gotten someone else sooner.

I called Jeff on a Friday morning and he stopped out at my house THAT EVENING! He emailed my estimate to me the next morning. I had just closed on a 1965 two story house the previous Tuesday and was concerned about a strong cat odor that was in the dining room wood floor and I had wanted to move in as soon as possible. The floors had just had carpet ripped up from them and they were not in good shape. Jeff was able to start my work the following Monday. He finished the first floor the first week and the second floor by Thursday of the second week. I am so thankful to Jeff because the floors look fantastic and the cat smell is gone! (It got sealed in by the polyurethane!) Jeff is VERY clean! I cannot emphasize this enough! I think this guy must be a neat freak at home too! He also pays very close attention to detail. I mean even the very back corner of the closet where you may never look will be perfect. The floors are as smooth as a baby's butt! Trust me, you want Jeff to do your work.

My experience with HARDWOOD ELEGANCE FLOORING is quite possibly the greatest home improvement experience I have ever had. Bob was prompt, even early one day, so I could go to work, friendly to me and to my family, and dedicated to quality work that was completed at the amount estimated and ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend this company, and Bob in particular for any of your hardwood flooring needs. We plan to use them again in the future when we complete the rest of our home.

Jeff was not even courteous enough to provide the estimate he promised. He will probably rebutt this review by replying that the job could not be done in the way he (or I) would have been satisfied with. Two other top ranked Angie's List companies have taken a look and think it can be done. The one we have hired even offered our money back if we are not satisfied. I do not appreciate attitude just for trying to give someone business.

Superb!! Their system truly is dustless. The floors look fantastic. Bob did a wonderful job. Preexisting scratches and marks were sanded down better than I expected. The sanding and sealing is very consistent, even in some odd corners and closets. Bob mentioned a minor unexpected repair he'd made, the repair is so well done that even knowing where it is, I have to search to find it. The thresholds, particularly an awkward, thick one to tile were very well done. The attention to detail was very professional. Bob and Jeff were very patient and answered all my questions thoroughly. I made a rather late request to change the schedule to which Jeff was very accommodating. I couldn't be happier with the work and worth every penny.

As always, they did a great job. Bob is not only great at his job, he's polite, courteous and helpful. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Jeff was very good to work with. He is very knowledgeble and good at explaining everything they are going to do. He looked at the floors under the carpet and explained some of the difficulties with the floor and set our expectations regarding some pet stains that may not come out. I felt very comfortable with them and they worked on the house while we were out of the country. We came back to beautiful floors and no mess whatsoever. I would highly recommend them and use them again. They even came in under their original estimate. The only negative that I can think of is that they seem to be pretty busy, so you need to be persistant in calling them and setting up appointments.

We were able to schedule a time for an estimate with Jeff after 2 phone calls. He arrived on time and was very helpful when discussing our options. However, he never provided us with an estimate for the work, despite two additional phone calls. We have decided to go with someone else because they actually followed through with an estimate for the work!

Outstanding! Not only did they work with our schedule, there really was very little dust. Bob cleaned up each day, came when he said, & locked up when finished. Five months later the floors look great & seem to be wearing really well. I had used another company before, but Hardwood Elegance is superior.

Jeff Hough was very responsive to my initial call - in fact, we scheduled an appointment that day for an estimate for refinishing oak floors in a living room and dining room. That's the good news. He never called me back with an estimate; he never contacted me again at all. Too bad. I would have had other work for him to do. He wasted my time, and for that, I wouldn't dream of recommending him.

We are extremely pleased with this company! Our flooring representative was Bob, and his workmanship was outstanding. He was punctual, timely, and clean. All work was completed BEFORE the expected date. More important, we were out of town while the work was being done, and our basement flooded while away. Bob played a key role in organizing the clean up and insurance inspections. He went above and beyond what was expected of him. We felt fortunate (and safe) having him in our home while away. I highly recommend this company!

I called and left a message inquiring about an estimate. I finally received a callback 3 days later to schedule an appointment. However, he didn't show up to the appointment, didn't call to say he couldn't make it and didn't call after to explain and/or reschedule. Very unprofessional and unreliable.

I left 2 messages 2 days apart and I never heard anything. If they are too busy to do the work they could at least respond and let me know.

Jeff and Bob are both great. Jeff and I spoke on the phone prior to the commencement of the job. Every time I called Jeff, he picked up the phone. I never had a leave a message, even at night. Bob did a stellar job completing the refinishing of our floors. He is very reliable and in order to finish the work at the promised time, he worked two weekends. I (a female) felt very comfortable with Bob working in the house while I was there with my daughter. And, our 9-month daughter loved Bob:). My husband and I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. We feel that we got great value for our money.

Thanks to Jeff Hough of Hardwood Elegance, this was an exceptional experience from the very start. He provided an estimate for the work within 2 days of my calling and started the work within 2 weeks. Jeff removed the old carpet then cut and rolled it into the right size for bulk pick-up. We just moved it to the curb. He pointed out some areas of concern with the floor (stains) but ultimately was able to virtually eliminate them. What appealed to me most was he uses a dust-free sander. And it was! My house was as clean after he sanded as it was before. Once the floors were done he installed 7 thresholds, 3 of which had to be built to conform to a high ceramic floor. Jeff has very high standards and that showed in the result. Our floors are gorgeous! Jeff thoroughly explained how to care for our wood floors and gave some good advice concerning future work we may want to have done. We are thrilled and highly recommend Jeff Hough of Hardwood Elegance.

Did a great job! No dust, showed up on time, got the job done according to schedule and it looks terrific! Very professional. Their rates were in line with national averages I had found on a web site. I would certainly use them again if the need arose (but I hope I'm all done!)

JEFF CUSTOM MIXED A COLOR FOR US THAT WAS PERFECT. HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS, AND HE COMPLETED THE JOB DURING THE TIME PERIOD HE HAD PROMISED US. WE ARE VERY PLEASED AND WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

BOB & JEFF DID ANOTHER OUTSTANDING JOB. THEY SANDED THE WOOD FLOORS IN 5 ROOMS PLUS THE HALLWAYS AND STAIRS. THE WOOD FLOORS LOOK A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER THAN WHEN THEY STARTED. THEY BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO WORK MY PROJECT INTO THEIR BUSY SCHEDULE. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN WITHOUT QUESTION.
